It's better than nothing.

It's not greasy under my makeup so that's good.

It's not as hydrating as I would like so that's bad.

Jars are belch so that's bad.

I'll use it till it's gone and find something better.

This used to be my absolute favorite moisturizer for years...I would buy several at a time b/c I loved it so much. HOWEVER, I can no longer use the product as it makes me breakout because they DRASTICALLLY CHANGED THE INGREDIENTS in this product. The new product does not absorb the same either. It is not the same moisturizer it used to be. After noticing the difference in the way it felt on my skin, I took the old box & the new box and soooooooo many ingredients have been removed & replaced with other inferior ingredients. So drastic that I cannot understand why they are calling it by the same name. I am going to give Desert Essence Daily Moisturizer a try since the ingredients seem similar to the old formulation of Alba.

I like Alba Botantica Sea Renewal Cream as a night cream, and so I did not hesitate to try this as a winter day-time moisturizer. Well, it's just "meh".... nothing special. It does have beneficial ingredients. However, the minuses outweigh the pluses for me. First it has a strange, elmers glue-type consistency that honestly, kind of creeps me out. Further, I don't really like the way it feels on my skin. Lastly, it has a strange smell and it seems to go "rancid" quick, as evidenced by the worsening of the scent over a very short period of time. It didn't break me out (a plus), but with so many other options that don't break me out and don't have the above "minuses", why bother with this? Next...

Love love this cream. I use it as a day cream in winters and as a night cream for hot humid nights. It is so light and a treat to use. Absorbs in the skin right away giving it a soft radiance or glow.

It smells good too! But it may not work in Winters when the weather gets too dry, unless you have oily skin. This cream has been by staple for quite a few years and my skin does looks good. No issues at all. It won't clog pores as well.

PROS: Is supposed to stimulate cell regeneration to help correct uneven tone and it has helped with that. Light and subtle fragrance that reminds me of the beach (but not in a yucky sunblock smell way.) It sort of smells like the ocean in a good way. (Sorry I'm not good at describing scents. ;-) No cones, yay (so no clogging of pores)! Feels light and smooth going on and soaks right in. Doesn't bother my rosacea/sensitive skin near as much as most lightening/evening products do. Natural ingredients.

CONS: Those who want more moisture can use the night cream instead. Some won't like this comes in a jar (I just make sure my hands are clean before applying.) *****EDIT: Ended up bothering my rosacea too much.*****

ALTERNATES: I personally love Replenix Antioxidant Moisturizer SPF 50 (in silver tube) for great moisture and spf protection that doesn't bother my sensitive skin.

This moisturizer is so underwhelming. I live in a dry climate and use low % benzoyl peroxide at night for moderate acne, so I need to layer something really emollient on top so I don't wake up with flakes. This just wasn't enough. It sinks in too quickly, doesn't have good slip, is almost sort of chalky, and just isn't all that moisturizing. Combo skin girls will probably enjoy this, but for my dry sensitive skin it was no good.

I've been using this product for a little over 1/2 a year and I love it. I have combination skin that tends to be more oily than not, so I needed a light face moisturizer. Additionally, ever since I transitioned from an alcohol toner to an alcohol free toner, I don't need to overcompensate as much with the face moisturizer. This moisturizer is very light and doesn't seem to aggravate my skin by causing it to break out.

I like the smell as it's very light, slightly sweet, and reminds me of a fresh flower (is the best analogy I can think of). However, I dislike the container as it's just a jar, whereas I would have preferred a squeeze bottle.

It's about $15 dollars for a 2 oz jar which I find average to a little expensive, but still worth it. It takes me a few months to use a 2 oz jar which isn't bad at all.

Well, like most products that start out so great, this lotion ended up pooping out on me. I actually think it has a nice, light scent and it dissipates very quickly, BUT after about a month of hope and happiness it broke me out and my skin started flaking. So the search continues!

I have been using this moisturizer for the past couple of years ever since one winter when my skin began developing dry, red patches. I was looking for something that would moisturize and not cause breakouts, as I already have moderate acne. This moisturizer definitely meets my needs. I apply it after every shower and again as needed if I have any dry, itchy spots. It is lightweight and provides the perfect amount of moisture for my combination skin.

Didn't do much of anything for me. I don't like the runny texture and it definitely wasn't moisturizing. I could have applied nothing and gotten the same results. I recommend the Alba Sea Plus renewal cream as it contains butters in place of the oils in this for better results.

I was looking for a lightweight, night time moisturizer for my dry, sensitive skin. I was using the Jasmine cream and loving it, but wanted something a little less heavy.

I have not noticed a fishy smell per another reviewer, but it does have a strong scent. It is a fresh scent, almost like a green, powdery finish. Although, the smell is tolerable I wish it didn't have any scent at all. It is a little bit of a turnoff. And it does irritate my sensitive skin just a tiny bit when I first put it on. I took one lippie off for the scent, but I would still recommend this for anyone with dry skin.

Good price, 100% vegetarian, simple ingredients and very clean. Sinks into skin nicely, thus not leaving an oil slick under makeup. I have become a big fan of alba becaue of their moisturizers, and this one doesn't dissapoint.

This product works well for me but I did notice that I have broken out a few times since using it. As I am not absolutely in love with it, I am going to continue to try others until I find one that I love and meets all of the ingredient criteria that I am looking for.

So far I am really enjoying this product. I don't think it smells bad or fishy. I prefer sea products over botanical/flower products. This is very light, clean, fresh. It absorbs quickly and is very basic. My skin can't usually take products that have tons of junk in them and I was really interested in something organic/healthy. I'll try to update later as I continue to use this. Oh, and the price is amazing! I bought this for $15 at a health food store, but I think it's cheaper online or at Target or Walmart.

EDIT: 10/11/12: Lippies went from 4 to 1. Sorry. They must have changed this from when I bought this years ago. It's waxy and awful and I just threw away the entire jar of it. Gross. I'll be going back to my MAC oil-free lotion, as that is the only thing that seems to work for me lately.

I have been using this product at night since it doesn't have SPF and I love it. I find it absorbs well in my skin and its light weight. I purchased this at walmart for around $12 I believe. I will purchase again

Wow! I love this. It's light but very moisturizing. Doesn't make your face greasy either. Unlike previous reviewer, I didn't notice any seaweed smell. I have no problems applying makeup afterwards, but I use mineral makeup, if that makes a difference. I highly recommend this product. BTW, I am 40 yo, with normal skin, and fine lines around mouth and eyes. My skin has lost its glow. This cream helps plump up my skin and give it some glow.

I bought this item after reading MUA review. I totally regret it. Actually, It's light texture and nice. But I can't stand much fragrance.(smells like seaweed) and never sink my skin overnight. Make-up is slippery because cream just stay on forever. I waste $10.

This is probably my favorite facial moisturizer! I have dry and acne prone skin (go me) and this is amazing moisturizer. It gives just the right amount of moisture and lasts all day. It works great under makeup but is perfect at night. One night I was forced to use Oil of Olay and my skin did NOT like it, I missed my Alba. Highly recommended, and it lasts a long time.

Love this stuff so far. I've been using it for about 5 days, so this is very preliminary, but so far i'm very impressed. i have combo skin that starts off REALLY dry when i first wash it, then will get shiny/oily as the day progresses. this stuff hydrates like the best of 'em, but doesn't contribute to any shininess or greasies. so far, no breakouts. my skin has been as soft as a baby's butt. i am about 2 weeks into using a clarisonic pro, so that's helping too, and allowing this to absorb really well. it sinks in almost instantly. and personally i love the smell! i don't mind tub-style packaging, but i prefer it to be a little heavier (like dior's hydraction line), but i'd much rather have plastic tubs and get such a great product for such a deal! i love the ingredients, and so far, it seems like it will live up to my expectations. :) not heavy enough for at night, so i use the sea plus renewal cream from the same line.
