gotta' agree with the "Rancid beer" scent. That's exactly what I got. I was sooooo dissapointed w/ this. I'm throwing it straight into the garbage. I don't even want to swap it because I'd feel guilty knowing someone was wearing this in public & at work and they were making people gag!
* p/s : just tried the shaking the jar thing, and I'm sorry, I'm still not wearing this stuff !! : (

Well I read the reviews, and was initially shocked by them. I've had a jar of Angel Food Cake souffle for a couple of months and never tried it, I even recently swapped for the lotion version.
That said, after these terrible reviews I finally decided to try it, I sniffed the jar and smelled delicious vanilla cake batter. I then applied it to my skin, and smelled beer. Yes beer. It smells awful, I don't understand why, but it turns really bad, and as the other reviews prove, this isn't a rare thing. So I currently smell of beer w/a hint of vanilla cake batter, very gross.
I still want to try the edt, and when possible I'll review the lotion as well.

This lotion is on the expensive side but it makes your skin feel silky smooth. I use it after I shave my legs and it makes them feel awesome. The smell is like a cake, smells good enough to eat.

GAG me! This was the foulest smelling stuff ever. Thought it would be yummy like the gloss, but no. I put this on after a shower, before getting into bed. My BF asked me what the rotten smell was. I wanted to die. The lotion smelled rancid and I ended up taking another shower and having to use a body scrub to get the smell off.

I purchased the Tutti Dolci Angel Food Cake Souffle during BBW's semi-annual sale for 75% off. I must admit that the tester jar at the store smelled putrid but most bath and body testers don't smell great unless they are new. Testers are easily contaminated by EVERYONE testing them. When I applied the souffle it smelled awful--a bit like plastic/putty and cheap vanilla extract. The dry down wasn't so terrible and it faded so it didn't bother me but I was disappointed. I read the reviews here and took the advice of one reviewer who shook her souffle jar before applying. The shaking did make an incredible difference in the odor. It definitely develops more cakey vanilla after the dry down. Although I am not hating this scent, I am definitely not loving it so I took an unused jar I bought back to BBW and got a body polish instead. Why does the Angel Food Cake body wash smell sooooo much better???? Incidentally, I hate the glass jar. It's heavy, cumbersome, and so unnecessary. Anything glass in the bathroom is scary for me because I'm afraid it will drop and break. What is wrong with plastic BBW?

I recommend that you actually try this product on your skin before purchasing. Like several other reviewers, I found that the delicious scent turned absolutely rancid on me.

LOVE the texture. Sinks sooo well into my skin and it remains radiant and smooth for days after. The smeellll.............is slightly annoying. It can be good and it can be bad, but overall its just too much. I would definitely buy this again, but in a different scent.

True, this was rank - a beer-battered kind of foul. I slathered this on and smelled like a drunk in a bakery. The scent did not improve. Appalling. I put it back in the bag intending to return it and forgot about it. Then, tonite I took a notion. I took it out of the bag, and I shook it. I shook it like maracas. I shook it like booty at the club. I shook it like it was for sale and the rent was due tomorrow. And after about 3 minutes of aggressive agitation in every possible direction, I opened the jar. Smelled lovely. I dared to apply some to my skin, and lo and behold - 10% drunk, 90% 'nilla cupcake! I walked the dog and gave it time to develop, and as I write this I'm pleased to report that it has developed into a fine, cakey vanilla fragrance as it should be. I give this four lippies because while I am finally enjoying this fragrance and will keep it for the $4.50 I paid for it, I penalize the Angel Food Cake Moisturizing Souffle because to reach its full potential required tenacity, ingenuity and cardio.

This moisturizing souffle smells like sweet MILKY cake batter on me. I like it's unique scent, not too strong & moisturizes really well. I smell like baked goods.

This smelled great in the container, but on it smelled really bad. Like beer or something. I got this for 75% off, and I am still taking it back.

I stocked up on two of these because for 75%, it was a great deal. However, after wearing this for a while, it starts to turn on my skin. nothing horrible, but it has a note in it that is not appealing to me. The lotion holds the scent a lot better imo!

Bought this for 75% off also at the Semi Annual sale. Couldn't really smell it at the store but, I thought it might be OK for me to try since it was only $4, boy was I wrong! Once on, this stuff smelled sour even tainted or spoiled, I thought maybe I picked up a bad one, but after reading everyone else's reviews, I'm in the majority when it comes to not liking this at all, not even for $4!! Returned it the next day and got the Angel Food Cake lotion instead, which smells normal.

This has the cutest packaging and smells great in the jar, but once applied, it smelled absolutely AWFUL! My boyfriend even told me it smelled "burnt!" Even though it was on sale for $4.50, I still returned it because it really was *that* bad.

Seriously rank! Smells just like fermenting beer and soy sauce! I completely agree with previous reviewers on this one. The angel food cake lotion is 10x better. Something very wrong with this.

I bought this at the big annual sale. I love the souffles, they sink right into my skin and leave it silky. Angel Food Cake souffle started out with a weird smell on my skin. Sort of a boozey, fermented cake scent. I thought OMG what the heck is this! However, after about 30 minutes it settled into a sweet vanilla cake scent. It was pleasant and comforting. It got better with time. After about 12 hours (slept with it on) I could detect a faint vanilla but nice. I'll give this one a 4 because I love the souffles so much but you do have to wait for this scent to develop.

i purchased this for less than its retail-in-store price on ebay. thank goodness! i thought it smelled nice in the store..for a brief moment. when i got it, the smell was overpowering :\ it reeks of cake frosting with a twisted sweet/sour smell which was weird to me. texture is good: creamy and moisturizing. however i couldn't stand the smell after a couple of small uses. i ended up giving this away as a gift so i could get as far away as possible from the smell. jar is very *full* and heavy, made of glass? good cream, bad smell.

This product smells horribly. I received this as a gift. It is the first time I have ever had to take the time to shower later in the day for the sole purpose of removing the horrible smell about me.

After sniffing the lotion sample in the store, I purchased the body souffle. In the car on the way home, I put a little on my hands and was overwhelmed by the most awful, headache-inducing aroma. I don't even know how to describe it......worlds away from angel food cake. This is going back to BBW ASAP!

I am so glad that I tested this in the store. I thought it smelled so yummy in the package. But like most of the food scented lotions at B&BW, it was sickenly sweet on the skin. An hour later and after several washings, my hands still reeked. Will never purchase.
