I started using this, together with the Clean-AC cleansing cream which i love, after my accutane treatment.
I am not satisfied with it, it is too greasy and shiny and takes ages to be absorbed. I nearly have to wait an hour or more to apply any kind of make up on it, so i am using it as a night cream. It is very nice, soothing and moisturising when used at nights but very bad for mornings. I am not going to buy again, and will search for a lighter cream.

My derm recommended using this product when I was using harsher products on my skin. I have combo skin so certain areas were getting really dried out by my regiment. I have oily combo skin and I have had NO problems with this product being too greasy. I normally apply it sparingly at night or under foundation if my skin is flaking. I sometimes even use it when my sensitive skin is just acting up. I have never found a moisterizer that works as well as this one without clogging my pores or making me into a grease pit. This is my HG moisterizer.

This product was designed for people, who undergo an ance-treatment and need help for skin protection and soothing. Whenever people say, it too greasy and shiny, please, keep the aim of this cream in mind. It should build a protective barrier for the skin while having a harsh retin-a-treatment. Of course, it´s a richer formula and not mattifying.
I´m not having an acne-treatment, but still bought this cream during a harsh winter-period.
My skin is combo-acne-prone-dehydrated-sensitive.
The cream does a really good job in protecting the skin and it does sooth the skin. My aim was not perfect hydration, but I needed something for my skin while having the minus 20 degrees outside.
The weak point fo this cream is the not-so-hydrating effect. It a richer formula and more on the side of creams for the lack of fats/oils in your skin rather than for the lack of moisture in your skin. But for my purposes, it was perfect. You could use a serum for more moisture.
I tried it as a daycream and wanted to substitute my other winter-cream from Avene, the rich compensating cream.
However some reviewers broke out from this cream and I wondered why. I didn´t break out, but there´s shea butter in this cream. No matter how I tried, I could find no source in the internet, that could exactly tell, if shea-butter is comedogenic. Some say it is good for acne-prone skin and reduces any inflammations, others claim it as comedogenic.
In the end, your skin decides, whether you break out from shea butter or not. I didn´t break out from shea butter although I´m prone to breaking out from the common bad oils for acne skin like coconut oil, sea buckthorne oil or cocoa butter.
The cream was soothing and protecting my skin during harsh and cold weather.
Instead of this, when the climate got milder, I switched to my normal Avene balancing cream, which I like it better because of the hyaluronic acid. But that´s just my preference and I can honestly recommend the Clean AC cream.

I really love Avene products, but this cream does not suit my skin properly. I've bought this three times, and like it for the fact that it doesn't break me out, but it does not provide enough moisture. I've tried other Avene creams I like better. But none of their products have broke me out, and my skin tend to react pretty bad if the ingredient's not right..
I do think the cream is a good one, but next time I want more moisture in my Avene cream, therefor I will not buy again!

This is a great moisturiser for oily and acne prone skin. However and OBVIOUSLY, do not use it on the mornings, as the sun will make your face a shiny mess (use the matifying emulsion lotion instead, not perfect, but it's better for the day). Unless your skin is very dry and can take it, of course.

I bought this cream after I began my acne treatment program. The prescription products were making my skin hurt, so I bought this because the box said "hydrating, soothing adjunctive care to anti-acne treatments"
Unfortunately, this product barely moisturizes and it makes my face look and feel greasy. It does make my skin feel a little more comfortable, but I find that my Complex 15 lotion does a better job.

I am using Differin gel from my derm together with this.
In the evening after I washed my face I'll put on some Differin and let it dry. After like 10 minutes I'll put on the Avene Hydrating Care to compensate the drying effect of Differin. If I don't do this my face get's very dry causing even more acne. Avene hydrating Care supports my skin by making it balanced and clear.
Tip: Don't overdo your skin. Washing with soup, tonic, cremes every morning and evening is way to much. It can irritate causing even more damage. Be gentle.

I didn't like this moisturiser. It was greasy on my skin, and took ages to absorb. Since I wore it beneath my makeup, it made my makeup smudge and my skin look all splotchy. Also it broke me out in tiny little pimples that are the hardest to get rid of. As for the smell, I know its good Avene dont use artificial fragrances, but this product smells quite unpleasant. It's the first time I'm disappointed with Avene products. The only reason im giving it one lippy is because it relieved my skin of the tightness I had, but the rest was awful.

I got this from my dermatologist and if you're doing a harsh anti acne treatment - Proactiv, Acne.org, Differin, Benzac, Zineryt or even Accutane - this kind of cream is a must!
Been using it for a years and it's great. It calms my skin, absorbs quickly and the ingredients are very 'soft' and won't clog pores - it's 'safe' to use, which is very important to me cos after ten years of fighting acne, I know that most moisturizers out there have bad ingredients that will only feed your blemishes...
Off course, if your skin is really irritated and dry from your treatment, don't expect miracles. You might need to apply several times a day. I use it also as a make up base and though I'm not sure it's made for that purpose, it kinda works. I won't say this is my holy grail moisturizer though, if that even exists for an acne skin... (if you know one, send me a message:))

I bought this while battling very dry skin in the winter. I figured that it was my Neutrogena cleanser, so I thought this would help. At the time, it did not.
I received the Hydrance Optimale Legere (or some combination of those words) for Christmas, and found that I was breaking out. I purchased the Cleanance gel cleanser and about a week or two ago I switched back to this, and already things have been improving.
It does feel thick when you're putting it on, like you almost don't have enough, but it definitely is. A little goes a long way and I'm still in love.
I'm so glad I have something that doesn't to anything bad to my sensitive combination skin

It broke me out. Twice.
Used it a couple of times, then stopped because i was getting whitespots.
I was doing great with Eluage/Diancneal and Cicalfate/Hydrance Legere, but i wanted to give it another try.
Big mistake, it gave me 4-5 pustules 2 days after using it. Never using this again.
Not recommended.
Update: i'm on accutane right now, and i'm using this in the evening. Helped me so much with my red, irritated skin.

I have sensitive acne-prone skin. My skin does not agree with a lot of products on the market, so I have to be very selective in buying moisturizers. After looking at most of the Avene products (because I had received a sample of Hydrance Optimale of the same brand) I picked out Clean-Ac. I picked this moisturizer because I use Pro-Activ and while it is a good regimen, it dries out my skin and leaves it flaky. After using this moisturizer immediately after cleansing, my skin soaked it right up. Made my skin feel really soft, and minimized pores. And best of all, did not irritate my skin! And it has a nice smell too - my skin usually gets irritated by scented creams but this cream is surprisingly fine!
Only discrepancies with this product: it does not contain SPF. If it did, it would be a miracle moisturizer. Also, if you want to apply foundation or makeup on top of this, WAIT about 5 minutes for it to dry. :)

This product is supposed to be used with harsh acne treatments, to counteract the dryness such treatments cause. I’ve been using it on its own.
It’s Ok moisturizer, although it feels a bit heavy, the texture is thicker than Cleanance creams, and my face felt slightly oily after putting this. It didn’t cause breakouts.
It comes in a tube.
Overall, I think it’s worthy to consider this moisturizer as an addition to acne treatments, but I still prefer something lighter.
It retails for around 12 euros for 40ml.

I love this moisturizer! It doesn`t break me out at all that nearly all other moisturizer does. In contrary, it soothes my skin and pimples remove. Something I can`t understand. Whenever I use a very light moisturizer, f.e. the Hydrance legere, my skin becomes oily and breaks out. The same when I use any treatments like BHA etc. But after putting this quite thick and rich cream into my face, imperfections disappear.

I like Clean AC even if it leaves my face a little greasy. It doesn`t affect in a bad way my face like other creams. I wash my face, then spray thermal water from Avene and then after a while I put the cream. Every evening I use Diacneal because I have acne prone skin . It helped me in a way this treatment because it took me a ot from that awful redness, plus whenever I have a pimple and I put Diacneal, it goes back. But I have some visible scars on my left cheek from the zits and I am depserate, I don`t know what to use :(
