Amazing one. Bourjois always makes the best mascaras ever and this doesn't disappoint either. ALthough when I do go abroad I'll have to stock up on the older ones. the stupid stores here have a bad habit of discontinuing old products if a new one comes in.

Now that this mascara is not available at Sephora anymore I have to buy it when I visit Japan, which is fortunately often enough that I can get a new tube every two to three months (nicely aligning with the life-span of this product). Even though I repeatedly buy other waterproof mascaras (including another hard to find discontinued favorite - Chanel Drama Lash in Jet), this one has remained my favorite for day-to-day use. I wouldn't say that it adds volume, at least not for me, but it does lengthen and separate and I never have to worry about too many coats creating that "mas-scary" look.
My favorite part about this product is that when I curl my lashes it holds the curl most of the day, something that other waterproof mascaras often fail to do. My least favorite part, and the reason I only gave it a rating of four out of five lipsticks, is that it works best in the initial month after purchase - after two months it works, but not nearly as well.
**Update** I just returned from my most recent trip to Tokyo and was informed by all of the Bourjois vendors that this mascara has been discontinued completely :-(

My favorite mascara. It lengthens, makes my lashes look fuller, and it doesn't smudge. It's also easy to remove, not like the cover's girl's lash blast waterproof mascara I just got. I think I loss some lashes trying to get that mascara off. Sephora stopped selling this line at their stores, so I've been searching for a mascara similar to this one or better. I've tried over a dozen mascaras, but I haven't been able to find anything that beats this one. I may just end up purchasing this online somewhere.

I usually like Bourjois mascaras. but this was a huge waste and total garbage. It takes forever to actually get product onto your lashes, it does not lengthen at all, and adds only a little volume. The dark black color and the fact that it holds a curl (as most waterproof mascaras do) are the only good points. I think it is supposed to smell rosy but its a little off. It starts flaking a lot after a while too. It is also truly waterproof, but made my lashes, stiff, spider-y, and dry. I only used it twice before throwing it away because of the bad quality.

At first it was just okay. It did an okay job of thickening and lengthening, but the formula smelled kinda funny and it was difficult to take off (as expected). But, even before the three-month-usage limit was up, it irritated my contacts. I walked around with bloodshot eyes for a couple days getting "Dude, what happened to your face?" and "Have you been crying?" questions. Then, I made the connection. Bleh, waste of money. Stay away if you have sensitive eyes. Or if you have normal eyes, for that matter; it's not that great anyway.

As a mom to a busy 7 month old, I was really looking for something with staying power and so far, even as a waterproof mascara, this is it. The volumizing quality is average at best, it definitely doesn't make my lashes any longer and I am disappointed in that I can't even manuever my lashes into a curl, like I could with my MAC zoom lash (yes, I am one of the people that likes zoom lash). Still, it lasts and last with no smudging and it's one of the balckest mascaras I have used to date.

Usually I like Bourjois mascaras. But its not so easy to find a good waterproof mascara. And this one is not good. It made my lashes look very unattractive and it was very very difficult to apply it.

I had spider lashes upon using this product. My lashes were also very dry and flaky. Also smudged under my eyes. The colour wasn't intense at all. I couldn't even see my lashes and didn't add any depth to my eyes. Not happy about this. This product is going back!

I saw these bad comments about this mascara and I have to come in to share my view. My eye makeup tend to smudge very easily w/o udpp, and BB liner smudges on me, the only liner that doesn't smudge is MAC fluidline/liquidlast. So in the first place everything tend to smudge on me, so are mascaras and I'm always looking for non-smudging mascaras.
This is the only mascara in my 20 mascaras(All bought less than 6 months ago) that I use everyday. It's WATERPROOF, and that's it's function. I use it to volumize my lashes after the first coat of other lengthening/curling mascara, it does not weigh down my lashes even if I apply a lot, nor does it clump or smudge. I'm able to use many mascara because I don't have to worry about whether it would smudge, bourjois does the trick! After using it for three months it looks dired up a little, I'm definitely looking for bourjois waterproof, volumizing mascara, maybe to try out another line but I'll stick on to this brand! People have been talking about clarins double fix mascara, but I wouldn't spend $5 more on just for the waterproof, no volumizing, and make my lashes hard like wooden sticks!

I would not buy this mascara again. This is a very average mascara that does not pump up any volume. In fact, the only thing it pumps up is the amount of makeup remover I have to use to take it off.
The color is nice and dark, very pigmented, the packaging is cute and easy to handle. The brush is a regular, average brush. The formula is not thick, instead, it is rather thin and wet and it does not hold the curl at all.
As far as the waterproof part, yeah, it does not smudge and it holds up well, but seriously a lot of the other mascaras I have do the same at a lower price.
Blah and meh are the two key words for the describing this mascara.

I tried this mascara several times over a few months under different conditions and either it was too drying and flaky (on a normal day) or it smudged terribly (if I wore a lot of eye cream or went to the gym or stood in a steamy bathroom for more than a minute). I have long thin lashes, and while it did add some volume, it never applied in a smooth or glossy way AT ALL, and I almost always had to use an eyelash comb to prevent spider lashes. I think that I gave it a fair shot for quite some time... but in the trash it goes. :(

This has been my HG mascara for a couple of years now. I found the Bourjois line before it came to the U.S. and had purchased this mascara at the Sephora in Paris. It's amazing - I'm Asian and it gives me thicker, prettier lashes especially when I curl them just right. The staying power is great - I worked 10 hour flights & this didn't smudge at all, even after a nap ;)

This is only to be used if you intend to live under water permanently!! I would really not recommend the regular use of waterproof mascaras as I feel they are too drying and start flaking very quickly.

On the search for my HG mascara this is so far in the lead. I have tried every mascara ever made. I in fact used to work for mu counters and Ulta/Sephora just so I could try all the new mascaras. I think mascara can make you look polished even without any other makeup on. Anyways this Pump up the Volume Waterproof is great! Bourjois is known worldwide for their assortment of mascaras and this one is my favorite from their line (in fact its the only one from this line that i like). It doesn't clump, smudge, it holds a curl, it thickens and it lengthens. The only thing I do not like about this mascara is that it dries out very fast, so fast that I have to replace it in 4 weeks! So yes while it's inexpenisve @ $13 it can become pricey replacing every month instead of the recommended every 3-4 months. But until I find my HG this will remain my favorite.

my lashes arent that thick but they are kinda long. you wouldnt be able to telll the length really since they are really light, at the end. im asian. so my lashes arent all that awesome to begin with. but this mascara so far has been very good to me. i use a shu uemera curler and apply this and my lashes are nicely lengthened and wonderfully separated. not SO much volume. but its better than nothing. i also have lash injection from too faced and i like bourjois much better because it doesnt do the ugly flaky thing at the end of the day. however, TF does volumize better. but almost to the point of tarantula legs.
i've had no problems with the waterproofness. its withstood 10 mile bike rides, pms fits, and fights with the boyfriend that leave me crying for silly reasons.
this COULD be my HG mascara. its at the top of my list now. and im too broke to go spend tons of money looking for another so i will definitely enjoy this one while i have it. =)

With short, straight Asian lashes, I need a mascara that will volumize and lengthen. In addition, I wear contact lenses, so a mascara that doesn't flake into my eyes is crucial. This product made my lashes full and long and did not flake. However, the reason I won't be buying it again is that it smudges noticably. If I took a nap in it, I'd wake up and it would make my eyes raccoon-esque. Even if I didn't nap in it, it smudged throughout the day! For about $15.00 US, I expect a waterproof to perform better. Great look, terrible endurance.

Waterproof sure as hell doesn’t mean sweatproof…this was smeared all over my eyes after a sweaty day…oh doesn’t work with tears as well…makes me wonder what so waterproof it was…considering my normal eye makeup remover could get it off… did nuts for my lashes either…didn’t had any effect…

This is very impressive for a waterproof mascara. Although i got this as a gift and didnt mean for it to be waterproof, it gives great volume and length, as well as definition. I havent tested this in water though, since ive been using it in the winter/spring time. The only downside to this is that it can be drying and flaky.

It is NOT waterproof!!! it smudged my eyes after 1 hour of applying it!! Will not buy again.
Edited:
maybe not even 1 hour. It was a while when I last used it and sure it did smudge within a very short period of time.
