This is one of my favorite shampoos. The texture is kind of strange since it is more like a paste than your usual liquidy soap, but if you spread it over your hands a bit and then rub them through your hair, it is easy to distribute, and you don't need to use all that much. I love the smell, and it makes my hair feel great, not stripped at all, and it's soothing for my scalp. I wish it were a touch less expensive, but the times I have gotten this for myself it's a nice treat.

I really had high hopes for this shampoo. When I first tried to order this, it was sold out. I figured with all these great reviews no wonder it is sold out. I have flaky patches on my scalp from psoriasis. Unfortunately, this shampoo did absolutely nothing for it. It cleaned my hair just fine, but any shampoo can do that. I was not impressed. I used the whole bottle; it never did anything for my scalp.

I have been using this shampoo for about 3 months now, having it bought it on the recommendation of the Sephora SA. Told him that I wanted a shampoo to help treat my oily, flake-prone scalp. He raved about this stuff.

Because my hair is dry and color treated, I try to only wash with shampoo about 3 times a week, and really try to wash the scalp only. Other times I skip washing or just do a rinse with conditioner. Since my scalp is oily, I look for a shampoo that will not dry my hair out, help control scalp oil and my flakes. It's a lot for a shampoo to deliver, so needless to say I am still searching. This stuff is fine as regular shampoo, and does seem to control flakes. However, it doesn't leave me feeling like my scalp is "clean" enough after a few days in between washings. In fact, I feel like I have to wash the very next day. It just doesn't control the oilies as well as other shampoos I've tried. I'm sure if I had a more normal scalp and hair, this would be a fine choice, albeit an expensive one. Won't be re-buying. UPDATE: OK, I've increased my rating of this product because I've recently switched over to another anti-dandruff product and boy, I now see the difference this shampoo has made. It really does eliminate dandruff, yet seems gentle. I just can't give it 5 lippes, however, because it is so dang expensive. Will likely rebuy, however, until I find something cheaper and just as good.

I have used most of the Fresh hair care line and have not been impressed with any of them except for this shampoo. I have dry hair and a dry scalp that sometimes acts up due to stress or hormonal fluctuations and my scalp becomes irritated and flaky. I have used dandruff shampoos, Neutrogena T-gel, Aveda Scalp Benefits/Remedy, Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo but nothing works for me like this umbrian clay shampoo does. I think it smells good and I let it sit in my hair for a bit before I wash it out. It definitely dries your hair out a bit in a clarifying shampoo kind of way so I would not use it more than once a week and I would follow it up with a good deep conditioner or leave-in. My hair is untreated so I don't know if it would strip color. I also swim and another added plus is that it helps get that horrible chlorine smell out of hair like nothing else and I've tried lots of swimmers shampoos too~ I do think it's expensive but as a reviewer below noted a little bit goes a long way. I will repurchase if I ever finish the tube.

LOVE THIS!!! I have oily hair, and this shampoo cleans like a gem. At first, I wasn't crazy about the price. But, I don't wash my hair everyday AND I switch between shampoos, so I can justify purchasing this. Besides, only a small bit is needed each time. It foams up pretty well. I have thick hair and a small bit of the shampoo does go a long way. This literally gets my hair squeaky clean. Yes, it does have a slight medicinal smell. But, I don't think that it lingers after it dries. The shampoo does a great job and gets my hair clean, like it is supposed to do.

This shampoo is amazing if you have oily scalp. It really cleanse my scalp well without making my hair dry. The shampoo is cream formula, but it lathers really well. If you expect this shampoo to smell as divine as the Soda shampoo, you'll be very disappointed. This shampoo smells medicinal, but not in a bad way. I will definitely repurchase as this shampoo controls my Seborrhea without being too harsh on my scalp.

This product is the best for dry or oily scalp. I'm very dry and my boyfriend is oily and it works great for the both of us! It is so stimulating and refreshing! and really does the job! It feels like a facial for the scalp! My hair is also dry so I always follow with the meadowfoam conditioner by fresh. The combination of the clay shampoo and the meadowfoam does wonders for my hair and my scalp!

Expensive, but a necessary staple in my hair care stash. Great for oily or irritated scalps, as sometimes mine is (grr). This is soothing and does an excellent job of cleansing my hair and leaving it soft and shiny. It's not at all drying on the ends of my hair, which is awesome. I switch between this and Fresh Soda shampoo, and have been for the past three months. My hair has never been better :]

I got a sample of this from Sephora and I was pleasantly surprised. This shampoo says it is for oily hair or a dry scalp, and having neither of these I did not have high hopes. What it did do was add moisture where needed and clean my hair really well at the same time. It smells sort of medicinal, but sort of refreshing at the same time. It is somewhat thick consistency, dark in color (from the mud) but lathers up really, really well. It left my hair shiny, smooth and full of volume. My hair just felt clean and healthy. I will definitley buy a full sized bottle.
