TIP : You MUST use this with a base or a primer. There are lots of reviews marking down this product because it creases. Yes, it is a cream product and that means that yes, if you apply it on it's own it will crease. However it's not meant to be worn on it's own and the reviews by other members who are inexperienced in their usage and application of the product shouldn't be taken into account.

Bat Black is a lovely black cream base with a red tone added to it. Used under mid tone to dark eye shadows the results are amazing - it can add depth and demention to almost anything making this an incredibly versatile product. The formula is more "moist" for lack of a better term than any other mac cream product I've ever tried before so you do have to watch our when applying this.

Over all this is a really gorgeous product that can be used almost however you like (it works particularly well as lip cream) and seems to have a never ending list of creative ways you can use it. A must have for any collection - especially those of us who prefer darker colors on our eyes.

I'm sorry ladies, but the faults don't lie with the product in this case, they lie with your application. I love this, it's an amazing product and, despite being black, quite versatile. I have had zero creasing. You need to learn how to use them before blaming the product.

First time buy/using cream colour base and I didn't like it. The color and the consistency wasn't what I expected. I first paired it up with young punk and it creased like crazy, even with primer. The next time I put less (more like barely any) on the lid and paired it up with MAC Trax. Only then I was able to keep it from creasing and get the color I wanted.

This product is crap!

I like this product so far. I use it with either a brush or fingers. i do use too faced shadow insurance underneath so i haven't noticed too much creasing yet. good colour but i've used better so i probably would not repurchase.

When I saw it in the box it looks amazing. Such a nice burgendy color but when I applied it it look black/brown/grey. You really had to pack on the CCB to recieve a decent color a bit similar to the color in the pot. But the problem with layering CCB is that is will crease horibbly. Also the texture is a bit to oily, so more creasing.

I'd just like to say that i RARELY give 2 stars for a mac product because i never find anything crappy enough to give it less than a 3.
this is a black with subtle burgundy tones, kinda like a bat. the problem is the red doesnt really show up unless you have a nice amount of product on the area but...what happens when you put too much of a CCB on your eyelid? it creases. the trick for CCBs not to crease is to put a tiny amount...and when you blend a tiny amount of bat black, there is no red whatsoever, it's basically grey.

Bought this on my first trip to a pro store today. I normally like the cream color bases, but this one has poor color payoff and is too creamy in texture so it's hard to get the color to show up when you blend it onto the lid. Once you blend with a brush, the color seems to just disappear into the skin. Wish the texture were a bit less creamy. Will probably be returning soon.

Bat Black is part of a number of cream colour bases released for Halloween 2004. It is a black base with red shimmer and is very much like Beauty Marked eye shadow.

It's not a must-have but is great for Halloween and is a nice base for Beauty Marked and Smut if you can use cream colour bases as an eye shadow base.
