This irritates my skin and does not improve my acne. Furthermore, it is sticky and the packaging looks and feels cheap.

This is the best BP solution I've used to date. I thought proactiv's was good, but this one is way better. Yeah the price is a bit steep (better than proactiv though), but it lasts a long time and the anti-irritants and texture make it worth it. Proactiv is still nice, I find it more moisturizing than Paula's, which for me is NOT a plus, I like to moisturize on top of it, and doing that with proactiv would make me too greasy. I like the gel liquidy texture, it smooths easy and sinks right in. The anti-irritants really do make a difference for me.

I use it as a spot treatment on my pimples.
I found it reduce redness and acne size if you apply as soon as a pimple pops out. This is quit effective in treating pimples. However, if use too frequently, will cause excessive dryness and peeling.

This is the best benzoyl peroxide lotion I have found. It works really well without irritating my skin. I use it almost daily.

I have sensitive, reactive skin. I used this product for a few years. I used it in the morning and at night. I still had acne and blackheads despite using the whole line of products. I have started to use a drop of pure tea tree oil mixed with my lotion. I have found this works better. I was tired of ruining all the pillowcases and shirts from using a benzoyl perozide product. So I was happy to find something that works better for me and not ruin clothes using it. I do have to mix the tea tree oil with something or it will cause a dermatitis reaction when used full strength.

I find this product has really helped my teenage's son acne, IF he is diligent about applying it in the morning and at night...
I'm thinking perhaps we will try the extra strength formulation next because of that...
I, however, HATE the packaging. I can't count the times that the lid has been dropped. It really needs a flip top cap (not a screw cap).
I would repurchase either this or the extra strength formulation of this product however.

I've used this product for a month and have almost finished my tube. I bought it to use with the acne.org regimen, which I adore. It worked at first, but over the past week or so I've noticed I'm breaking out again. After switching back to Neutrogena On-the-Spot (or the CVS version this time) my skin's clearing back up. I peeked at the ingredients, and I think my skin dislikes the dimethicone in the PC gel (after all, I did apply it morning and night so it was on my skin all the time). It seems odd for Paula to include such a common pore-clogger in her careful and conscientious product formulation. It was also fairly expensive and I found the texture a bit runny for my liking. Will not repurchase.

Price increase warning: Paula's Choice has significantly raised the prices of its product samples while SIGNIFICANTLY reducing their size. If you're thinking about taking these with you on a trip, then you'll pay a LOT for that luxury. It's terribly disappointing. I could see raising the prices on the same-size samples, but to then make the samples SO MUCH smaller (from 4.4 ml. to 1.77 ml., for example) is just agonizing. It's such a greedy move.

This product, along with a more diligent skincare routine, has transformed my previously problematic skin. I have ultra-sensitive skin, but this water-based liquid sinks in and doesn't leave my skin irritated. I only use a very thin layer on my chin (where I previously suffered from constant breakouts), and it seems to be enough. It's light enough to wear during the day under makeup, so that's also a plus. This is definitely an HG acne-fighting product.

I had a horrible reaction to this product. I have normal to dryish acne prone slightly sensitive skin. I knew before using it that I might have a reaction as I have reacted to other BP products before, so it's not the products fault. After reading all of the reviews about how gentle it is I thought it just might work for me. How wrong I was. I used this for two nights. The first night I loved the texture. It's a thin solution that sinks right in to skin. No funny smell also. My skin seemed to really like it and looked clearer the very next day. So on day two I applied it all over just like the night before. When I woke up I noticed I had a red spot on one cheek and went on with my day. It developed into a large, red, itchy, pimply patch over the day. Today is day three and it is very inflamed and itchy and the skin looks kind of glazed over in that spot. Very weird. Lesson learned, no more BP for me! If you can tolerate it this is a wonderful product though.

I love this product and panic if I think I am going to run out. I have had problems with acne for years and have tried various products like this, but this is the only one which does not irritate and clears up my skin. I do get a little flaking sometimes, but my skin seems to have adapted to it well. I would definitely recommend this product.

I love this stuff! It is extremely effective and 100 times gentler than any other benzoyl peroxide product I have used. All the other ones I used were way too harsh and caused that tight feeling and peeling skin. This product is genius! The only downside (as with any benzoyl peroxide treatment) if you get it on fabrics, it will bleach them.

My skin is slightly oily but easily dried out by products, and I was a bit flaky when I first started using this as an all over treatment, but my skin adjusted fairly quickly and now it leaves my skin feeling great. I usually use it at night, but it sinks in so quickly and leaves such a nice finish, I can use it in the day on spots I feel need the twice a day treatment. You don't get much for the price, but it's thin and liquidy and a little goes a long way. And of course the most important factor: It works well for me for preventing blemishes and treating small ones. I do disagree, though, that 2.5% BP is as effective as higher concentrations. When I get large nasty pimples, Persagel used one or two nights as a spot treatment clears those up much, much more quickly than this stuff alone. But for an all over treatment, which my skin requires, this stuff is effective and gentle at the same time.

This is THE best stuff for banishing pimples/acne. Works so much better than any drug-store kind out there. I apply a very THIN coat - I think some people tend to overuse this product and that's why they are having problems.

This is definitely my Holy Grail of all blemish fighting products. At 45, I still have blemishes that pop up monthly and this product takes care of them before they get out of control. I apply a little with a Q-Tip on the blemish and its decimated by the end of the day or overnight. Believe me, a little goes a long way. Be careful not to get this stuff on your clothing or towels as it will bleach them. Otherwise, this is definitely a product to try. I do use the rest of Paula's line: One Step Combination Skin Cleanser; 1% or 2% BHA lotions; and the Hydralight Moisturizer. I find that these products are gentle yet effective to keep my skin under control: smooth, neither too oily or dry. Highly recommend!

I ordered a sample of this, hoping I could tolerate the benzoyl peroxide since Paula's catalog says "Soothing anti-irritants make this an extremely gentle way to treat and disinfect without over-drying the skin." Well, soothing and gentle though this may be, I have a flaky, leathery patch of skin on my cheek where I dotted this on a few times last week. The pimple I was attempting to zap is indeed gone, but the itching was terrible. A few years ago, I tried a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment from Mary Kay with similar results, but I was hoping this might be different since it was touted as *extremely* gentle. No such luck, but the other PC products I'm trying seem to work better for me, so maybe I won't be in such need of a blemish solution anyway. I hope!

I love this stuff. It's the best benzoyl peroxide product I've ever used. It's expensive and I wish it came in a bigger, perhaps pump bottle, but I will definitely be buying this again. It's got a thin, water-based consistency like all of my favorite Paula's Choice products. I think that's the key with me; her products don't overwhelm my spastic skin. Anyway, this stuff is very finely milled and soaks in like a dream. I use it every other night under the Hydralight moisturizer, but even if I didn't moisturize, the Blemish Fighting Solution never leaves a white film like Neutrogena, PersaGel, or that Dan's stuff. GREAT product, I can't believe I haven't tried it before now. Clear, clear skin with PC products.
Edited to Add:
The reviewers who complain of a rash or redness and irritation are most likely allergic to benzoyl peroxide. BP will never work for them.

I bought the 2% BP for my teenager and it makes a real difference WHEN he uses it. He doesn't use any special ance cleanser or toner so even w/o a full program, I see a difference Unfortunately, I have to chase him around to put it on him so most of the time he only gets it on 2-3x per week. Still, the day after he uses it, skin skin appears to be a lot calmer and the blemishes start to dry. If only he would use it everyday......

I have always had trouble with BP products.
This formula has only 2.5% BP and it works great!
No irritation or itching from this. Other BP products leave the application area with a red inflammed mark.
I use it at night to spot treat pimples and in the morning either they´re gone or less noticeable.
Some reviewers say it is similar to Neutrogena´s, but that one gave me a horrible rash and burned my skin. So I guess everyone is different to their tolerance of BP.
Will buy again!
EDIT: This BP gave me a rash too....BOO-HOO...It really helped reduce my pimples but gave me small red bumps instead. No more BP for me.
