I have very sensitive skin! I wasted a lot of money on products before I found Avene products. Everything from Avene is wonderful and Ystheal is my favorite product. My skin is better than ever and finally I feel buying stuff that actually works! I totally recommend Avene products. I was introduced to these products by a dermatologist and I love them ALL!

I use Ystheal, Eulage (eye), Serenage, Eau Thermale, and Tinted Compact (SPF 50). ALL wonderful :)

rave - light with retinol dehyde? lighter than the LRP retinol cream and has been treating my skin well - not extremely drying and i can definitely tell that my skintone is even out and finelines are diminishing in 2 weeks.

This cream has completely transformed my skin, so here's my rave:
I'd been suffering from mild but very persistent adult acne for a few months: I had one or two new pimples every day, sometimes small, others painful and bigger, and some persistent blackheads on the sides of my cheeks. Nothing I did made any difference until I started using this. After a couple of days, I already noticed the difference in the texture of my skin: much smoother, no bumps underneath, no clogged pores. My skin is slightly dry and at first I didn't find this moisturising enough but now my skin seems to have got used to it. When I wake up my face doesn't feel tight but there's also no excess oil produced.
I've been using this for almost 2 months now and I still haven't got rid of all the pimples, but now they are restricted to a few days (probably hormonal) and they heal significantly faster overnight (when I use this). What's more, I have visible sebaceous filaments on my nose that used to get super clogged but I never had that problem anymore. My skin is luminous, smooth and I keep the rest of my routine really simple because I trust Ystheal to do the job. Now I'm only afraid of what might happen if one day I stop using this :) For around 20 euros you can't get anything better!
(oh, if only it wasn't peachy coloured - it does stain my pillow-cases a lot!)

Wow. My skin has never looked this good (and I'm coming off a rough patch where my skin was under severe environmental stress). I'm 36, and my skin looks better than it did in my 20s. OK, I have a few fine lines on my forehead, but it's clearer and more radiant now!

I recently switched from the Ystheal Emulsion to the Ystheal Creme. While the emulsion was good, my skin veers toward the very dry side, especially in winter. The Creme has been perfect.

I started using the Creme about 2 weeks ago. Last week I realized that I didn't need to wear a base anymore (I have been wearing Laura Mercier's mineral powder to even things out). My skin is even-toned, glowing, perfectly clear. I've made two minor adjustments to my skincare routine recently: using the Ystheal Creme and adding a moisturizing serum as well (I'm really dry).

There is a light scent; it doesn't bother me. It hasn't irritated my skin. The peach color is fine, because it's meant to be worn at night.

I had read a number of reviews on the Avene line since I had been intrigued by the products Duane Reade stores. Anyway, I'm glad that I tried it for myself. Before using Avene's Ystheal+Cream (colder months) and the Emulsion (warmer months), I used Olay's Regnerist serum for many years. I noticed that within the past couple of years, it was not as effective as I was getting older. Anyway, I do not have visible wrinkles, but the skin texture was not as smooth. I used to shy away from retinol products, because they were a bit too harsh. However, this Avene line is so gentle. It made my skin soft and youthful. I use it every night and occasionally mix it with a SPF lotion during the daytime. It works well under my make-up. It's the only anti-aging product I use, and I love it. I've given it to friends and family. I'm on my third tube. Only drawback is that you can't tell when the product is running low.

When it comes to wrinkles, there are other products out there that can provide an immediate effect. I’m a big fan of hyaluronic acid serums to help plump and smooth on a daily basis (I really like skinceuticals for this). It’s still important to have a comfortable retinoid that goes further than a superficial band-aid, to help to smooth and clear the skin on a deeper level, and it really does take a few months to notice whether or not it's working.

Avene Ystheal and Eluage have been my favorites, because they use a derivative of retinol (retinaldehyde) that is so much less harsh, but still equally strong. Avene was my starter brand, because of that, thanks to a lot of patience and research on the skin board. Always looking for the next best thing, I tried out Skinceuticals .5 and 1 percent retinol formulas for about a year, and was constantly exfoliating and embarrassed by flaky skin the whole time… I had to dilute the stuff with other serums and Vit E oil so much, that it wasn’t even helping my wrinkles anymore. All the little lines that I had erased with avene came back. I don’t usually advocate a brand, but I can really get behind avene’s form of retinol… not sure if it’s available elsewhere. I can apply their treatments pretty liberally at night, and not have weird skin the next day. Since I’ve switched back, my wee starter wrinkles are now smooth again.

Approaching 30, I’m very sensitive to any sign of creasing… I’ve found out the hard way that overhauling my foundation and primers is a real lost cause. If you find the right stuff to take care of your skin, you spend so much less money trying to cover up its flaws. Big thanks to the MUA community for all the help :)

My favourite anti-ageing cream for three years now. It contains vitamin a, which is perfect for my combo-acne-prone skin.
I use it as a night cream, which is recommended when it comes to creams, that contain vitamin a.
In Europe, there are two versions of the cream, one for normal to combination and one for dry skin.
I had to buy the one for dry skin the last year, cause the other one wasn´t rich enough for me anymore. But even with the richer formula, I didn´t get any breakouts.
I don´t think that this cream works for women with dry or very dry skin, beause vitamin a tends to dry out the skin.
And a little warning: There are women, who really don´t react very good to vitamin a. You should test it on your arm, because it can irritate the skin.
In the wintertime, I have to add argan oil and a moisturizing serum underneath the cream, because otherwise, my skin wouldn´t have enough nourishing ingredients over night.
Still,I love this cream very much and it works!! I really don´t have any wrinkles at all and I´m 34.

This is bad - I tried using it as day cream and night cream, it just didn't work either way. For day, it's too heavy and BALLS UP when I tried to apply makeup ... for night, it's not hydrating enough even I applied hydrating serum ... bad bad bad ...

Ugh, I'm through with any product that touts days worth of stinging as a good thing! I'd go outside into a gentle spring day and my skin would begin to tingle and burn after only a minute, even wearing a large brimmed hat and staying in the shade. To me, that's just ridiculous. I'd like to live my life like a normal person rather than slowly burn my face off in the search for eternal youth. Oh, and I did suffer through a couple of weeks using every other or every third day; not much happened results-wise. I'm not going to stress my skin and avoid daylight like a troll when there are better alternatives, lol. I'll pass, thanks very much!

I listened to the advice of the Shopper's SA and bought this product. I am in my early 30's with mildly acne prone, combo skin. I have a line in my forehead that is bugging me, so I was looking for a good anti-aging cream. I found the cream to be too thick and a bit oily. It totally clogged my pores (with visible blackheads after using it), smelled weird and generally felt heavy. I threw out the bottle after about three weeks, I felt like I really wasted my money on this one. Very disappointed.

I got this as my first anti-ageing cream (im 23). I have overall blotchy skin, some fine lines, dry skin & i get hormonal outbreaks around my chin.I smoke & drink....and generally dont look after myself too well. But this cream makes me look like i do! I apply it at night all over my face - i use it really close to my eyes too. After the first night - i noticed a visible clarity in my skin & now 5 days in people have commented on my skins glow - my mother was hugely impressed & wants a bottle now too!. I had no problems with stinging/peeling - which i was worried about as i have dry flakey skin that is irritated by harsh weather etc.I get no smell from this - it is a peachy colour when applied but this goes soon. Overall my skin looks so much better - its amazing, i can see it looking smoother too - i guess only time will tell if it has any effect on my lines. I look human in the mornings! I can only hope that it keeps working so well! *fingers crossed*. It cost me 32.50euros in Ireland. EDIT : after 6 months of using this i saw an obvious improvement in my skin overall - it was brighter & i got less breakouts. My local Boots stopped stocking the Creme so i tried the Ystheal Emulsion (i have reviewed that). I no longer use the Ystheal Creme - i found it heavier than the Emulsion even on my dry skin & out of the 3 Avene Retinoids i have used it is my least favourite but still a great product if it works for your skin type.

I found this creme to be really good on the first few weeks of using it my skin was soft and lines looked smoother. I later found the pores on my face became open and very visible.
It is a very heavy creme. Worst of all I eventually developed very bad Milia (white spots around eyes) and loads of them...very big ones and very tiny ones in the bags under my eyes. After a few months of using this creme the condition of my skin was terrible and I am not able to get rid of the Milia spots. I really do not recommend this to anyone.

Pure love! I never quite understood just how much this product did for my skin until I stopped using it for a few months. After a few weeks my face just started to....fall apart. Or that's what it felt like. I thougt about it every day all the time and couldn't wait to get more. The results may not be dramatic, but they are real! Tangible. Smoother, plumper skin. My only problem is that my worst indented acne scars of yore are more evident, because the skin around the+m is so much smoother. But they are deep! Restylane, here I come

I think I'm in the minority here - but this did nothing for me. I'd feel a little tingle when I put it on sometimes, but seriously, it did nothing. the color is a gross yellow - and it goes on yellow. I won't buy it again. I'm having better luck w/ my AHA papaya enzyme facial wash that cost 1/4 of what this costs - I know, this is a treatment - but it did nothing that it claims.

I actually have realy oily skin, but picked this up because it had a free hand cream attached to it and my usual "ystheal emulsion" didn't.

I must say I believe i prefer this forula to the emulsion. I get compliments on my skin (which is unheard of) and the oil production on my face seems to have slowed down a bit.

I use this at night and alternate between Hydrox Souffle and LRP Redermic during the day. Along with my clarisonic, my skin is better than it has ever been (and i'm 34)

Bought this from CVS for $25. I bought the Eye creme one though.
Even though I'm young I do have some minor wrinkles around my eyes, and this was a preventative measure. I'm thinking now I should have just bought the larger bottle (not for eyes) because its essentially the same thing, Ystheal, just in a way bigger bottle for the same price! Lesson learned.

I dab this around my eyes and it seems to help the texture loads. I have milia problems and bumpy texture around the eye area, as well as some pimples here and there. I noticed an almost immediate improvement; my skin was soo soft! No more milia or bumpies. I experimented by dabbing this on zits overnight, and they are gone with either no or highly minimalized redness. This is kind of my catchall HG cream now.

About the texture, I read a derm saying retin helps with skin texture so that might be what I experienced.

Can't really say my wrinkles are gone, but the area looks plumpers/smoother. Anyway, since I'm very young it doesn't bother me that much, as the other benefits are so nice!

I'd prob buy this again.

Not bad, not bad at all. I am in my late twenties...ok almost thirty...and I am at that age where I have wrinkles when I am tired and don't have wrinkles when I am rested. I especially have one pretty snarky frown line in between my eye brows. I have been super tired lately, and this creme is making the difference with nasty forehead wrinkle and my overall smoothness.
Only minor issue is that it turns my fingernails yellow if I don't wash my hands, and i like to keep the extra on the backs of my hands (hands age too!). Small price to pay for looking 25 instead of 29. Like this so much I bought the eye cream. And I never cheat on my eye cream.

Thanks to the girls on the MUA skincare board I started using this a few months ago and I haven't looked back. I'm mid-30s with combo skin that's prone to congestion. At least, it used to be combo and get congested. Now, it's behaving itself beautifully thanks to Avene. My skin feels so soft and looks younger than it has in years. The only downside is the yellowish tint that it has which can stain my white pillowcases, but it's a small price to pay for great skin. Hallelujah!

I'm 25, sensitive, acne prone skin, I get 1-2 small whitehead pimples a week, my friends would say I have average to below average looking skin. I also have some redness, large pores and uneven skin tone. I also am starting to get wrinkles under my eyes and forehead. It's not that bad I'm just very picky on my complextion.

This was my first retinoid I have tried. I was also using Jojoba oil on my off days (love this stuff!!)

I used this every other day for 1 month to even out my skin tone and cut down on the redness. I also wanted to reduce my pores and elimintate the occasional pimple, as well as reduce wrinkles. ( what a retinoid should be able to do). I didn't give it as long as an evaluation as I should've, but here is what I found:::

I noticed decent results with smoothing out my redness, skintone, small reduction in look of pores. (did not use it long enough to get results on my wrinkles)........The reason I stopped was it was clogging my pores(yuck!!) and I never have a problem with clogged pores (unless I use a bad sunscreen). I have switched to Alpha Hydrox AHA 10% Gel and love this stuff, I also use thermal water which is great for calming skin tone.

I have heard after countless hours of research on retinoids that since ystheal GELis discountinued, the next best retinoid(in terms of effectiveness yet not irriatating) is Differin gel. I will try this if the AHA 10% stops giving me good results.
