I wore this lipstick on my wedding day since I didn't want to leave a big lipstick mark on my new hubby and I didn't want to worry about touching up all night. The color is a little bright but I only apply to my lower lip and roll my lips together to transfer the extra color. This gives it a nice more natural appearance. The gloss isnt too sticky or runny. It does look better once a little of the wet looknof the gloss has worn off though. The packaging isn't as elegant as other Chanel products but it's not bad.

Okay, so when I tried it on in the store I fell in love instantly. Then, a few hours later it left a ring on the edges of my lips, not so pretty. When I reapplied using the doe foot, it turned out to be a garish magenta pink that looked clownish on my very pale skin. I almost returned it but am thrilled I didn't. The next day I tried applying just a bit with my finger. A little goes a long way! It gave my lips a perfect rosy color that is a few hairs darker than natural. I followed it with the gloss and I am in love. The gloss isn't sticky at all and actually lasts longer than most glosses out there. The color itself lasts for a good 5-6 hours with me drinking and eating. Longlasting lipstick is usually pretty drying on me, so I was really impressed at how well the gloss prevented that. Now, I'm planning to get it in another color.

I used to use this every day. For years. Now I use Mac, as I'm a little bored of this. They are more natural too. But I still miss the magenta tone in this rose...

LOVE this color. i ONLY buy it for the lipstick half. it's the only color that looks good on me, but it doesnt apply too well.. weird consistency, and it dries my lips out a lot. but the color is just too pretty.

I love the color of this for my lips even though the consistency of the stain is kind of bad, it doesnt go on smoothly and evenly...but i love the color that it gives my lips so much that it doesnt really matter, the gloss is kind of sticky, so you have to be careful not to put too much on....

Not sure why this is categorized as a lip gloss when this is in the standard (long-lasting) lipstick category, but here is my review...
I bought this on my recent trip to US as this product is not available in Canada. It was expensive, if I recall correctly around $35 USD, but I really wanted to have this one and the Alexandrite colour. Between the two, I probably prefer Alexandrite which is basically a deep red colour.
Rose quartz isn't bad, but as others have pointed out, it tends to have a chalky bubblegum pink effect if you apply too liberally. If you don't, you can end up with a nice nude-y rose colour on your lips. To prevent the chalky effect I apply this colour lightly with my fingertip vs. the wand, plus, applying the included clear gloss will definitely remove some of the chalky effect.
The longevity is decent, but I do have to reapply after the meal if I am eating something with oil.
Overall, not a bad lippy, but not perfect, so I will not repurchase.

Decided to give this one a try, as I had never tried the long-wearing type of lip color before and had read some raves here on the boards...but this didn't work out for me...the color seemed a nice MLBB mauvey tone in the store, but once I saw it in real life outdoors it was definitely bubble-gum pink. As for long wear, it does wear forever, but I disliked the feel of the product once the glossy topcoat had worn off (which happens quite quickly) and by the end of the day the color actually did start to wear off...in little crumbly bits...not an attractive look. So this one is going back to Chanel...probably for another Rouge Hydrabase...

I was so jaded but one more try...withe long lasting lip glosses out there.
I was stunned I mean it stays even overnight and doesn't flake or look weird it stays like a stain.Hard to take off.I am not crazy about the gloss it tends to run but I have used others and it did not affect the duration of this new marvelous product.Hope they make more colours.

This is what I have been waiting for all of my life! I love it! I tried it at the counter and went to a friend's house for dinner, had 3, count'em 3 crunchy tacos got home and the color was still there! The question wasn't whether I was going to buy it, the question was which COLOR. I bought the Rose PEARL two days later and I've worn it everyday since.
When I put on the first color layer I smile really big to stretch out my lips to prevent the teensy bit of dry feeling (nothing like the lip stainy things I've tried in the past) and then I apply the gloss. I've even put lipliner (Chanel precision nude) underneath and then the color to darken the shade a bit and it worked even better!
I can't wait til Chanel comes out with more colors! Something like Lovechild by Mac would be PERFECT.

Don't listen to the folk who say this "looks great on everyone" because in fact, it doesn't. It is a very pink pink when you put it on thick. I have a very light complexion and it looks like barbie makeup if I put it on regularly. It is not the same neutral shade that shows up on the Chanel Website.
However, this HAS turned out useful. If you want the pinkey spring look, this can be tolerable if after you apply it sparingly with the applicator, you smooth it out over your lips. I use my finger to do this, which is a bit annoying due to how hard it is to get the color out. Also the finger is not as exact as the applicator, so if you make a mistake, you'd better have some makeup remover on you to fix it or your lips are going to look a little funny. When done this way, the shade isn't so bad. But I'd rather have a lipstick that just matched a natural looking shade instead of one that has to be diluted heavily for thisshade.
Another use I've had this for is for "pinkening" out lipstick that is too brown. It's been a nice color to mix with others which need a bit of pink.
Another negative on this is after it has been on a little while, it can look like chipped paint on your lips. If you put it on sparingly it doesn't do this, however, I HAVE had the annoying chipped paint look from it more than once. Although, to be honest, this product is a little better than the Clinique in not looking as bad over time.
The gloss of this product is nicer than Mac. Mac has a very funny taste and smell, and this gloss doesn't. The Chanel gloss also looks nicer and has a nicer looking sheen I think right after you put it on.
Lastly, the actual packaging on this product is nice. A lot of lipsticks like this have packaging where the gloss-side of the applicator doesn't close all the way, or simply gets stuck or separates from the rest of it. However, this product has not given me any trouble with the packaging.

Even though this was way expensive for lipstick, the color is wonderful and it really stays on well. If I count all of the JUNK that I have thrown away because the color was wrong or it slid off in twenty minutes, this would be a bargain. I will definately repurchase. The rose quartz is a very nice color, I think it would like good on most who are fair to medium complexion. Looks natural, not heavy.

I found this to be a great lipstick--in the long wearing category. The color goes on smoothly, and the clear topper provides nice gloss. Make sure you exfoliate lips if you have flakies because this will only accentuate them. Also, it can be a bit drying, so a good balm prior and after is necessary. You can get a good six hours of wear from one application, depending on if/what you eat in those six hours. If you are going to have something to eat with oils (even salad dressing) be sure and coat with the clear coat prior to chow time; this seems to prolong the wear. If you do lose your color, wipe lips off with a clean tissue and reapply the color and gloss. I really like this color--sort of a nude look for me(but lighter than my lips). The price, however, is really outrageous for the tiny amount of product you get. Still, I'd repurchase because of quality and color. If you are looking for a cheaper substitute, try Almay. They have a great long wearing lip color--though the colors are not as good for me as Chanel. I did find a pretty Rasberry color from Almay, however, that works for me and provides (at least) as good wear as the Chanel (and about 5 times cheaper too!)

Love this color. Neutral pink. Looks great on everyone -- its bright a pale face and sultry on a darker complexion. Love love the new Chanel glosses for their staying power. I own Mandarin Coral, Amethyst and Rose Quartz. All perfect.

Always on the search for long-lasting lippies, I decided to try this one. Typically, my problem with long-lasting lippies is that they ball up and flake off your lips halfway through the day. That was the prob that I had with Max Factor and Cover Girl, and even L'Oreal. The Revlon ones just left a very unattractive ring around my lips. Prior to the Chanel, the only one that was decent was the Lancome Juicy Wear, but I hated having to carry around a lipstick and gloss separately. So, I put down the $30 for the Chanel... the color Rose Quartz is a pinky nude color with slight shimmer (it looks more shimmery in the tube than on the lips). If you put on too much, it DOES look a little bright (at least on me... I have naturally pink lips), but you can apply it sheerly, and then it just looks like YLBB. What I was most impressed about was it literally lasted ALL day! I put it on at 8AM, and I had to use an oil-based makeup remover to rub it off at 11PM! Granted, it did fade a little throughout the day, but it faded evenly, and never once did it come off on my napkin or on my glass or straw. (I drink water constantly throughout the day.) I did have to take off one lippie because it is very drying. My lips get chapped easily, and I had to keep applying the gloss during the day, and super-intensely moisturize my lips that night. I wish they gave you more of the topcoat, but the SA did say that you can use any gloss on top of this more multiple effects, so I will try doing that. I want to try the peach color that just came out for Holiday, and I hope they come out with more colors!

This is a perfectly fine lipstick and it lives up to its claims. I wouldn't recommend it though because it is no different than Revlon's ColorStay lipstick and costs more than 3x's as much. In fact, I think I prefer Revlon's b/c it wears off evenly, whereas Chanel's wore off on my bottom lip, but stayed on my upperlip and on one corner of my mouth! Mind you, I noticed it at 4 am when I went to wash my makeup off after a night out (which means it lasted a good 6 hours), but I still like Revlon's b/c it fades naturally and lasts well over 8 hours! I wouldn't be nearly so critical of this if it didn't cost $30, which to me is a lot to pay for lipstick. In fact, I wouldn't even be reviewing it. It's just too boring.

Wow. This stuff STAYS. Like its hard to remove, you really need an oil-based remover to get it off. So don't screw up. But seriously, its a fabulous product. Goes on really smoothly, you can spread it very nice for about 30 seconds. It says to let it dry for a minute before putting on the gloss that comes on the other end, but you can use any gloss you want. I got Rose Quartz, a rosy pink color on the bright side, but still natural looking. Doesn't dry out my lips, come off, or ball up. Definately an HG for a longwear product, just wish it came in more colors (I think 6 are available and at least 4 are scary), and it wasn't so expensive ($30 US).

This shade was too pink for my PPP complexion. It made my face look washed out in comparision. The gloss has a paint like consistency. The clear gloss that you put over the color is nice, although pretty standard fare. This was a pretty standard, boring gloss. Nothing fun enough about this to warrant a $30 price tag. I guess if you're looking for a gloss you don't have to reapply often you could give these a try but make sure to test the colors first ;)

If you are looking for a neutral, every day lip color with true staying power, buy this lipstick immediately!! This is my second Rouge Double Intensite purchase. I also own Amethyst. I thought the Rose Quartz was going to be too bubble-gum pink for me but it is not. It is truly my lips but better. I'd describe it as a neutral, dusty pink shade with just enough color that I'm not washed out. I'm a PPP, if that helps, and nude lips tend to wash me out. Huge rave for this one!!

This is my third color of Chanel Rouge Double Intensite. I have amethyst and ruby lite. Rose Quartz is the perfect daytime lip color for me. I like the double sides of this lipstick (it is ridiculous that this is listed as gloss under the reviews as it is a long wearing lipstick plus the gloss that goes on top). I don't find the lipstick terribly drying on it's own but the lip gloss - which is excellent on it's own does definitely make it more comfortable on my lips. This is a nice light-medium pink on my lips. These lipstick combinations are expensive but the lasting power makes it worth the money. I hope Chanel comes out with more colors options as right now they are very limited.
