I got this at beautycrunch.com in the pack of 3 for $15, so I can't complain about the price, but I will say that if I had paid full price, I'd probably be pretty disappointed. True to its name, these creme shadows have a mousse-ey texture and are really soft. After working with these for a while, I've decided that they don't hold a candle to MAC paintpot. These definitely do not hold its own as bases (you will need to put something, like UDDP under them, because they *will* crease) and I find that getting an even color distribution across my lid is challenging. For some reason, regardless of whatever method I use (fingers, various brushes) etc, I can't get a good, even color distribution, unless I am just going for a sheer wash. Building up color is not very easy. I also don't find blending powder shadows over this as easy as it is with MAC paintpot. Thus, I have to give this product a below-average rating, especially for the price, if you happened to pay retail for it.

As for the color, as other reviewers have mentioned, it is a goldish lavender, not really "amber". It's pretty and somewhat unique, but not really "amber". This is nice as a sheer wash to pretty-up an eyelid, but expect difficulty in building up the color (as noted before) if you want a more opaque application.

I just bought this for $3.95 at Marshalls. I love it. It's so amazing. I tested it this morning to see how long it would last and I was so surprised that it didn't crease or wear off by the end of the day. Amber is more of pinkish shade then goldish. It's amazing! Too bad it's being discontinued, I guess that's why this was at Marshalls.

EDIT
I went back today and purchased the Petal and Water Lily. The display was practically empty. I guess someone cleaned out those pots since two weeks ago wow. Water lily is somewhat matte ...oh I read the jar it's a "cheek mousse" so I guess it's a blush. Petal is more sparkly. Amber is the best!

I got these at the Stila warehouse sale a few months ago on a whim (great price!!). I wasn't expecting much, since I just love MAC Paint Pots...but I was pleasantly surprised! I love this color as a base for both pinks and purples, and this can also be worn as a wash of color all over the lid. Applied sparingly, it just gives your lids a nice pinky glow, but if you layer more product on, it's more true to color. The texture is really nice and soft, and it glides on like a dream. I always use UDPP under cream shadows because everything seems to crease on me w/o it, and I wore the combination of UDPP + Amber w/ eyeshadow on top, and it lasted from the time I put it on to the time I took it off, in SoCal summer weather (12 hours!). The name Amber, however, is kind of a misnomer (unless it's a girl's name), since it's kind of a mauve-y pink color and not orange like you would think. Still, it's a very nice shade!

So, pros: smooth, light texture, pretty color, good base for other e/s. cons: discontinued by Stila! =(

Amber is a burnished pinky mauve cream eyeshadow. The beauty of the shadow pots is that although they the colours are described as shimmery, when they are on they are more glowy. I usually wear Amber just as a wash as the colour is interesting enough to hold its own and team with liner, usually black, grey or navy (today I'm wearing it with Stila's Silver Kajal liner).
It's really disappointing that Stila discontinued the Shadow Pots, as they're fantastic.

I love stila's eye mousses. They go on super smooth with zero creasing even with all day wear. I like wearing this purple pink color with honey cream mousse, kitten shadow and an espresso liner.

I didn't have a real appreciation for this little pot until I had tried other cream eyeshadows. They went on sheer, had huge pieces of glitter, melted, creased, and ended up all over my face. Not this one! I've found that the best applicator is a little foam smudger on the end of one of my shadow brushes. I dip it into the pot (I don't use my fingers because of risk of contamination) pick up a tiny amount, and then spread it gently over my lid. It wears as a beautifully pigmented, shimmering purpleish pink that lasts all day without creasing! This color makes my green eyes really pop, which makes sense because if you look at a color wheel, deep pink is directly across from green, NOT a true purple. If you have green eyes and like to wear shimmery (not glittery!) eyeshadow, this is for you!
You can also wear this as a sheer wash of color or a base for other shadows by applying with something less dense, like a popsicle stick. What amazes me is the miniscule amount of product needed for each application. Definetely do not over apply, as the product will simply cake up on your lid and will not be pretty. Fool around with different application techniques until you find one that works for you.
I love the packaging with the cute lid, as well as the generous amount of product. This will surely last me a loooong time, but if I ran out I'd repurchase.
I also own the shadow pot in Lily, but this is my favorite, because the color is so unique and pretty!

I have no idea what the below poster is talking about. This eyeshadow is fab. I have seen a lot of MUAers rave and rave about Stila products, so when it came to my local COO, I decided to try it. This eyeshadow is easy to apply. A litte goes a long way, spreads on smooth and it stayed on crease free and fade free for 90% of my day (and I live in Charleston, SC and I wrote this review in the begining of September. I also have combo/oily skin, so you know my eyelids aren't dry.

For me its such a pretty color pink. Its kind of sort of iridescent, but not garishly or teenage-y so. It really makes my hazel green eyes pop. For reference, I am a BE 1,2. Its a little spendy for $14, but since a little goes a long way here, I think its a good buy. I would repurchase.

EWEWEW.
GOD I HATE THIS EYESHADOW!!
it creases as soon as i put it on, it makes a mess, it makes the rest of my face look washed out and pale, it makes me look like a drag queen, and it's so heavy and thick...ew i hate it when it becomes all greasy and...i dont even want to go into that. but yeah point is that this pretty much sucks.

Price: $27.00 (CDN) for a 4g pot

I bought this little gem at Sephora and I am absolutely in love with it. I love the consistency, ease of application and longevity of this product. Amber is a misleading name for this colour as it is more of a silvery mauve. Very pretty and very versatile! A light wash of it can be used as a base for other colours or you can layer it for a bolder look. I use a bit of UDPP under it and it doesn’t crease or fade on me! My favourite look (at least for the moment) with this product is a smoky eye with MAC Engraved pencil and a bit of Stila Heather on the browbone. I’ve received so many compliments when I wear that combination. Love this product and this pot will last a very long time!

I am a huge Stila fan but I have never thought of trying their Shadow Pots. I was getting my makeup done at the Stila National Event withe Geoffrey Rodriguez @ Holt Renfrew on Bloor and he told the MA that was working on me to do smokey eyes. I for one have never done smokey eyes before. So she did it by pairing this with the Smudge Pot in Black. At first, I didn't like it that much because it looked like so much makeup (which I'm not really used to) but later on, I cleaned it up to make it not so stark and it looked amazing. Its a purple tone with shimmer. The texture is simply too amazing. I definately look forward to trying out smokey eyes with this product and am definately interested in trying it out in different colours. FYI, this retails for $27 CDN. But definately worth it, it will last forever.

I bought this last weekend. It's a beautiful lavender color and when I use it with a shadow primer it goes on smoothly and wears all day. I had no creasing even when I got hot (it was 90 degrees in Florida). I also bought Honey which is more of a mauvey color and they looked great together.

This is my fave 'pink' e/s! Sephora was doing a Stila event (make-overs) and the MA used this as an e/s. She softly applied this to my eyes and it looked coppery pink, not bad. I love it because it looks wet. When I got home I was curious because I have never owned mousse e/s so I layered the thing and it came out a sheenish powder pink, VERY pretty. I love this stuff! I want more shadow pots eye mousse. Whenever I buy pink e/s I would look like I got hit in the eye, lol. But this little sucka is so beautiful I love it. The only thing I hate about this is it's hard to apply. e/s sponge will take too much mousse...for now I am using my finger. I need to buy a brush for this, like the way the MA applied it on my eyes.

I agree with one poster said that "Amber" evokes images of burnished copper and bronze, which this shade is not. Amber Eye Mouse is a lovely, complex shade of mauve, silver, and warm pink. Not too keen on the packaging--I reckon once I hit the bottom of the jar, I would need a concealer brush to apply this shadow.

The texture is unbelievable and you must see and try it for yourself at your local Stila counter or Sephora. The eye mousse is a smooth, whipped texture in which the shadow turns to a no budge powder once applied. I used the eye mouse this week when NYC experienced a bizzare heat wave of temperatures soaring well into the 90 degrees F. With a bit of Benefit's FY-Eye eye base, this shadow did not budge, crease or fade on me.

I use Amber either all over on the lower lid with Casis as a liner and Moonlight to highlight, or on my lower outer corner with Cassia or Heather as my base, Grace on my lid, and Poise (wet) as a liner. I have not enountered any problems in using the eye mousse in conjuction with Stila's other powdered eye shadows. If you are however looking to blend, the eye mousse is not the right product to use.

For $20, you do recieve a lot of product and the eye mousse is concentrated and little goes a long way. The shade Amber I find is complex and does not resemble any of my other fave no fail Stila shades: Grace, Viola, and Puck, so the shade itself is a keeper. For its wear this a definite winning product in my book and I have no regrets in spending $20 for it.

Stila's Eye Mousse are the only type of eyeshadow I will ever use again! They have the most incredible fluffy/light texture and gives such a wonderful dewy/glowy/luminous look to the lids. They rock! Amber is a medium rosy pink shade with a mauve undertone to it. So pretty!

I miss the eye glazes, but I am working with this product anyway. Amber is a shimmery mauve -- not the coppery color that the old eye glaze was. But it's still a wearable color. It creases on me somewhat, but with a swipe of my finger, I blend it back out again.

Amber is a warm rosey color in my opinion. A little too red for the entire eyelid, but is good as a brow color. The staying power of the Stila Eye Mousse is great. I love the color "Smoke" a lot. I use Stila's powder eye shadow to set the mousse. Would buy the Eye Mousse again, just not positive about this color.
