I started using this product over a year ago and if I had ever forgotten to use it, I'd know because of the excess oil on my face. My makeup goes on smoother, without a greasy feel. Needless to say, I love this product and it actually works for my skin type-- supahhh oily.

I really like this stuff. I don't have much to compare it too, the only other toner I've ever used is Proactiv's and I do think Proactiv's was slightly more effective. This is definitely good quality though. I usually use a make up wipe to remove my make up at night instead of washing my face because I'm usually too tired/lazy to go all the way to the bathroom to do it when I'm just going to take a shower in the morning and wash my face anyways. I use the Maybelline's New "Clean Express" make up wipes (in the pink package) and although they do work very well, they don't always get everything since I wear MAC's Prolong Wear Foundation/Concealer and that stuff is TOUGH to remove completely from your skin, which is good during the day and bad at night - haha. I use my cotton pads and soak up about 3 or 4 and it completely removes all traces of make up, dirt, and whatever oil is on my face. I love the stinging feeling I get when I put this on because I can feel it burning and killing all that nasty bacteria - as weird as that is. Definitely a good astringent and I will most definitely be repurchasing and using up at least one more bottle until and if I try something else.

If I based my decision on the reviews I probably wouldn't be where I am now. Despite the negative reviews, I was still curious as to what this product could do so I gave it a shot. I don't regret it at all. After having horrible dry skin that would flake, I tried the products from SIMPLE. It helped my skin and eventually I moved on to clean and clear. I have the facial wash and the moisturizer. I was a little reluctant at first cause its an astringent and I have oily yet sensitive skin. It does have a pretty bad smell but I really like how soft my skin feels afterwards. It really controls my oily face. I find myself not becoming annoyed with my oily nose throughout the day. I bought it at Walmart for about 3 dollars. I'll definitely repurchase :)

This stuff was terrible on my skin. It made it all red, and I thought at first it was only doing that because it was working, but after 2 days, my face was breaking out terribly! I thought maybe I should give it a chance, so I used it for 2 weeks, and my face was red, and covered in zits. My neck has always been completely clear, so to try something, I put this stuff on a spot on my neck and 2 days later I had pimples on my neck. I am never buying that stuff again

I like this i guess...its not amazing. The alcohol is really strong when i put it one it makes my eyes water. Also I dont like the bottle because it pours out very fast.

I used this for a long time when I was a teenager and it did nothing for me. Kind of irritating. Doesn't smell good at all. There are better toners out there.

There are two things, and only two things, that have kept my skin clear for the past 7 or so years. One is the Dove Sensitive Skin beauty bar and this is the other. If I go without one or the other for more than a day, I will get breakouts, but with the combination of both of these, a blemish is a rarity.

I believe that we are supposed to stay away from toners with alcohol in them - dries out your skin, bad for your skin, etc etc. I DON'T CURR. This is the only thing that works for me. I battled with my acne for years - my skin was perfect up until I turned 18 and then it went crazy. I never was without at least two deep cystic pimples at any given time, and I don't even want to get started on the war zone my face looked like after dozens of acne scars. This went on for years and I tried soooo many different things for my skin, including prescription medications, and some of them worked for a while, but the problems would always come back. The combination of the Dove beauty bar and this astringent is the only regimen that works for me to keep pimples at bay on a pretty much permanent basis. I can actually go out without foundation now without feeling super self conscious. I get frequent of compliments on my skin, which honestly still amazes me after having had such TERRIBLE skin for years.

The only thing that makes me a little sad is that I'm basically chained to Dove beauty bar and Clean & Clear astringent for the foreseeable future hahaha. Sometimes when I go out of town I've forgotten one or the other and I'll have to find a drugstore nearby to purchase since whatever the hotel/friend I'm staying with has won't cut it. However, I should consider myself lucky because a) neither of them are expensive b) both are easily accessible, stocked by pretty much any drugstore or supermarket and c) they work. I guess that's all I can ask for!

Wow! This was...one hell of a product. Made my face explode w/ what seemed to be first degree burns and crazy amounts of dryness, which, in turn, made me break out even more. Horrendous! The only good thing that came out of it was the lesson that for people w/ acne prone skin it is very important NOT to overdry skin, but to instead, balance the amount of oil it produces. Take 1 star, clean&clear!

Oh my goodness, this stuff is a lifesaver. My oil has been under control, without any over drying. My pores aren't clogged since I began using this, it leaves my skin smooth and even looking. It helps zap sits and prevent future ones from happening. It's so rare for me to find products that work with my ridiculous skin and Florida weather. This is also crazy cheap, and the clear bottle is great, because you know when you're about to run out. =]

UPDATE!!!! Dried my skin out wayyyyyy too much, and cystic pimples began popping up all over my face.

This stuff is a GODSEND. I've been struggling with spot breakouts and I've gone through half a dozen products, to no avail...I picked this up for $8 and shoppers drug mart, and 2 days later, my skin is totally clear.

it can be a bit drying, but just apply a bit of moisturizer and you're good to go.

Love it!

I have used this for years and it has done the job of keeping my skin clear along with the Clean and clear oil free face wash. But in the last few months I have found it to be overdrying for me. If you have oily skin this might work really well . I have since gone the natural way with witch hazel.

This product works pretty good. I liked it overall, but a few things were annoying about it.. like that it comes out of the bottle way too much at a time and squirts everywhere then and it really stings my face when applied and it dries out my face a bit. I did like that it cleared up pimples pretty well, but I doubt I will buy this again.. it comes in a big bottle that lasts for a long time though. It also is pretty cheap. If you have sensitive skin then I reallllyy do not recommend this for you.

I am used to using salycic acid 2% on my face as I used to use Noxema pads twice a day. I decided that the little pads were too abrasive and wanted something liquid, so I picked this stuff up. My skin now hates me.

I don't know what ingredient in this irritates my skin so much but it sort of reminds me of the feeling of when you put lemon juice on your skin after a good cleansing (ouch). It goes away after 15 minutes but the minute you get warm and sweat a little (like at the gym, being outside in uber hot weather, etc) HOLY HECK your face burns with pin prick sensations all over. I mean, this could be HOURS after application. I then broke out all over but I think it wasn't zits, it was more of a rash. I'm still dealing with it. I don't have sensitive skin and have never had a reaction like this. This does not work at all for me.

i have been using this for almost a year now and i love it. ill tell you about a recent use of this. My skin becomes extremely oily when i use a heavy cream moisturizer and with the combination of hot, humid weather.; i look like a mess. I ended up breaking out on my forehead, nose, cheek and chin. i'm an infamous popper of pimples when i am able to see a white/blackhead. After doing so, i applied the toner (dont apply to freshly popped pimples, it burns like hell esp. if you cant tolerate pain.) Anyway, i applied the toner at least 7-8x that day and even left a soaked cotton ball on the stubborn ones. now it is the second day.. and my pimples are completely gone.

i cant live without this toner!

This stuff is very strong! I use a little bit when I get the occasional pimple and it works perfectly in that regard but I wouldn't use it on my whole face since it feels very dry afterwards. However, it seems to work well on my sibling who has VERY oily skin and I have normal skin so maybe that's why.

I love this stuff! I don't use it everyday cuz it's pretty strong - but I get the occasional giganto-zit, especially at my jawline or under my chin, and this gets rid of it fast. I soak a cottonball with it once or twice per day and hold it against the culprit for about 30 secs, even the biggest zits are dried up and gone in a couple days. I'll also lightly sweep my entire face when my skin feels more oily than normal. I can see how it could really cause dryness if used too frequently, but if used sparingly it's like magic!

Pros:
-Affordable price
-Dries out pimples fairly quickly
Cons:
-High alcohol content and gross smell
-Stings when first applied
-Leaves a strange oily residue on skin after a few hours

It's not a miracle product but it does help clear breakouts faster and calm angry red pimples. I'd purchase this product again but next time the sensitive skin version.

Hmnnn where do i start from? This product is a little "Messiah" in a bottle for me. I have tried everything up to Retinol, Zinc Oxide, even use the Herbal capsules to ease my raging hormones. LOL And Yes i'm a 26 yrs old with zits of a14yrs old.

I am proud to say this is the longest my face has been Zit free with the help of this Orange baby. I marvel at how it gets to work, it exfoliates all your dead skin and immediately brings out skin shining. And then dries off those zits one by one, i mean i couldn't even believe that i have faithfully used Neutrogena for years whereas Clean & Clear was done for the same company.

This product is an heaven-sent, i combine it with the Morning Burst cleanser, followed by the Pore finishes and i then swab this "baby" all over my face. It sure tingles and you can actually see your dead skin been peeled on to the cotton swab.

I would say it dries off your skin but ... mann i have an extremely oily face plus i sit under the flourescent light in my office which makes my face run off easily. So what i do is use Ambi Moisturizer immediately, also made by the same company, all over my face to counter the dryness but maaan my face stays matte all day except if i decide to just run my foundation brush again.

I would definitely buy this product again, and all of these changes was within a week. I didn't want to speak to soon like i did with other products and then notice it stops working 3 days after i've been a spokeswoman for it. LOL this product will forever be on my beauty shelf, please Johnson & Johnson keep making this baby. I'm sold!!!!

It REALLY gets all the crap (oils, dirt, etc.) off your face. Unfortunately for me it just dries the crap out of my face. I find myself having to use a moisturizer immediately after this otherwise my skin dries up and flakes off! Also it has a tendancy to turn my face bright red after use so I only use it before I go to bed. Would recommend to someone with very oily skin, however I will look for something a little gentler next time.
