I really like the way this looks, it looks much more expensive than it was. I got it on clearance so it really was dirt cheap. Like a previous poster said it is definitely sticky so if you don't like that about your gloss, steer clear. The color is really subtle but definitely there- a nice daytime gloss. I HATE the applicator wand though! Its a brush, and it is already falling apart- I've only used the gloss a handful of times so far. I would still re-purchase, I just hope they fix the wand!

Doesn't impart a lot of color, just enough to give that "my lips, only better" look. It's a little sticky, but that doesn't bother me so much.
I docked one lipstick from my rating because I feel that the packaging could be better. There is only a sticker to keep it sealed, so it's very easy for people to open, try out, and put back on the shelf. Not very sanitary. Love it otherwise!

I keep coming back to this product. It looks like a high end gloss. It lasts and this color is the perfect nude-plus.

Love this color. Fits my caramel skin and doesn't look too made up. This makes my lips look sexier and gives it a hint of a warm pink color. Very moisterizing. This is my priciest purchase of a lip gloss $4.99 at Walmart.

It took me a while to warm up to this color, because I was expecting a J. Lo caramel (like it looks in the tube), but instead I got a very sheer buff color. But now I love it-it adds a subtle bit of caramelly pink and a lot of shine. Great for a polished, little makeup look. Moderately sticky.

I *love* this lipgloss. I wouldn't call it an "elegant cognac" shade, though -- more like a "my lips but better" caramel color with a bit of pink mixed in. I like the smooth feel of these glosses, though they can be a bit sticky (sticky-gloss-haters beware!) -- though of course that texture lends to its long-lasting ability. I can't say I feel any "treating" going on, from the "diamonds" or otherwise, but I love the color & the price ($2 in my Target clearance bin!).

This is my favorite Sally Hansen product to date. I love the smooth cool feel when applying it. The brush is nice and thick, but tends to get a little frayed when putting it back in the bottle. Just have to be careful with that. I love the fragrance...I wish it tasted the way it smells, but actually there is no flavor at all to it, which is also fine. Stays in place better than most glosses. I only have to reapply once during the day after lunch. This color is great too...I was going to go with a lighter shade, but glad I went with this one because it does add just a hint of color. Great price too!

This is a nice product, with pretty good staying power as glosses go. A sticky but still smooth texture, and comes in a long square tube with a brush applicator. It is more sticky and thicker than the Milani Crystal Gloss. It has a sweet fruity floral scent to me, but I don't notice it after I put it on. Elegant Cognac is a low key color on me, a plummy brownish color that looks one shade darker than my natural lip color (I'm a med toned Asian) but with a bit of added sparkle that isn't enough to make the gloss shimmery, but adds some depth. I tried a bunch of the colors on my hand at the store and this was the most opaque color, though it still goes on a medium sheer. What I don't like about this is the packaging. The brush applicator gets splayed, and loses hairs, the gloss sometimes oozes up and gets a little messy around the mouth of the tube. The product is nice, but not perfect.

EDIT: I'm knocking down a point because I'm not liking it as much after a month. The tube gets really oozy and messy around the mouth, don't like the weird tingly-numb feeling, the brush applicator is bugging, and the stickiness is too much for me. The color just isn't great enough to overcome these issues. So I find myself ignoring this more and more. Would not repurchase.

For me, this is the perfect nude lip...a creamy, milky brown. Love the silky formula and staying power is pretty decent. I would definitely repurchase!

I don't like using "YLBB" (I don't think it's descriptive enough), but this is YLBB for me. It's a deeper, slightly mauvier/plummier version of "Antique Bronze" (a creamy mauvey pink with a touch of brown-->perfect nude for PPP-MMM golden ivory/beige me), so it's a slightly darker version of my own lip color. Very polished. Perfect for the office or low-key makeup days. Like the other glosses in this line, this gives your lips a pretty, subdued shine (no blinding, mirror-like effect here). Texture is smooth and creamy, not sticky at all. Moisturizes lips and stays on for a normal amount of time for a gloss (approx. 3 hours). Comes with a built-in applicator brush, which is a nice touch. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 lippies is that I dislike the faint, vaguely chemical-y scent of these glosses. If the scent were more pleasant (to me), then I'd buy these in bulk :) Great value.

ETA: Okay, I couldn't deal with the scent anymore. I loved the look, feel, price, etc. of these lippies, but the scent was driving me nuts. It's not strong, but it really bothers me. Chanel Glossimer in Giggle is close to this, but a little pinker (it's also close to "Antique Bronze") and doesn't have any scent at all. It's more expensive, though (le sigh).

This is an elegant shade. On my medium pigmented lips, Elegant Cognac appears to my-lips-but-better. I'm glad this lip gloss is so sheer because I can't really pull off a thicker coverage color like this. (I feel as if dark lipcolors draw attention to me and not in a good way!) I'll put Elegant Cognac in a the mauve family. This, like the other Diamond Lip Treatments, is sheer enough to look different on everyone's lips, but may just as well work for everyone's skin tone. The texture is nice and for me is long wearing. In a ball-park range these lipglosses have lasted on average of 4 hours give or take. And they do not do weird things once they are fading. KWIM? lol So no white residue on my lips! I got this at my lifemate, Target, on clearance. Why isn't Target carrying these? But I'm sure they can be located at any other drugstore in the nation. in the tube,it looked like the perfect sheer brown w/ a hint of shimmer.on my naturally pigmented lips it came up very little color and shimmer.the staying power is pretty good and i LOVE the soft brush applicator.i also got it on sale for 2.99-but i dont think i'll repurchase because theres a million other lipglosses out there just like this. i might get this in a different shade though.**UPDATE** i really love this gloss and i can wear it with anything,i just really hate the sticky feeling after a while.

I'm rather boggled as to where the hint of pink comes from in this gloss. It really seems to have a brownish but with a bit of nude/pinkish effect on my lips whereas the tube looks plain milky brown. I really didn't think this color would work for me- I never wear brown lipcolor- but amazingly, this may be the first. Maybe its the sheer quality it has, or the lovely shimmer. While I'll probably reach for a few others in this line first, this is also really nice, and I imagine more warm toned girls will really love it.

Very nice gloss & you have to love the price (under $4). This is a light to medium cognac color (kind of chocolatey). No funky smell(the smell is rather pleasant) or texture, although there is a little "diamond" effect, it's not obnoxious nor for nights only. Texture is more medium and not as "heavy" as the Revlon Super Lustrous. I would definitely repurchase.

Elegant Cognac is a creamy chocolate milk beige-tan with fine rainbow shimmer throughout. On my pigmented lips, this is a shiny beige-pink nude with subtle glimmer.
I think the rainbow shimmer stands out more with a more sheer gloss base (such as with the Always Ascher shade), and becomes more of a hint of glimmer with the more milky shades.
