This was not so good.... My bottle also does not have the name of the fragrance printed on it, which is kind of strange. It is just a plain bottle and I ordered it directly from avon recently. I had high-ish hopes for this one. It smells like a kind of expensive spicy type soap you would find at TJ Maxx in a gift box. It's just a very soapy spicy smell that I don't really like. I had a friend smell it, too, when I was wearing it. Her initial review was that it was "not horrible" but not good, and when I had her smell it about an hour or two later she said it smelled "grosser". That might be a little harsh. I think it might smell a bit like Red Door by EA because when I smelled that lotion it reminded me of it, but I cannot be sure because I do not own Red Door. Definitely smells dated, and I don't get any tuberose from it, which some people had mentioned as a note.

At first spray, I thought not too bad but nothing special. I thought perhaps it would be okay for around the house at least but then after just a short few minutes, I wanted to scrub it off! Thank goodness I only sprayed it on my hand and not all over me! I could still smell it even after washing my hand 3 times with soap and finally twice with salt! I still could smell it!!! I am not sure what is in this perfume but to me it reeks worse than Night Magic. Why oh why would Avon discontinue fragrances like Topaz, Persian Wood & Chrisma but keep such stinky scents such as the two I got??? I read someplace on the Avon site that these were considered old classics?????? By who?!

I have a gazillion fragrances in every conceivable size and strength. I am an equal opportunity gal concerning fragrance- ie, I will wear Avon if I like it, and I own some very expensive stuff too. This is headache-inducing, which I have only experienced with 2 other fragrances-Angel and Giorgio. Yuck. not even as a bathroom spray.

I bought the skin softener for some odd reason. Honestly, I figured if these scents have been around for so long they must have some good qualities. After my bath the other evening, I slathered the lotion on and took a whiff and thought nothing special. It definitely has an old-fashioned scent at first. The dry-down isn't too bad though. And the funniest thing is that although I have a dresser-top full of expensive fragrances, this 1.99 skin softener won rave reviews from my husband. Go figure.

Candid always smelled odd to me. Like a sharp man's cologne packaged for a woman. It didn't smell terrible, just really odd. The new Candid Summer heat smells even odder. If Candid smells like the 1980's, Candid Summer Heat for 2011 smells like the 1970's, very dated, and that's not a good thing.

I simply do not have the money to spend on expensive perfume so I have always been on the lookout for affordable scents that are easy on the nose and pocketbook. This fits the bill! I have worn this off & on for many years (since the 80's!) and it still a staple on my counter. It is an Oriental floral and so distinctive. I tend to gravitate to the Orientals with Ciara having been my signature scent for many years. The best reason I have for continueing to wear Candid....when men hug me they often say, "You smell so good!". I wear my scent in my hair.

A strong powdery scent, not my type of perfume. Gave me a headache.

Smells quite sharp upon first spray. Dries down to a very smooth finish, quite unique, a bit green and pleasant. The sandalwood is unusual to me in fragrances but even though it is reminiscent of incense it still stays fresh through out the day. It's got a satisfying depth to it that I like and while it appears to be overpowering at first, it seems to stay close enough to the skin for me to feel comfortable wearing it. And, boy, the price can't be beat!

First, I really used to love only the soft and light fragrances, nothing too harsh, but for some reason, I can no longer wear the light fragrances as I do not detect anything! Now, I seem to do well with fragrances such as Skin Musk, Coty Wild Musk, Night Magic Musk, Soft Musk, Rare Gold and now Candid. Some of the above were scents that I never cared for! But they work! Candid is quite nice. I get a warm, light, incense, powdery-floral scent. Not too heavy. The note I really seem to pick up on is the sandalwood, which, like musk and amber, I can do well. Lasts pretty well. Not priced bad either and it doesn't smell cheap. UPDATE:The more I've worn this, I just don't care for it. Someone mentioned, above, Giorgio, well this kinda is like that! It also reminds me of the perfume, JOY. Just too sharp for me. I actually thought I'd prefer this over Timeless, but I'd rather wear Timeless.

This Avon classic is a very basic, incense -y, powdery sandalwood. When I first spray it on it is very mossy and chypre. The dry down is just like Natural Indian incense. Beautiful, but just not me.

I saw this in a recent avon book in the dual phase rolllette and remembered liking it in my past. I also got the perfumed skin softener and the powder so I could layer it. I am loving this more than I did when I was in my 20s and my husband loves it too. I would call it a daytime fragrance, light, sweet, yet sophisticated. Great staying power on my skin and the dry down leaves a special note that is so fresh. like I just got out of the shower fresh.I am finding out I am more of a budget perfume type of person.. perhaps because the notes are not as complicated or heavy as the expensive brands. I tried all of the Victoria Secret smells and could not stand one of them how strange. I am going to buy the spray of this next for about 7 dollars.

Candid is a powdery, slightly green floral that smells like a lot of popular fragrances from the 70s and early 80s (think Anais Anais, Jontue, Chloe, etc.) Very nice, as long as it isn't overdone, but why do I feel like I should be wearing a shag hairdo and bell bottoms?

I got this in a big e-bay Avon lot and it brings back memories of childhood because it was one of the first perfumes I ever wore, next to Love's Baby Soft. The dry-down is very nice hours later. It is more of a potent fragrance, very 80's, along the lines of Ciara but I don't mind because I like to wear so many different fragrances that a change is nice.

I remebered this from the 80's and was interested in trying it again. This is a blend of jasmine, rose, sandalwood and vetiver. The initial scent is quite pleasant and I am able to detect all 4 notes. However, the dry down on me is strongly scented sandalwood, which is too masculine for me.

I tired Candid back in the 80's and I have got to say that it smells nicer now than it used to. I don't remember it smelling that good when I was in high school. It comes in a small pocket sized spray now for $2.99 from Avon so you can carry it with you in your purse. It smells clean, flowerey and just plain nice. I like it a lot. I have used 1/2 a bottle in a year and considering how many perfumes I have that says a lot.

Got this from Ebay. This smells very similiar to Estee Lauder's 'Beautiful'. More suitable for my mom.

One of my favorites! Very refreshing floral. Wish it lasted longer. I wish they still had it in small sizes - I can't carry the big bottle in my purse. Since it's a spray I can't transfer to a purse size container. But love the scent!
Update - Well, I've discovered how to decant into purse sprayers so that issue has been resolved. Am finding that as I get more mature, my scents last better so I'm finding this is lasting quite a while. The skin softener is quite fragrant as well. I really am loving this and will continue to purchase. Have upped it's lippies!

This is more of a classic scent. I like it a lot in colder months, for a "perfumey" scent that won't make others around me choke or pass out. I guess it's a clean floral. I'm bad at describing scents. It's bold and it does last all day but doesn't make me sneeze, something many perfumes do. If you like "perfumey" scents with no traces of sweetness or fruityness, this might be good for you.
