I got this as a full-size Birchbox sample. I would never spend that much on mascara. To be honest it performs worse than all the drugstore brands I've used. But, I always find ways to use products - I'm addicted to using this mascara as my "base coat" and "bottom lash" mascara. I add layers of Maybelline The Falsies or Colossal Cat Eyes over the top for the more full and dramatic look I like. I don't like those mascaras by themselves (too wet/clumpy) but a layer of this underneath helps define the lashes and prevent the wet formulas from clumping. Now I'm all about mascara layering and will continue to find two mascaras and wear them together.

Others mentioned that this mascara is dry. I had to add a few drops of water within days of getting it so that I could actually use it. Beyond the dry formula, Xtend is fine; a bit clumpy and smudgy, but gives a decent effect. I'll use what I have, but that's about it.

Have to agree with the reviewer below me - this is the worst mascara I have EVER used. Ugh. Why are modelco so inconsistent with their products?? I got this for christmas (came in a gift pack with the new turbolash wand, which is amazing btw) and oh man, it's just so horrible. Gives you cheap looking, clumpy, stumpy, tarantula lashes. YUCK. I applied to one eye before washing it off and throwing it straight in the bin.

This is the single worst mascara I've ever used. I don't know if it was old when I purchased it or if it was just the formula but it was sooo dry! (And I prefer a drier mascara). Plus, the wand felt cheap and flimsy (the brush itself was okay, but it would've suited a wetter formula better).

I don`t get this mascara. Yes you get a really natural look with this but you would with any mascara that is almost empty and dried out which is the feel of this one...
This didn`t lengthen my lashes either. I had to apply about 3 layers to actually get ANY effect. Bad stuff.

A pretty boring mascara - it flakes, doesn't apply particularly well but its black is pretty intense at first before it inevitably dries up and becomes goopy. I don't recommend it.

This is the most boring mascara I've ever bought. I have long, light lashes so most mascaras do the job of making them look good (they really only need color). This monstrosity does nothing for them. Adding to the "fun", it flakes almost as bad as Great Lash.

I bought this in blue and navy. The product was OK, I quite liked it. However, when it came time to remove it, I would find that 95% had worn off during the day! No staying power :(

I'm not sure if they have changed the formulation over the years, however when I first tried this product a few years ago (I actually received it a sample with some magazine) I loved it. I decided to repurchase a couple of months ago when I spotted a Model Co display at my local department store. And sadly, I'm disappointed. Yes, it imparts a beautiful black glossiness to lashes, however I find it does not hold a curl very well and after three or four hours, I have flaking under my eyes, even on the tops of my cheeks at times. Will not repurchase.

I highly recommend this to anyone who's choosy about mascara. This is a great all rounder -- it lengthens, stays on all day, and has a perfect sized brush so it's easy to use. If you like a heavy, dramatic eye this might not be for you. While it gives you a great look, it tends more to the natural side. The staying power is great. In fact my only complaint would be that this is sometimes a little hard to take off. But it's a minor quibble with something that's so good -- and I've tried all the top end brands. The price is good too --it's about $28 in Australia.

Woo! I'm glad I bought this. I saw all the good reviews here on MUA and consequently went out and bought it. It is a very nice mascara which defines your lashes really well and gives them a lovely curl. I love the fact that this doesn't clump or smear either. At the end of the day, I always start rubbing my eyes and get the panda-look if I'm wearing mascara - but not with this. I'm so happy with this.I think my eyes look so attractive with this on and would not hesistate to repurchase.

I swear by this mascara! I tried it for the first time when it was a freebie with a magazine and I fell in love with it. It can be applied to look dramatic as well as natural. This is the only mascara I need. I have friends that use several mascaras, primer, lengthen & curl, volumise - one after the other. What a hassle!

I've tried supermarket favorites like Maybelline (XXL & Great Lash). I've tried Napoleon Perdis (Madame Prep & Madame Fantasia) and MAC (Mascara X). None of which satisfied me. Problems with heavy lashes, clumping lashes, chemical smells, smudging, etc.

Firstly, I've always had a problem with under-eye smudging from mascaras by the end of a night out. ModelCo's Lash Extend does not give me this problem - It's waterproof and smudge-proof!

Secondly, not only does this mascara lengthen my lashes, it volumises them. I love the brush! It picks up just enough product. It doesn't separate my lashes into thick chunks. It defines and thickens each lash individually, making it look fuller. I have had friends ask me if I'm wearing falsies because of the effect they give when used with well-curled lashes. I'm Asian with what you'd call "small eyes", with a good eyelash curler and Lash Extend, it opens my eyes right up.

Thirdly, isn't heavy. So I don't feel a heavy load on my eyes and it doesn't uncurl my lashes like some other products.

Fourthly, I don't need to use eye makeup remover. When having a shower, I gently wipe over my lashes several times with my fingers and the mascara comes right off. Finish with a wipe under my eye cleans it right up!

Recommended.

my go to mascara for a long, black, defined lashes. definitely adds that tiny bit of something to your day time look. might not be dramatic enough for night time (depends on your needs though). it holds a curl so well, the formula is light and easy to use - not too dry or wet. the wand is narrow so you can get into the smaller lashes at the edges. this thing does not smudge/run/flake even in rain, but is really easy to remove with just water and cleanser. affordable and high quality. it is buildable but depends on the look you are going for - i prefer the natural, fluttery, defined lashes look rather than bulky fat lashes so i usually only use 2coats or so.

I've been using this mascara for 3 or so years now and I love it! It's the only mascara I've found that doesn't smudge or make my lashes fall out when I take it off.

It is easy to apply, doesn't clump and lengthens my lashes without making them crunchy or stiff.

If I want a really outrageous lash look I use it as a base for my Diorshow and I always got heaps of compliments.

The only way it could be better is if it volumised as well.. But you can't have it all!

The best thing is that when I take it off it doesn't take my lashes with it (every other mascara I've used makes my lashes fall out when removing, no matter how softly I do it) so 5 lippies for me!

I LOVE this mascara. Got this free in a mag too and was quite surprised by how well it works.

It lengths and adds volume to my lashes. The best thing is that it's smudge proof and lasts all day and night. I've walked in the rain with this and there were only a few small flakes that were easily brushed away. Unlike other mascaras that become runny black ink when it touches a drop of water. Comes off easily with warm water.

New HG mascara!! Like some of the others, i got this free with Harper's. Honestly i got it for the sake of getting a free item but this is amazing!
It not only lengthens like crazy but also thickens, giving me gorgeous fluttery lashes which is comparable to the best of them and i am a mascara fanatic. Currently i have about 8 mascaras in rotation and quite a few unopened ones. My previous HG was Hypnose but that didn't lengthen much and was a bitch to take off.
Lashxtend also holds a curl relatively well considering i have stick straight asian lashes (one of the only few waterproof ones that do). The biggest factor that has me raving about this is that it is TOTALLY SMUDGEPROOF which is just ridiculously amazing to me. Every mascara that i have tried has smudged on me, especially because i have poofy asian cheeks. But i slap this on in the morning and not a smudge by the end of the day ^^
I use this everyday and can't see myself living without it, will definitely buy once i run out.

This came free with last month's issue of Bazaar in Australia. I don't think much of any product that comes free with a magazine and but tried it for fun last week and it has surprisingly impressed me.

It doesn't make your eyelashes fuller or curlier but hey, it doesn't purport to either. It did what it was supposed to do fairly well - which was to lengthen my lashes. It didn't clump, the texture was good - wasn't too runny or thick.

What I was most impressed about was that it didnt smudge even after rubbing my eyes! Since the smudge factor is very important to me, at A$28, I will definitely consider purchasing one myself (if I ever need to - I seem to have an endless supply of GWP mascaras)

I am pleasantly surprised by this mascara. I just purchased this out of curiosity and initial observations are that it does indeed extend my lashes and goes on smoothly without clumping or bunching lashes together. The wand is quite easy to work with. I did not, however, observe any obvious "glossy coat" or shine as claimed by ModelCo. I compared its performance with my NARS mascara on bare, uncurled lashes. ModelCo Lashxtend performs very well, lengthening lashes far more than NARS, though the latter does thicken slightly more. Whilst neither mascara has a problem with clumping, the shorter NARS wand would have a greater propensity for clumping in my opinion. The outside packaging of the ModelCo mascara is a bit cheap and plasticky, particularly when juxtaposed with the uber-sleek NARS. Will be interesting to see how it stands the test of time. Given that Lashxtend is about half the price of the NARS mascara in Australia, it represents excellent value and I do intend to re-purchase it.
**** UPDATE: I've been using this mascara for about 6 months now and continue to love it. I've upped the rating from 4 to a 5 as it got better the more I used it. It gives me length and natural-looking volume without clumping and my first tube lasted a good six months of daily use. My firm fave ATM. A mascara will really need to rock my world to top this one****

I've had two compliments about my eyelashes since I started using this mascara.

It's the best I've ever used. It goes on easily without clumping, stays on all day and comes off easily.

This Mascara does work very well at lengthening my thin eye lashes, but i find that it is very hard to apply, it takes a long time, and is never quite even on both sides.

when trying to apply it, the brush just seems to glide over my lashes with out depositing anything on my lashes.

when im in a hurry i usually change the brush with a max factor masterpiece one.

removal is a brezee.
