This was an expensive disappointment and left my hair sticky, not volumized. Smells nice but that's about it.

I really wanted to like this, it is expensive for a mouse and it left my thin baby fine hair very sticky and straw like
I don't know if I used to much so will try again

I have baby fine hair but lots of it. This is the best mousse I have ever used and i have used a lot. I just put two lemon sized gobs on either side and comb through. Then style. My hair feels soft and is not sticky.

This is the best cosmetic product i've ever bought. I have dry highlighted slightly wavy hair that usually looks like straw no matter what rich shampoos and intensive conditioners I use. I air dry my hair and I've spent my adult (and teenage) life looking for a product that would take the puffy dry frizzy look away from my hair. This does ALL of that. ALL. I can wash, apply two tangerine sized globs of the mousse to each side of my hair, finger comb it through and go. Soft beachy hair that doesn't look like straw and looks much more polished. Selected by Allure as a best of beauty award winner for 2010. They're not wrong.

I have fine hair but LOTS of hair. Excellent product. Gives bounce, shine, doesn't weigh my hair down. I've tried most of the Nutritive and Volumactive products. This is my favorite so far.

So odd that this product has such low reviews...i have tried kerastase nutri sculpt mousse, phytovolume actif..and nothing gives me thickness and volume like this product. Don't expect crazy height / volume but definitely expect natural lift and body to your hair..I tried using the nutri sculpt mousse but it didn't give me the volume I had gotten use to w/ the volumactive line..LOVE IT. expensive though.

My hair can be washed with bar soap and remain shiny and soft. So I very surprised when I tried this and it made my hair dull and knotted. I tried it both wet and dry many times. I think this may be one of the worst hair products for its price out on the market.

This didn't really do anything for my hair - $30+ for a bottle of nothing. Didn't add volume, didn't help hold a style - nothing. I do find the smell pleasant and it does add a bit of shine, but overall a do-nothing product at a ridiculous price.

First of all ,I'm Kerastase junkie, and I have to try any Kerastase product,so I always end up trying to find the reason to buy some of Kerastase babies. So,I 'decided' that I want/need some of volume to my roots, and bought this mousse.I instantly liked the smell. This is the best smelling stuff arround wich lingers very well.It smells so fresh, clean, like green apples mixed with some of gorgeous perfume. So,i 'pushed' tangerine-amount of this mousse only to my towel-dried roots, and on the rest of my hair I put Ciment Termique. At first, mousse seemd a little bit sticky, and it was really a bit harder to comb my brush thorough my hair, but nothing I couldn't handle. So,after I finished my hair with drying,I really got a tons of volume on my roots,my straight waist-lenght hair really seemd like more bouncy, and totally limpless {wich is my big problem usually}.Also,at first,it didn't seem like mousse dried my hair out,or made my flyaways more obvious. But just at first.Over time, even though I really got volume, this mousse made my flyaways more and more obvious, and even dried my hair out a little bit {but nothing dramatic, comparing to other mousses}.So,I gave it to my Mom {She is all into mousses} who has curly hair and She adores it and keep telling me that this is the most beautifull mousse in the world.Well,I'm not obvously mousse-type of girl, especially because I have straight hair, and want it to stay that way. So,I think this mousse is perfect for curly-haired ladies who wants an extra-volume but without sticky curls arround.
SO,I really do think that this is the best mousse arround {it really doesn't dry hair out like other mousses or make hair sticky}.Comparing to other mousses this one is really other world, but mousse is mousse,so generously if You don't like the way mousse acts on your hair, don't buy this.

The product I have tried is called Volumactive Amplifying Perfecting Mousse - I think this is the same product as it's the nearest I could find.
I am surprised that some people have had a bad reaction to this mousse. I suppose everyone's hair is different. My hair is very fine and straight and I find it does a good job of adding a bit of volume and also makes it shiny as well. I always use the Volumactive shampoo first - don't know if that makes a difference. I generally try to use all the products in a range as they are designed to be used together.
I use this by spraying the mousse into my hands first and I would really prefer that it had a nozzle so that you can get down into the roots for extra volume.

I just got my Kerastase Mousse Volumactive in the mail last night and used it immediately this morning. I was kind of expecting a lot from this considering the amount I paid for it ($34!!!). I used it after shampoo-ing my hair with the Bain Volumactive shampoo. Ok, so I put about a lemon-sized amount of this mousse on my hair and blow-dryed it upside down like I always do. When I finished drying my hair I brushed it and guess what happened... STATIC!!! Ugh I HATE static-y hair! For sure this was because of the mousse! Not only that, my hair felt DRY and sort of sticky afterwards. Plus my it made my hair look MATTE and not shiny at all. Sorry to say, but I will NOT be buying this product again. It's not worth it guys!!! I'm sticking to my TRESemme Thickening Mousse. It's way better!

I have very mixed feelings about this. I love the other products in this range so much that I was surprised and didn't fall in love with this straight away too. I like the smell, which i think is clean and fresh and lasts a long time on my hair after washing. The thing that is putting me off is that it is very sticky and can make my hair very tuggy especially just after applying it. However, after using this I find that I can wake up 2 days in a row and not have to do anything with my hair hair at all. Obviously this is a good thing as using straighteners every day is not ideal! It also gives volume to my fine hair without making me look like I have just stepped out of the eighties!

I've been using this for awhile now and can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet, esp. how shocking it is with all these bad reviews!! I was lucky enough to score 1/2 - almost full bottle of this during one of my swaps. I love it ♥. I air-dry my hair so I need something that will give me some texture and volume...this does it without drying out my hair or leaving it a sticky mess. I will def. buy this again when I run out. It makes me want to try the whole Volumactive line by Kerastase.

Didn't see any increase in volume. Actually left my fine hair feeling kinda sticky. Am sure there are probably cheaper and better products out there.

I looooove Kerastase products and am usually very devoted to the line but this product disappointed me. I really wanted this to be "holy grail" but alas it is not, at least for me. The first time I used it, my hair felt smooth and soft and looked great but the second time and beyond, my highlighted blonde hair (naturally I am a light auburn) felt dry and my ends were stiff. Initially, I was afraid that my highlights were the cause but I came to soon realize that it was the mousse. I think it may have protein in it and perhaps it was building up in my hair and making it feel brittle. My stylist told me that too much protein can make hair feel brittle so I am guessing this is why this particular product did not work for me. I need control and moisture so I am going to stick with my Paul Mitchell Super Sculpt Styling Glaze. Sorry, Kerastase.

I love this mousse! The first time my hairdresser pulled out the mousse, I rolled my eyes since mousse has never given my hair any body or been a beneficial styling tool. Mousse has always weighed down my baby-fine hair. Suffice it to say that I have steered far away from mousse, preferring, instead, a gel or spray styling aid. My hairdresser was insistent, though, that I would love the voluactive mousse. It's been eight months now and I love the volumactive mousse. It imparts great body to my hair and helps me create the style I want in my hair. Although it is on the expensive side, I need just a small amount for my chin-length hair so the product lasts.

This works really well at the beginning, it gave my permed hair enough amount of lift needed. After some time I realized that the mousse has dried my hair out and note that I do treatment whenever I wash my hair and put a leave in conditioner & Kerastase Aqua Resist on top of that to protect my hair.
Update. I am reviewing the latest version of the mousse that just arrived. It is very volumising and doesn't cause tangles. It gives you the sophisticated big hair look that is in every fashion magazine. It is advisable that you still use some shine enchancing products afterwards.

I'm not so sure about that mousse. It is not bad, not at all, but I used to have better that costed less. I would say it is only average. I will not repurchase. I'm sure that Kerastase line is seriously overpriced.
