Tarte's "Frankly, My Dear" has been a staple in my stash for years now. It's so unbelievably rich and pigmented and finely milled. I have even used it wet as an eyeliner. I use this often in my crease and it's just perfect. The only thing that I don't like is the price; I tend to need to keep within the lower range of makeup like Ben Nye or Sormé ($6-8). $17 is a lot for an eyeshadow single of this size, but the product is so nice. Guess I just have to save up.

I absolutely love the texture of Tarte eyeshadows. I am recently on an eyeshadow kick and have been trying a lot of different brands. Tarte makes one of the creamiest shadows. I even like them better than Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier. They go on very buttery, and stay on the entire day. At the end of the day today, I looked at the mirror and was surprised at how fresh my eye makeup still looked.

I just have one complaint: they do not come in too many shades, and most of them are too eccentric for everyday/work.

The Island Duo is a very low pigment duo. It is more of an everyday look-not heavy or overdone. If you press too hard into the compact, the shadow will flake heavily and break apart-esp. the lighter tone. I like this one for a day look, and it is very natural looking and high quality. It has a little sheen, and not sparkly or gawdy. Very professional looking and will buy again when I want a more subtle effect.

The colors used in my recent make-over were the North Island duo. They created a very natural look, and when the artist added a slate gray liner, the look was incredible! I found the colors a bit different than the other reviewer mentioned-the lighter color more of a light peach, and the brown was a mid tone, low shimmer (if any) bronze. I do agree that these need to be refillable, esp with their big push to be a more "green" cosmetic company.

I've been using North Island. Like all Tarte products I've used, the best thing about the eye shadow is that its such good quality you need no special skills whatsoever to apply it and you can wear the stuff anywhere, work, out on the town, whatever. This particular shadow duo is a dark brown and light powder pink and the combo is darling.

These are amazing. Really! If you have not tried Tarte eyeshadows I really recc them. I just tried them for the first time about a month ago and I am so impressed with the silky texture, high pigment, and the way it lasts all day. Perfect rating!!

I have this in Peyton Place which is a beautiful khaki bronze, very shimmery. It's great for going out. The texture is very pleasant, it goes on very smooth. I'm very happy with it.

I have this eyeshadow in "Hot Lips Houlihan," a matte navy blue. I mostly use it as a liner, but I tried it for a smoky look today with good results. It's not as soft and blendable as I like a shadow to be; my favorite is Lancome Maquiriche. This also flaked under my eye a bit, which is never good with a color like dark blue since it's a pain to remove without starting everything over, and anything remaining will accentuate dark circles. I used it with a sponge applicator on the other eye and it was easier to blend with no flaking. It does fade a bit after a few hours. Overall, for the price, I think the quality could be better. It's really dark when used wet, and makes a great liner. I'd say it's quite similar to Revlon Wet/Dry eyeshadows. Tarte does have super cute packaging and a really nice range of colors, including some great matte shades, which I appreciate. I agree with another reviewer who said it was really only worthwhile if it's a unique shade. UPDATE: This flakes like crazy when used as a shadow, and I do not need the creases beneath my eyes to be navy blue! Maybe Revlon is better than this, and they have such good colors. I really wanted this stuff to rock.

I am not that impressed with Tarte's e/s, it seems to me that MAC e/s stays on longer and has more pigment to it. Great if you find a unique color, but I am sticking to MAC.

I have two of these eyeshadows and I love them. I have bathtub gin, which is a shimmery champange. And I have shaken, not stirred which is a matte brown. These shadows feel like silk going on. They look lovely and even and they last basically all day on me. (I have oily lids) I think Tarte is becoming my new brand! I will be buying more! :)
My only (very small) gripe is that I wish they sold refills for the compacts because it seems like such a waste to throw away the entire compact and purchase a new one. Other than that, I absolutely love it!!
