Took me a while to figure out how much I do not like this product as I was not using in isolation.

I live in a very arid climate so am always looking for ways to stay moisturized especially in the winter. The hype on this product is that it will bind water molecules to the skin so I sounded great.

When I started to get some breakouts after years of none I started to do some detective work to try and figure out what had changed.

Through elimination I determined it was this cream that gave made me break outs on my temples. Strike 1.

It also balls up. So if you happen to rub your face you will notice lumps of cream on your hand. I suppose those are the " fillers". No thanks. Strike 2.

After it sits on my skin for a couple of minutes my face does not feel supple and moisturized it feels tight. I suppose this is the "firming". Does not feel good. Strike 3.

Horrible product don't not waste your money!

I absolutely love this product. I have been using Kiehls products for approximately 8 months and have found some of them extremely effective while others were just "OK." This by far is my favorite Kiehls product. The texture is unique. However, it is rich and creamy and a delight for dry skin. I also have occasional breakouts, this product has treated that issue and controlled my flare ups. For anyone with dry skin or dry acne-prone skin, I highly recommend this product. I absolutely love it!

It took me a little bit of time to figure out how much I like this moisturizer. I have the 'ultra riche' version (I don't know if there are others) After using this for two weeks, I decided that my skin just kept getting better and better, so I bought the full size and I've been using it for about 2 months.

My skin is dry but I get hormonal break outs (I know, lovely) so I have a difficult time finding moisturizers that I like. This stuff works so well - I think it takes a while to realize how well it is working because the texture is unusual. It sinks right in to the skin and seems kind of 'dry,' although not really because my skin has never felt dry when wearing this. It's just not your typical 'wet' feeling moisture. I use it at night and over time it's really improved my skin. I look fresh-faced in the morning, which never used to happen. No breakouts, even texture and a nice glow. Love it.

Took off one lippie because I don't like the open jar packaging.

This is a great moisturizer for my combination skin as it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, but not oily. It's not the best for under-makeup use, but I'm willing to sacrifice having perfect makeup if it means I don't have dry skin. My only real problem with this moisturizer is that it doesn't seem to do any lifting or tightening. I've been using it for a week, morning and evening, and haven't noticed any difference. For 30-50$ I really didn't expect much, to be honest, and I got basically what I paid for. A good moisturizer, but not a miracle worker, I'm just glad that it hasn't caused me to break out. I'll use it until it's gone and then I'll move on to something else that I might get better results from.

If I suddenly notice awesome firming, or anything other than just good moisturizing, I'll be sure to edit. So far, though, I don't even get the slightest feeling of tightening or tingling that says this lotion might be working.

I use this cream at night. It leaves my skin very soft and not oily at all which is a big concern for my skin. This is the only cream that has not given me any pimples. Even though this is suppose to be a firming cream, I use it more for hydrating.

The Cryste Marine Firming Cream is a decent night cream. I got a deluxe trial size (.25 oz.), so I could use it over the span of several nights. (I just used a pea-sized amount for my face every night.) I didn't have any funny skin reactions to it, and it seems like a decent moisturizer. The reason I'm only giving it 3 stars? It just seems like a reasonably good moisturizer, but not a "firming" one. Seems like a lot of hype?

This cream does not moisturize well and clumped up (crumbled) when I rubbed it into my face. It also burned my cheeks - my skin is fairly sensitive and I have rosacea. The matching eye cream is equally as bad - it irritated my eyes and clumped when gently rubbed in.

I like the "Ultra Riche" version of this cream much better. It moisturizers well, doesn't make me break out, and doesn't clump. I also love the serium.

I feel in two minds about Kiehls cryste marine cream, I bought the "ultra riche" version, I think I must be sensitive to some of the ingredients as it made my skin a little pink and reactive. Despite this cream being designed for dry skin types, I didn't find it moisturising in the least l. Bit of a waste of money in my opinion, but might work for others.

I am delighted to find an "affordable" moisturizer that worked so well on my dry, rosacea cheeks. I'm 48 and have a difficult time finding moisturizers that do the job without irritating my skin further. My rosacea responds very well to the sea algae and other ingredients in this light cream. I didn't notice anything waxy about it, just that it sinks right in and makes my skin look lovely. At $47 it's a heck of a lot cheaper than my usual moisturizers (LM).

I've never had dry skin before and I'm usually border oily. This winter my skin completely changed (maybe age related) and I've been so dry that my skin was actually flaking. I tried cream after cream and ended up having many breakouts with continued flakiness. I went to a dermatologist and he gave me Desonide lotion which didn't help at all. I ordered the Kiehls creamy eye w/avacado (HG for me) and received this as a gwp. All I can say is thank God for Kiehls. My peeling and dryness seems to have dissapeared overnight. My eyes are almost back to normal and my skin feels & looks so much better. No breaksouts and no dryness. I'm really impressed with this product. The only trick to get it to go on smoothly is to make sure you're completely dry before applying it. I will definately purchase this in the full size.

Love this!
For the past 6 months I've been trying out all kinds of high end skin care to see what works for my slightly dry sensitive skin. This is probably my favorite skin cream so far. I love the way it sinks into my skin without feeling greasy. It does tingle for about a minute or two after I apply it, but then it's gone. This cream makes my skin look fresh, soft, and clear. I also like to layer this with the cryste marine firming serum.
Will repurchase this!

I have just finished my second jar of this and I think it's a great all around cream. I use it as a night moisturizer and will probably buy it again. I alternate with the expensive Strixaderm.

I really like this cream for my neck and chest. I tried it on my face, but my skin is too sensitive. I will continue to repurchase for my neck and chest area as I noticed less lines and better texture.

For me, this product delivered. I agree with the below comments. For me it did make my face less oily, smoother, and plumper looking in a good way. It has a consistency you wouldn't expect in something called a "cream." It is thick, yes, but I associate cream with oily and greasy. No. This is as someone explained, almost waxy? Yet that sounds negative. Its more like the consistency of a balm but white like a cream.
For reference - my skin type is normal with a little bit of an oily nose, super sensitive / reactive. I use this with its matching serum sometimes at night, about every 3 days when I'm giving my face a rest from putting Neutrogena's on the spot 2.5% benzoyl all over (yes my skin is that sensitive) and always on the mornings after I use the serum/cream, my skin looks smooth, even, not oily on the nose, looks great.

I am now on my 6th jar of this stuff and I really do like it. I have temperamental combo/normal to oily skin, and a lot of products cause me to break out. Cryste Marine cream doesn't irritate my skin, and I like the fact that it sinks right in and doesn't leave an oil-slick on my face. I wake up in the morning with soft skin. However, I have noticed lately, and this is probably due in part to the fact that the air is getting very dry and that I just passed my 40th birthday, but Cryste Marine cream doesn't seem to be doing the trick entirely. I've been using Sothy's Hyroptimale gel on top of the Cryste Marine just to get more hydration. I'm seriously thinking of going back to H20+ Night Oasis, which I had used a couple of years back when my skin was especially dehydrated. My skin loved the Night Oasis. So I think the Cryste Marine is well-suited for normal to combo skin in the warmer months, but it doesn't cut it for the cold, dry winter months.

UPDATE: This is still in the rotation... definitely seems to work better with a serum underneath it...but I keep turning back to this, so I must really like it. It is one of very few products that won't break me out. I suspect that I will keep buying this. I think I'm on my tenth jar of the stuff now...

My skin is fairly normal, and it just seems to maintain the status quo - perhaps slightly better than a $5 lotion. Although I don't dislike the product, I could have the same results with a moisturizer half the price. Thus - I will finish my expensive tub of this purported rejuvenating cream, and then I will try another brand.

This stuff is waaaay too expensive for what it is! I love Kiehl's but this is a very odd face cream. It has a thick texture and feels waxy when you apply it. If dabbed on, it's okay and absorbs immediately but I didn't notice anything different about my skin after two weeks of using it except that I kept breaking out (I have oily skin). I have found many other products that work better than this so I think I'll just save my money.

Being rather new to Kihels, (it's a bit tricky to get in Sweden), I was excited to try out this cream since this is a cream that promises a lot. To improve resilience, elasticity, boost cell renewal and to firm up the skin and rejuvenate at the same time.

I have now been using it for about a month and a half, and it is slowly beginning to grow on me. At first I was really surprised about the effect it had on my skin. This is a very unusual cream.
It's heavy in consistency, but more of a wax-like such as opposed to oily or very moisturizing.
When put on it almost disappears completely no matter how much I put on. The skin seems to absorb it all and to begin with it almost made my skin feel as dry as if I had put nothing on! I was ready to throw it out immediately, but after about 30 minutes my skin started to feel softer almost as if it began to moisturize itself from within. Now, I can't tell if this is the Cryste Marine's doing or not, but I do know that my dry skin doesn't act like that on it's own.

It definately feels like it tightens up the skin, and that is probably due to the somewhat waxy consistency. The firming effect and the somewhat weird softening feel on the skin stays during the day or night, however I haven't been able to notice any long term effect on lines or resilience. But what it does is not bad. And now after some time I think it does a great job in keeping make-up stay fresh throughout the day! So at first I gave this three lippies but now I think it's worth a four. Bottom line. This cream feels weird to begin with. But given some time and some getting used to it has become a really good firming moisturizer that does a great job under make-up and works even for a dry skin.

I really like Kiehl's products. This is no exception. I don't apply this all over my face, I tap it around my eyes and it softens fine lines and soothes any tightness I might have. No greasy after feel and soaks in very fast. I'll continue to use around my eyes as it's working great!
