I love this perfume. It's a nice soft fragrance and I mostly wear it for the office. I don't find that there are any real "stand out" notes in this, but I do enjoy it from first spritz until the end of the day.
I have gotten more compliments wearing this fragrance than any other, and after 5 years have still not gotten tired of it. I would say this is probably the most understated fragrance I own, but it will always have a place in my collection.

Ive smelled perfume like this far too many times. Its smells generic, nondescript, and painfully boring. Its like the smell of a perfume shop after every perfume has been spritzed into the air, sort of a conglomeration of scents. I cant seem to pick out a note. It smells like perfume for the sake of perfume. No heart, No soul.

Somehow this like bad alcohol, too sharp and not at all lady like. Not for me.

this is my all-time favorite perfume. I get so many compliments on how it smells on me. I love it. I wear nothing but this perfume. If it is ever discontinued, I don't know what I'll do!

I'm reviewing a sample of Armani Mania for Women (2004 release) that I've been testing over the past couple of days. Here are the notes listed on Osmoz: Top notes: Moroccan bay leaf, Green Mandarin Orange, Black Currant, Pink Pepper; Heart notes: Magnolia, Peony, Lily-of-the-Valley, Provençal Iris; Base notes: White Sandalwood, Virginia Cedar, Amber, Vanilla, Musk. It starts off clean and soapy-floral on my skin, then quckly turns to soft woods, with a vanilla/amber/musk base to add a cozy sweetness. The progression is rather quick, and I like to re-spritz periodically so I can enjoy the top and mid notes again. What I really like about Mania for Women is that the woods are subtle and restrained, not like you're standing in a lumber mill, and there is no patchouli. This is a warm, yet *clean*, fragrance. I enjoyed smelling it on myself when I woke up this morning - a sweet, clean, skin scent. It's long lasting, just rather soft on your skin when it dries down, so you may lost track of it over time. It's pefect for my casual suburban lifestyle, a very pleasant scent that stays in the background while I'm going about my daily errands, etc...yet it's pretty/sexy enough to wear to dinner or a night out. It's not mind blowing, shocking, or unique (and nothing manic about it either), just an all-occasion, very wearable fragrance. Which are the kind I reach for most often, and the full bottles I tend to use up. Of all the department store woodsy fragrances that were released in 2008, I think this one from 2004 is the nicest. :) Another winner from Armani for me, though I'm late to the bandwagon.

Not as great at the samples in magazines. But it is very indulgent and I do like it. However I warn you against buying the lotion. The spray and shower gel, fine, but the lotion is awful! It doesn't smell like the actual perfume at all and is downright hideous.

Generally a lovely fragrance. Love the packaging - very simple and sleek, just like all other Armani bottles. Men love it, commented on it... the smell does disappear after a while, probably because I don't realise it's presence - a sign of a good fragrance is not to irritate your nose anyway. Love it and will buy it again.

This falls into the category of "woody oriental" which is the same category as Betsey Johnson...which I love...but I'm not a fan of this.

I just bought Armani Mania after MUCH deliberation, and am so happy with my purchase! I sprayed it on a couple of hours ago and it smells amazing - a soft, subtle, clean, floral vanilla. I was looking for something for the Fall/Winter that wasn't too heavy or sweet, and I think this is perfect.

(Edited to add) SIGH. It's three days later, and my very picky fiance hates it. He thinks it smells like a department store, and now I can't get the comparison out of my head! Every time I smell it now I think of Marshall's. I think this one might be going back. :(

This is a fabulous wintertime fragrance. It has a woody-musky smell that is warm and cozy. I receive compliments all the time when I wear Mania. It has great staying power, and I'm so glad that it works wonderfully with my body chemistry. I'll definetly repurchase when my bottle runs out.

This perfume is perfect ! Very classy, sexy, not overwelming, and the staying power is one of the best I have seen. It dries down to a beautiful woody musky scent. On me, it's like a slightly sweet and powdery/musky peach. I love it !

Really nice subtle fragrance. Mania sounds like a freaky name but the perfume itself is suited to daytime as well as nighttime. I took some points off because it's hard to get the lid back on - it has to be lined up just right sort of like on an asprin bottle. Annoying but not a big deal.

Love this fragrance. Was searching for a nice, heavier scent for the winter months and this fit the bill perfectly. Smells slightly spicy and warm on me with more of a vanilla drydown...but not too 'foody' vanilla. I get tons of compliments on this scent.

It's not a bad fragrance but it's not for me, reminds me of J'Adore but it's a little muskier and a lot sweeter and cloying, and later it seemed a lot like Samsara which I absolutely HATE and which gives me a headache. This isn't so bad as to give me a headache but I wouldn't buy it.

This is pretty, sweet, warm fragrance...nice but not very complex. Drydown is so-so, not very impressive. Nice simple pakaging. I like this type of fragrance (semi-oriental or floral-oriental, warm and slightly sweet) but I would like something of a more complex composition and better quality.

This, is by far my HG fragrance. It's a very sensual smell, it's a very heady and spicy vanilla scent, but I still think it "sparkles" if that makes any sense at all! It's slightly heavy but in a good, musky way. I get so, so many compliments on this. I used to wear this when I waitressed at a country club for a year and I swear I got higher tips and the chefs in the kitchen were nicer to me, too! The bartender even confronted me in the kitchen one night and said, Girlie, you smell dee-licious! It's a really great fragrance. I must say, though, I recommend it more for evenings.

Perfume is such a personal thing, so it seems weird to be rating this because scents change on everyone's individual body chemistry. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones whose body chemistry really works with this perfume. I love it, and frequently get compliments on how nice I smell.

i'm using my 5th bottle at the moment and i love how it smells... i bought this while i was in search for a more grown-up fragrance and this turned out to be exactly what i wanted... it is not too heavy and overpowering, but still it doesn't have a too sweet, childish fragrance... i will definately keep on buying...

I fell in lust with this fragrance 18months ago. i could not stop smelling myself.

But I have gone off it now to the point that I can no longer wear it - it makes me gag. A woman who sat beside me on the bus recently was wearing it and I actually had to change seats. I was gagging. Go figure. I wanted so badly for the torrid affair with this fragrance to last, but alas, I now despise it.
