I went to Sally's to get the GVP version of Biolage Matrix Hydrating Shampoo. That one smelled funky and as I was debating, the sales associate said I should check out the Biotera version. It smelled MUCH better to me. That and the fact it was on sale decided it. I am so glad I went for it! I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for 2 weeks now and I feel like I had a hair make-over. I heat style my shoulder-length hair almost everyday and typically have half an inch of dry, split ends. My water also has a lot of calcium. Prior to this I used Garnier and Dove, and my hair was never shiny - always kind of dull and crispy. Well, now it is smooth and shiny. I still have my split ends, but they look much better than before - I don't have that frizzy dead look anymore! I am getting this for my mom on my next trip to Sally's.

Love the whole Biotera line! Exactly like Biolage. Moisturizes hair, leaves a beautiful shine, and smells fantastic. I will always purchase these products.

It is hard for me to review just a shampoo, because I always use a conditioner or treatment after. So really, my results are based on using this with the matching conditioner. I used the ultra moisturizing version of both shampoo and conditioner. As I mentioned in the conditioner review, this stuff is HG worthy. It leaves your hair soft, shiny and ultra moisturized, without weighing it down. I have tried so many HE products over the years, that promise so much, but are just okay. Who knew, there are products that delivers what they promise!

This product claims to "hydrate dry, damaged hair" but it had the opposite effect on mine. In fact, I now suspect that the brittle, frizzy hair I had over the winter was a result of this shampoo and not my highlights. I stopped highlighting my hair this spring, got a conditioning treatment, and also switched shampoos and my hair was doing fine. I ran out of the other shampoo (Paul Mitchell) so got this to use in the interim. After two weeks, my hair looks and feels as bad as it did over the winter when I was still highlighting it. And I know it's the shampoo because my husband noticed the same thing with his hair, and neither of us changed the other hair products we were using. I don't know what it is in the shampoo that causes this problem, and maybe it's only a problem for some people, but bad hair days were pretty much the norm for me when using this product. it made my hair feel like straw.

This entire product line is horrendous. It's also a terrible knock-off of Biolage and nothing like the real thing. Get the GVP version instead...it's amazing.

I was introduced to this brand through my sister, who had recently purchased it. I gave it a try and immediately loved it! It reminds me of Matrix's Biolage line of haircare products. It lathers a lot and leaves my hair feeling clean without drying it out. I also use the conditioner. Great products, size and price.

this shampoo is great! lathers well, leaves hair feeling clean but not dry. after hair is dry it feels so soft! great product for the price. the only thing i dislike is that the scent doesn't linger in your hair for very long. worth trying! i keep going back to this shampoo. if you buy the large bottles you can get them for 2 for $15 and they last FOREVER

I have fair hair with layers, and I keep my hair healthy. I have a water softener so I needed some extra moisture in my shampoos to keep it soft and manageable.

A sales associate highly recommended the Biotera Moisturizing shampoo, and indicated that it was by the same makers as Biolage, by Matrix (which is definitely is NOT). In any case, I was very excited to try this new shampoo, and I even bought the huge 1L bottle.

When I tried it, I noticed the shampoo didn't lather very well at all in the shower (which is strange seeing as I have soft water at home). That's not even the worst part: when I tried to comb my hair after my shower, it was impossible to brush. I have never in my life had tangly hair this bad, even with a leave-in sprayed everywhere it was impossible to detangle.

I returned this stuff to Sally's Beauty Supply after I tried it twice (I made sure gave this product a fair shot). It was awful. Trust me!

I love this product. I used the Moisterizing shampoo and conditioner after I found it on sale at Sally's. After the first time I used it, I thought I smelled like that fresh salon smell that I loved so much. I has been the happy ending to my quest for a moisterizing shampoo and conditioner that actually worked, smelled good and wasn't going to break my pocket book. Some people have said that continuos use makes the scalp scatchy or hair weighed down. To combat these out comes I have always stripped my hair once a week so that nithing could build up on my hair or scalp. My husband loves the way my hair smells and I love how my hair feels soft and healthy. I even use the conditioner on my one year old daughter's hair! I love it!!

Picked this up at my local Sallys in replace of the Biolage shampoo (which is far more expensive) and it's been wonderful. My hair is soft, shiny, and looks so wonderfully touchable. Usually my hair tends to frizz mid-day but after using this for a few days, no more frizzies, which was so nice. It was 2 for $10 so I also got the conditioner, both in a liter bottle...how can you beat that price! My only complaint is the smell is a bit sweet. I can see they were trying to go for a nice, subtle flower fragrance, but it just smells chemically to me. Otherwise, GREAT product! UPDATE: Not such a great product after about a few months of daily use. Hair is dry and tends to tangle after shower. Really can't stand the smell anymore either. Sadly, probably won't repurchase.

I have oily roots dry ends color treated long hair. I want to first off start by saying this is one of most moisturing shampoo I have ever used. Before this I used L'oreal vive or tigi oatmeal and honey shampoo when I wanted moisture. This is around the same price as the loreal but works better then both of those mentioned. The smell is very fresh not overwhelming bt not fragrant free. The formula gives a nice lather, never drying and my hair always looks and feels amazing after this. When I got it at sallys I did not see the matching conditioner. Maybe they were out or do not make one (?) I will go back to get the biotera deep condtioner. This brand is supposed to be a knockoff of biolage which is also ver moisturizing but someone on the board posted they like this brand better, and I believe them. This is such a great product for my dry, thin hair, and this never weighs it down. I cant say enough. Unlike the reviewer below me I will say it has NEVER made my hair itchy- I even have a naturaly itchy scalp from polycystic ovary syndrome due to thinning hair- this actually makes my scalp feel wonderful so I dont know why she would give it such a bad review bc it makes her scalp itch. As far as being a moisturizing shampoo it does that completely like she has formerly said. *meant in a polite way, just want this product to get such good reviews because people often waste so much money on high end when there is great products like this out there that EVERYONE can afford* I love cheap beauty!
A must buy!

This is EXACTLY like the Biolage shampoo...actually, even better! It's even more gentle, and yet still moisturizes. It cleans hair very well and doesn't leave a lingering scent. Plus, it is way cheaper! You can buy this at any Sally's Beauty Supply. They have a whole Biotera line, which is a
knock-off of Biolage. A lot of thier stuff is even BETTER than the high end line. This is my new HG hair line, along with the Beyond The Zone, TiGi Bed Head knock-off, also found at Sally's.
EDIT: The longer I used this shampoo, the more it made my scalp itch. So I had to stop using it. :(

This shampoo smells and looks identical to the Biolage version. Delivers wonderful shine and moisture to dry or damaged hair. Was also very cheap at $3.99 for a 16 oz. bottle, the Biolage version is more than double that. Would probably buy again, oh the ingredients are nearly identical as well, ie: the Saponaria Bark Extract and is botanically based with flower essences as well.
