I discovered 'Fifi' earlier this year and although it took me a while to ' get' it, it was definitely worth it in the end. When I first tried it, there appeared to be similarities to Agent Provocateur, all I could smell was the coriander, but once I got over that, I realized what a well made and interesting composition Fifi is - and how fun. Fifi opens with citrus and coriander, it's fresh and sharp to begin with, I get a little tobacco, with maybe a touch of Barbie doll plastic and hair scent, this reminds me of the way these dolls used to smell in the seventies, very nostalgic. This note also reminds me of Liddle Kiddle dolls that I used to love when I was a child. There is a hint of pepper and rose as the perfume unfolds and a little powdered sugar, like turkish delight with lemon. The drydown is a snuggly macaroon/ vanilla almond cookie with the pepper, musk and rose providing a nice contrast which prevents an overbearing sweetness. Fifi is a definite flirt, I can imagine it suiting Dita von Teese perfectly and although it can be worn with jeans and a sweater easily, I find Fifi makes me want to paint my nails that perfect red, blowout my hair and don my favourite and most sexy underwear. I find my Husband is extremely nuzzly when I wear Fifi and I get many compliments especially from men when I wear this, it is just so feminine I find men can't resist it.
Longevity I find is good for the EDP, I get most of the day out of it, although it might be strong when first sprayed, once dried down, the scent is soft yet present. The bottle is very cute but make sure you remove the sprayer pump when not in use as this can make the liquid evaporate.
If you want a fragrance that is exclusive, unusual and fun, I highly recommend Fifi Chachnil. Fifi makes me feel pretty and desirable and after all, that's what a good perfume should do.

Fifi Chacnil is like a very pretty pin-up girl who only has one facial expression in every one of her photos. It smells lovely--like tobacco, vanilla, and something nutty. I like it, and it reminds my nose of something smooth and sexy, like velvet or satin. Yet all the notes seem to sing in rounds instead of being one main chorus. It doesn't really have much oomph or lasting power either. Overall it's a one-act show that doesn't really touch the audience, even though the act was entertaining.

Fifi Chachnil gives a powdery impression with vanilla, amber, and incense. Reminds me of a simplified Shalimar. I couldn't perceive any cardamom or coriander. The first few minutes are the best, then it tends to fall apart. It didn't last well for me, and most fragrances last a very long time on me. Better than average aesthetic impression at the opening, but not full bottle worthy for me.

I have just nearly finished 2 decants of this scent, and am planning a full bottle purchase when I have the available funds. Fifi is a little sweet, a little floral, a little spicy, and lots of smooth creaminess and powder. I get that "plastic" note others have talked about, but it is plastic in the way Johnson's baby lotion is--pink, creamy, and slightly plasticy. There's a gorgeous humid floral heart, one I can detect in other scents (like Shalimar) that I always wanted *more* of, and I get that with Fifi. I do smell a little tobacco, and the fresh zing of coriander. Interesting and comfortable. They drydown is sexy amber (like other reviewers have said: Must de Cartier and Obsession) which becomes a honeyed powder in its last breath.
The staying power is good, but it requires an extra spritz halfway through the day.
I love the balance of masculine and feminine; like a pretty woman in a fuzzy angora sweater with red lipstick, wearing a men's watch and holding a cigar. This could be my HG!

I was fortunate to receive a sample of this from a lovely MUAer. I've been lusting after this for ages as it listed all the notes I love and all the reviews say how sexy it is. My HG's are Must de Cartier, Chanel Cuir de Russie and more recently Miller Harris L'air de Rien. I tend to go for heavier spicy, leather, musky scents so I thought Fifi would be perfect.
I've been wearing my sample for 2 days and I've finally realised what it reminds me of. Cross Must de Cartier with Baiser du Dragon and on me you get Fifi. Whilst M de C is scrumptious, there's something in B du D that doesn't work with my body chemistry and I think it's going to be the same with Fifi.
Instead of falling in love with this scent I find it a little disturbing. It has that odd note that I can't pin down that makes me edgy.
I'm thrilled to have tried it, but I think I'm more soothed and comforted by my Must de Cartier.

I have tested Fifi a number of times over the years because I love the bottle and I want to love a fragrance that gets such raves here, being described as sexy, flirty, etc. But I just don't. It's uninteresting and forgettable. Someone else said this smells like almond cookies. True, with a little tobacco and mandarin orange. It actually makes me kind of nauseous after a while.

Oh, darn it! This bottle is super duper adorable and I wanted it REALLY badly. But, I took hold of myself and ordered a sample of it first (smart me). I applied it and got - Obsession! Argh!! Yes, I see this was created by the same person and this, at least on me, smells the same. It is a less tenacious (or obnoxious) version of Obsession, but Obsession nonetheless! While I'm sort of meh about Obsession (it's too loud and 80s for me), this was just not good since it's the signature fragrance of my mother-in-law (read: she pours a bottle of Obsession on her head each and every day - at least that's what I think). There's just something unsettling about smelling like the MIL with my husband if you know what I mean. Grrr! Oh well, another lemming squelched!

The very topnotes of this are bad--struck me as immediately masculine. I didn't wash it off, however, because I wanted to do some other things. Then I smelled something great and--lo and behold--it was the Fifi Chachni. This seems like a POTL clone to me, except that burning tobacco (as in a cigarette) kept flitting about for a while. The contrast of that with the sweetness (and it's sweet) was nice.

When I first put this one on, all I smelled was the mandarin, which, on me, was more like grapefruit...not sweet at all. I was tempted to immediately wash it off, since I'm not a fan of citrus fragrances. I'm so glad I didn't! Within 5 minutes, this transformed into the most soft, beautiful, feminine scent I've smelled in a long time. The perfect blend of powdery floral and tobacco w/ just a hint of the citrus that was so overpowering at first. This one just makes me feel like a lady!

I have this in the eau de parfum spray and it packs a punch...very sexy...though I've worn it to work a couple just b/c I can. ;) Smells like a old-fashioned bombshell fragrance w/ powdery rose and tobacco which gives it the oomph in my opinion...very distinct...but not an old lady perfume.

Soft, delicate. Yummy, actually. It's not foody, and it's not girly, but it's feminine. Woody, powdered myrrh, edge of floral, edge of coriander...warm. Maybe it's the tobacco that adds that yum aspect. I like this very much and am grateful to the MUAer who generously swapped me my sample!

One of my favorite fragrances for winter! This fragrance radiates such a feeling of comfort and sexiness at the same time. When I wear it I feel self confident, comforted, and vibrant. It evokes an animalistic/purely sensual kind of vibe for the wearer. If you enjoy this you may also like to try, Vivienne Westwood-"let it rock'. It also has a basenote of amber.

Ah, Fifi. I first sampled this and liked it, but passed it over. And then, an animallover sent me a sample of the parfum. Holy Mother. I became obsessed, and could not rest till Fifi was mine.
Created by the man who made Obsession, one of my 21 year Sig scents, Fifi is seductive. And a bit like Fumarie Turque with training wheels, perfect for me who found FT a bit much, but loved it anyway, although I never wore it... there is the sweet cherry/tobacco thing, with a bit of vanilla, and a gorgeous drydown. Fifi is perfect from start to finish, which is rare, and is my new criteria of FBW- I refuse to wait for a scent to get good, it has to start good, be good, and end good for me to bother.
Fifi is a very sexy, flirty, *pink* scent- seldom have a bottle and the perfume inside fit each other so perfectly. The 50's esque packaging is fun, too, and makes me feel like a pin-up. I looove it. It is all the girly sexy kooky parts of my personality in a pretty pink bottle with a wink to the nostalgia of a time gone by. 3 out of 3 points for sillage and tenacity, it just keeps on going and going. I looooove it. Did I mention that already?

Pretty bottle. Unfortunately, the scent went straight to a meld of amber, tobacco, and spice. Lasting power was average and nothing truly distinct emerged from this fragrance. I was hoping for something "over the top" based on the hype. Not bad, but not distinct.

Fifi is a darn flirt. She will enter your home, demand the best spot on your dresser, seduce your man and make him follow her sillage around the house. She is the center of attention wherever she goes. Fifi has a little something for everyone- some tobacco, a bit of fruit and a little spice. Throw in the amber dry down with a tiny bit of dirt and heck! Who can compete with a girl like that? Oh well, life isn't always fair.

I received a sample of Fifi as an extra from a generous swapper. I put it on my wrists with no prior knowledge of notes; I only knew that it is popular, expensive and has a beautiful bottle. On me, it smells like almond cookies, the kind that are on an all you can eat Chinese buffet. After a while, I smell some woody notes, but on the whole, after sampling several times, I conclude that it's rather sweet, inoffensive and totally not me. As moondeva says, *next!*

Love it!!!! On my skin the scent is a luscious powder with a hint of citrus. Very femme fatale without being an overly sweet, generic vanilla type. Strong but not obnoxious by any means. Great staying power which is really saying something because most perfumes disappear instantly on me. I sniff my wrists all day when I wear this one and put an extra bit on my throat so it wafts into my nose :) Will purchase a full bottle (as soon as I can afford to, yikes).
Update: Today at Trader Joe's I discovered their "Bergamot and Coriander" air freshener. Fifi's top notes include citrus and coriander so this is a pleasant, light reminder to spray about the room. $3.95 for 4.4 fl oz

I am breathing a big sigh of relief that I have finally tested Fifi Chachnil and I don't *need* it.
Sniffed from the vial it is very reminiscent of quite a few other woody ambery vanilla orientals: TBS Altaro, Fendi Theorama, Rochas Absolu, Moschino Couture!...
But you really have to try this on the skin for it to reveal its seductive banality. From the hype and myriad descriptions of this scent I had guessed that this would play out like Moschino by Moschino on the skin. And larks above, I was right!! *faints*
Fifi Chachnil on my skin is a pale smudged carbon copy of the much underrated scent love child of Guerlain Shalimar and Must de Cartier, Moschino by Moschino. Less 'rosey' in the heart notes and much more civilised with less femme fatale musk and amber in the base notes, Fifi Chachnil is definitely placing her feet firmly in Moschino's more daring original footsteps.
A wonderful sexy scent Fifi needs to be worn and experienced but having long hung out with the true bad girls (Must de Cartier parfum, Guerlain Shalimar parfum, Moschino by Moschino - all with much more, depth, character and longevity) I shall have to send this flaky young upstart running along...
next!

Oh Fifi, why hast thou forsaken me? I wanted to love you. Your pretty bottle, your wonderful reviews, and your sexy name. I got a sample of you and dabbed on my wrist, knowing I would be instantly turned into a Goddess pin-up girl. Instead, I smell like a grandmother with way too much facial hair. Oh the humanity. Alright, with all the drama aside, Fifi did not like my chemisty or my chemisty did not like Fifi. I don't know, but the combination was not good. I could see how would be good for some people, but I had to give it low lippies for me. *Sigh*
