I just bought the large size body butter today - but fell in love with it already. I am so into maracuja oil (=passion fruit oil) thanks to Tarte. While the smell of this is quite strong, it is not overly sweet/irritating as in other "fragranced" lotions. Why I am crazy about this is that it kept my wintery hands moisturized for hours! While out shopping and using sanitizing wipes. I can not believe it. Love the consistency, soaked right in. Body Shop has specials for some scents (large packaging for $10) right now. I'm thinking about going back for more :) I put some in small to-go jars to keep in my purse and car.
1 lippie down for couple "unwanted" ingredients high on the list.

I honestly don't know why there seem to be so many bad reviews on this product! Here's the background story: I got this body butter and the papaya body butter for $5 each and free shipping!!!! Here's the kicker, the post office tracker said my package got returned so I called and the person at The Body Shop said it did so I got a refund, but the package arrived the next day! So I guess I technically didn't pay anything. Anyway, this smells awesome in the tub. It's fresh and sweet and smells like you could eat it! However, when I put it on my skin it only smells for a couple minutes then it goes away. That's okay for me, since I like to layer perfume with it. I would buy it again, but only if it was $5. It's a wonderful moisturizer but i wouldn't pay $20 for it normally because I would like to try other scents first. And I actually probably wouldn't pay $20 for any body moisturizer since I'm HUGE bath and body works fan and they usually have amazing coupons. But this was a great purchase to start trying Body Shop products.

Pros:
- purple packaging
Cons:
- hard, sticky consistency
- strong fragrance
- left skin itchy
Overall I disliked the Body Shop Passionfruit line, mainly for the smell, and it irritated my skin without providing moisturisation.

Like the shower gel, this body butter is light in comparison to others available at The Body Shop. It moisturizes, but not enough. Drier skin types will need something much more heavy. This body butter doesn't absorb well, either. It has a very strong passion fruit smell, so for those who like it, it'd probably be great to use during summer time. I hate the smell, so I wouldn't use it again, personally. I got this for free, but its price is the same as the other body butters sold by the store. The texture isn't very creamy... It's more solid than I would prefer, too. Normal skin types would work for this, but not my own.

I really liked this scent in the store and since it was on sale I decided to try it.
The consistency is nice and light (similar to satsuma) so it's easy to spread. The light purple colour is also very cute. :) It's a fairly good moisturizer too.
A major con would be the smell once you put it on. It seems to smell a bit different, not as pleasant as in the tub. I would not purchase again for this reason.

I tried alot of body butters and this one has a very strange scent. It smells good initially when you open the container, but it smelled almost plasticy when I put it on. I don't know if it just didn't mesh well with my chemistry or what-- will NOT be purchasing this one again!!

I bought this a while ago, I did not like it... it just sits there on my lips and when I wipe it off they are not moisturized! Ugh... smell wasn't too good either to be honest.

I love love love to eat passionfruits but this smells like sick. the only good thing about this is that is moisturises really well. not buying again though :(

I got it today, it was on sale for $10. I was told it's special edition but here I see it is on the market for a very long time.. hmmm, weird. Anyways, I love the smell and I love the color. Usually I do not like too sweet or/and strong creams but this one is really nice, not too sweet, not too strong. I love the color of jar and cream.. loveee :) Still, my favorite is Moringa but I wanted something different.

I absolutely LOVE the smell of this stuff. For me, I'm big on how stuff smells - if something I'm going to put all over my body doesn't smell good to me, I will not use it. The end. But this smells amazing - and the smell lasts if coupled with other products of the same smell, however alone? Not so much.
My skin is very dry - not just on my cheeks, but all over ): boo. However, this does well as a daily moisturiser. Once applied, I feel moisturised and soft. However, I also use a thicker moisturiser at night - this is due to my skin being like a desert, so for most people this might well be enough moisture!
Now for the negatives - it absorbs slowly, which for me is fine because I potter around in my underwear and don't get dressed till the last minute, but for some this could be an issue. Also, it can be pricey. The Body Shop often have sales where you can get the body butters with the corresponding shower gels for cheaper, but unless you catch it on that deal and use shower gel, it's pricey.
Honestly, I would buy it again and most of the other fragrances because I find it hydrating and smells amazing - however, I can certainly see why others might not. If you don't like strong, fruit smells or need something that absorbs quickly, this isn't for you.

I really didn't not like this body butter, its greasy, does not absorb well and does not moisturise. The only thing I liked was the scent but even that can become unbearable after some time as this just sits on my skin.

Not my favorite from The Body Shop. I love the texture - its not too thick, sinks in easily and spreads very well. My con is the smell. It smell great in the tub but the moment you start rubbing it in the smell becomes unbearable - very sharp and weird. The have much better butters to spend your money on!

I got this when it was reduced online. It is not particularly moisturising. One of the body Shop's worst body butters. The cream is a nice colour - the best thing about it. I'm not sure about the smell. It does smell of fruit - blackcurrants with a hint of cat's pee. Fortunately the smell does not last very long. Now i knwo why it was reduced in price!

Has this been discontinued? I wouldn't mind, as I didn't much enjoy the smell (got it as a gift). It's too fake, sweet and overpowering. Doesn't do much for my dry skin either.

i love the smell of this creme its smells really fruity and fresh, i bought this yesterday in the sale for £3 i have looked at buying it before but i thought it was quite expensive at around £12.
the one thing about this creme that i dont really like is the fact that it takes such a long time to sink into the skin, because of this i tend to use it before bed and i use white cotton gloves and apply the creme in the and wear them over night then when i wake in the morning the creme has sunk and my skin is lovely and soft.xx

I bought this body butter in sale, because it smelled so good in the tub.
Unfortunately, the smell gets really strong when it's applied to the skin and it takes ages for it to sink in.
The product does its job of moisturizing dry skin, but I'm not using it anymore because of the smell.

Yuck. This body butter is so sticky that it takes so much time to let it dry. Don't use it when you're in a hurry. It takes too much time to let it dry and not to mention it is still sticky after sometime. The good thing about this product is that the after effect of the body butter is very smooth. About the smell, I don't like it as well. It's not strong, but it smells like a normal candle scent and it's so irritating! I will never buy this product again.

I liked this product soo much when I got it, it had this lovely smell that matched passionfruit excatly. However, I used some recently and I don't know if this is beacuse it has gone bad or something, but now it just smells really weird!! I've had it less that a year. I have a few other body butters that I've had for the same time and they still smell nice and fresh. I don't know what's wrong with this :(

I personally found this formula to be greasy, even after several minutes of allowing the butter to absorb into my skin. The scent of the butter isn't very pleasant either, it smells more like fruit rinds than actual fruit. Also, it makes people with asthma wheeze a little. If you see this on sale, skip it.
