This is a pretty color in general, but I have trouble making it look good with my skintone. This is the only UD color that has ever given me this problem - it's beautiful, yet it washes me out. Very strange! Usually they work well. Wouldn't recommend for cool-toned pale-skinned girls, but I'm sure it looks lovely on warm toned skin.

I swatched this at Sephora and thought it was my HG green. Couldn't justify spending that much money on a single pan shadow, so tried a bunch of dupes that didn't work out before finally getting Mildew on eBay for about $12.
UD shadows (I have the Naked 1 Palette) are great quality. Generally they have good pigmentation, nice shimmer, smooth texture and long lasting ability.
Mildew is good for its texture and it does have a lovely shimmer to it but I was disappointed in the color once I actually put it on my eyelids. It came out a lot lighter than the swatch, so instead of being the dark army green I'd hoped for, it was just a so-so medium green shade. I was really disappointed that the pigmentation didn't translate for this shadow.

I have never found a green shadow that I wanted to wear with my brown eyes....until now. This stuff is amazing. It works great for a smokey eye too, with smog in the crease. I love it!

Mildew is such a great color to own because its a nice basic green color but it isn't flat. It's a shimmery green mossy golden color that is very pigmented and soft. I love to pair it with golds and browns such as urban decay's smog and a gold color I have from MAC. It looks good with brown eyes too.

I wear this green all the time. It doesn't matter if it is winter or summer, it is the perfect green. I have bought over 4 pots of these and it blends nicely with warm or cool shades.
I also have worn it as an eyeliner on the bottom lash, it is truly stunning.

I have owned this eye shadow for a few years now. I really love the green color. I recommend it being used at night though since it is so dark. It blends VERY WELL and compliments my eye color. My only complaint is that my eye shadow completely shattered after I dropped it once. I still use it, but sediment gets everywhere whenever I use it. I will buy this again because Urban Decay is my all-time favorite make-up brand.

This isn't a good color for me. Mildew shows up as a muddy color on my skin, as if I had smudged some dirt over my eye. It also has so much glitter that most of the time I see a golden sheen instead of any color at all.
It works well enough as a crease color but I'd prefer to have a shadow with a distinct color and less shimmer.

Whether used as a lid wash by day or vamped up by night, this unique green is a definite must-have for dark eyed brunettes with paler complexions! Highly recommended.

My first eyeshadow ever! I bought this along with Zero e/l to use my freshman year and I always sported that combination. I cried when this eyeshadow fell and shattered (I really did, as it was very sentimental to me). I plan on repurchasing this when I get the chance to!

The color of this is great! I have very light skin and blue eyes, but i'm very warm-toned, so the colors that suit me best are browns/golds/neutrals. This color is great if you're looking for an actual color. The pigmentation is really good and mildew has a really pretty gold undertone. Urban decay packaging is adorable, and the UD shadows I've tried blend really easily. This is great, but i took a lippie off because this is really expensive.

This was the first eyeshadow I ever bought from Urban Decay, and I absolutely love it! It is such a beautiful green colour. I have blue eyes, and prefer other colours on blue eyes, but wanted a really nice green eyeshadow in my collection anyway (I'm into green accessories atm). I have other greens but never use them since I don't like the look of them on my blue eyes, but this one I really like.
Mildew is well pigmented, and I have very fair skin, so when I wear it during the day I'll prime my eyelid with both a primer and a skin coloured eyeshadow before applying it - that way it doesn't look too intense for daytime. For nighttime I'll apply it directly onto my primed lid for a more intensely green effect. Although, if you have darker skin, it will probably come across as quite neutral on you either way :)
I definitely recommend you to buy this, it'd probably look good on just about everyone! I personally ordered it from asos.com without ever having seen it IRL, simply because of all the rave reviews here on MUA, and I don't regret it one bit!

Someone gave this to me. It has lasted forever, maybe thats because of the amount in the package or because you have to be wearing the right outfit for this green eyeshadow. Its a good green with not too much shimmer. I really like it but since I dont use it that much I dont think I would purchase.

I got this color in the UD show pony palette and it is my favorite color from the whole palette! LOL I actually depotted it and gave the other 5 colors & the palette to my cousin. :)
I am in loveeee!!!
The pan in the show pony palette was quite small (smaller then mac's), but I will definitely purchase a FULL SIZE when I do run out! Which will not be for quite awhile. :D<33
This is my favorite green along with mac's humid.. Their like BFF<3 :) AHAHA
I love the name UD gave it because when you think of "Mildew" you normally would think of mildew, algae, something gross and green...& this color isn't anything but gross..It's BEAUTIFUL<333 But I thought the name went with the color very well & that UD did an amazing job. :D <3333

I really enjoy this UD shadow..truly I do. I have it in the Ammo Box Palette as well as on its own so I don't think I'll need to purchase again. It is a lovely, drab shade of green with a hint of gold undertones...not too overwhelming. As with all UD packaging, I will always give 5 stars/lippies...but my favorite UD green is Vert. I've seen shades like Mildew in other lines so I tend to rate on the rarity factor as well as overall quality, which all UD shadows tend to share in excellence. I recommend this shadow, if you're looking for this type of shade..being the green fiend that I am, I'm not too wild about this one though.

I have this in the Ammo Palette, and of all the colors in it, this one and Shattered are the ones I wear the least, but only because I really like neutrals and purples so I'm more attracted to the other shades, but when I choose to wear it I really like it, it's live olive green with a little touch of gold, really pretty and flattering on my skintone.

I had such high expectations after reading so many rave reviews for UD ES. My first purchase was the Pony and Ammo Palettes. The colors look gorgeous in the pan and on my hand. I was bored and did my makeup as well as my eight and eleven year old daughters for fun. After applying UD primer potion to everyone, I used mildew and a highlighter shade on me, the blue color on one daughter, the purple on another. The glitter fall out was horrible on us all. Also, the colors went on bright but faded within two hours to a washed out looking color.
If I hadn't done my daughters and myself I would have thought it was just me as I'm 48 with very oily skin. I'm surprised the ES have such rave reviews. Compared to MUFE, LM, MAC and Lorac I'm very unimpressed. The look is so harsh and garish. Definitely not for me.

An olivey green with gold undertones. I can't really use this as a wash (I think it "competes" with my eyes which are also green), but kind of nice as a liner.

Nice dark green shade, not too garish looking. Looks good with my dark brown eyes. Subtle enough for work. would buy it again.

I love to expirement with eye shadows and I was never a huge fan of the green eye shadow family and now that i have tried this, i love it. The color is a darker, rich, golden tint shadow. Has some shimmer and it is beautiful.

The color descriptions are all quite accurate--golden green with a metallic sheen--but I just thought I'd mention that Mildew is not an obnoxiously glittery Urban Decay eyeshadow. I don't know if Urban Decay has frost, metallic, etc. finishes but to me, Mildew is more of a metallic shade. It is shimmery but not frosty and can worn as either an 8-5 workday eyeshadow when paired with more neutral and/or matte colors or played up dramatic and/or smokey for nighttime.
I find that Mildew looks best on me when I warm up my complexion a little with bronzer since my natural coloring (yellow-toned NC20 with nearly black hair and eyes) isn't really suited to warm eyes without a little help. Mildew would look fantastic on women with hazel eyes and on redheads.
