I lov the color and you have to apply over lipstick for the shine and shimmer to show. I also love the vanilla scent. Its divine! It lasts all day doesnt bleed or feather over lipstick despite the hot climate. The consistency is thick so it lasts and lasts. It comes in a small tube yet its so pricey. I have tried the white and ruby shimmer and really love them but have to add that BB is expensive and thats my only problem with BB products.

I was recommended this at the Bobbi Brown counter after one of their wonderful makeover sessions - I hadn't worn lip gloss before but this more muted but shimmery shade of pink suited my pale skin and red-brown hair perfectly.
After purchasing the product I tried it out myself - not such a great result! The nail polish style brush was pretty ineffective so I ended up skipping that and applying it with my finger (although I understand this has now been altered to a more manageable one) and the gloss was much too gloopy and sticky for my liking - I can't stand my hair constantly sticking to my face! The gloss got even stickier the longer I had it and eventually turned into a glue-like consistency after the 6 month mark. However the colour is gorgeous with just the right amount of shimmer.
I've found plenty of more effective glosses for £2 and under - in the UK this retails for £17 which is steep for the small amount of product you get - I won't be buying again when there are much cheaper alternatives that work better for me! This would be great for anyone who prefers a thicker gloss and doesn't mind a sticky formula, especially on fair skin and dark red/brown hair as it's such a lovely, universally suited shade of gloss.

The color is nice, I understand that it has to be sticky to get a longer lasting effect, but....the size of this lipgloss is not even the size of my pinky! It is 3/4 the size of my pinky!
I thought the testers were just tiny because they were testers. When I got home and saw that it was actually the size they were selling I could not believe it. I'm outraged and shocked. Picture how tiny that is for $22.00 WTH?
Edit: As of 08/2011 they have repackaged this lipgloss to be a full-sized gloss, and taken away the hideous nail polish-type brush and replaced it with a more traditional brush. This change is welcomed and long overdue.

This is one of my favorite lip glosses out there--the texture, the shade, the wearability...I love it! I just hate the stupid brush that it comes with--come on Bobbi, you can't come up with a better applicator? REALLY?
And for the price, you don't get a lot--another drawback, but not a deal-breaker. I would repurchase, b/c I've never found a close enough shade (btw, it's a light, neutral, shimmery peachy-pink that looks great on anybody) that wears as well as this one. I heart Bobbi Brown!
UPDATE: Ok, I guess I can stop complaining about the lame brush applicator cuz Bobbi has replaced it with a doe-foot applicator! Rock on, BB.

My all time favorite lip gloss. It has the perfect balance of staying power to stickiness. There is a subtle pleasant scent and taste to it. The only reason I wear anything else is because I get bored of wearing this one shade. I always get compliments on it and friends have asked to try it on right after seeing me wear it LOL

I really, really, like this lip gloss. It is a great color that goes with anything and it nice on its own. I purchased this two years ago and when I had trouble getting the remainder out of the tube I tossed it into my super large makeup basket in my bathroom. Today, I felt like my lipstick was a little dry and needed some gloss. I usually use Bobbi brightening gloss in pink, but I rummaged around and pulled this out. I was able to scape enough out to use. I loved the result. I went straight to Nordstrom and bought a new one. It is a flattering natural look.

Didn't intend to get BB lip glosses as I have many! Tried Stila, MAC, Revlon, Biotherm, Marjorlica etc etc. brands but this one, i like it above them all! V awesome neutral rose shade, pair on top of a neutral lipstick it's awesome. However, i just discovered CD Ultra-Gloss and I like that effect over this, even those i like BB's color, and brush just as well but took a lippie off for the finishing compared to CD's!

Oh the memories. I can't believe I have not reviewed this lipgloss. This was my first BB lip gloss, and one that I would have never chosen on my own. It looks plummy with a bit of shimmer, and I was a matte kind of girl. I thought the SA was not kind when he told me it my colors were all wrong and decided on the spot I needed a makeover. Rude or not, it is the best advice I got from an SA. This was also the start of my love of BB makeup. But back to the lipgloss - there is very little color on it's own on my very pigmented lips, so I layer it on top of lipstick. The brush as many have mentioned is not the best, but the SA used a lipbrush to apply the actual gloss, which I also do as I find the one that comes in the tube a bit rough and does not spread evenly. Also, there is a lot of product left over that you can't reach. I use a clean disposable cuticle remover to get out as much of the gloss, and I put it on a pan palette that I have from BB, and then just apply it with a brush.
I have NC35/40 skin with dark brown eyes and hair.

I hate that I can’t get the last of the gloss out of the tube but I'll probably repurchase anyway. Perfect amount of shine, not too glassy and superb staying power. It’s very hydrating and doesn’t tide on my lipline. The shimmer is very subtle.

The Bobbi Brown SA kept pushing this one on me, so I ended up buying it in the end. The color is a pretty light burgundy rose with shimmer. Looks great on the lips, sticky and long lasting. The tube is way small though, and the gloss much too expensive. Also, if you do not hurry up and use this, the vanilla scent disappears and the remaining industrial "goo" is not so fun to apply on your lips.

I'm working on my second tube. A bit pricey, but lasts me a long time. This is a stick lip gloss, but I don't mind that, so not an issue for me. Long-lasting--which I appreciate as I need something to stand up against my coffee drinking habit!! Most important, pretty, pretty color on me (cool, fair, blonde).

I have reviewed this gloss under my prior account as lipaholic back in 2003. I just want to say that I am still buying this gloss for it's goopiness. I like to wear gloss that has some pigmentation to it. I like gloss that doesn't disappear on the first drink of a beverage.

I like the color but hate that the package is so small and that it's so goopy, my hair sticks to it. It would be so much better if it had a doe foot applicator, because it would give better control during the application. I don't think I'd buy again, solely on the fact that I hate the packaging.

Love rose sugar! Great color and, for a gloss, it has staying power. Only complaint, needs a better built-it brush, existing one is a bit stiff. Still, love this gloss.

This is one of my all time favourite lip glosses. I've bought this 3 times already. The only reason I've not bought it more times than that is that I've promised myself that I'll use up my other lip glosses first before buying anymore :)
This is a nice neutral pale pink shade with a bit of shimmer. Gives you a gorgeous natural look that's perfect for everyday!
I love Bobbi Brown lipgloss packaging as it seals tightly so the product doesn't leak like other brands. The size is also perfect for carrying around in your pocket and doesn't take up much room in a make-up bag.
UPDATE: I wrote my original review on this back in 2008, and it's now 4 years later and I'm still using and in love with this lipgloss! Definitely an HG product for me.

Yes, it's too expensive and yes, the little flayed-bristle brush is a nuisance -- but Rose Sugar is still the most universally flattering, any-occasion gloss I've ever found! I get so many compliments when I wear it. I find this gloss to be a little more long-wearing than most. Another plus is that it's not super-sticky, like Mac's Lipglass. Give it a try, I predict you will love the color.

This is the perfect color for pigmented lips. A Bobbi Brown MA put it on me and people were stopping by the counter just to compliment on the lip color! And there is no other color like it on the market. A MAC MA tried to find a dupe because I felt that the Rose Sugar was a little expensive for my taste. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. HOWEVER, I love this color and regardless of the price-- I would probably buy it again because the color is so unique. =)
CONS: Like many before me have said, the brush it comes with is the most awkward little thing. It reminds me of a nail polish brush but it neither pick up a sufficient amount of product nor does it apply the gloss well . I would rather take off the cotton from a q-tip and dip it in the lip gloss container and apply the gloss on my lips that way. OR you can use a separate lip brush if you have one.

Ok, I am raving about the color of this gloss - not the packaging.
The Cons:
First of all, the tube is TINY TINY and I think I paid $20 for it. It does last a long time if you don't use it everyday - I have had mine a year. Secondly, I hate the brush. It splays and it is just all sorts of wrong and I find it glops a blob of gloss in one place and then I have to smooth it out. I find the texture to be a BIT thick, but it does last a long time on my lips, so I can deal with that.
The Pros:
These far outweigh the cons :) This is a gorgeous mauve shimmer that I find works with almost ever lipstick I own - and I own a lot! I originally bought it as a companion to Bobbi's "Brown" lip color, but in a pinch I used it over "Roseberry" and I found it worked beautifully over that, too, and those lipsticks are COMPLETELY different colors. It gave the "Roseberry" gorgeous depth and lightened it just a bit. I have also used it with the shades in Bobbi's Brown's current Nude lip and eye palette and it works great. I like the shimmer because it is subtle.
As much as I don't like a lot of things about this gloss, I would definitely repurchase because I adore the color and find this could probably be the only gloss I could ever own and it would work with everything.

This is the BEST lipgloss and the most flattering shade of better than my own lips pinky brown with a hint of shimmer.
The brush is the worst thing about this product - if you are not careful it splays really badly. If you are careful though you can avoid this - just twist the lid and brush as you are pushing it back into the tube (don't jab in back in quickly). Normally the bad brush would be enough to stop me using a product like this but the staying power of this gloss is amazing, it feels great on my lips and for that I'd really forgive it the brush.
A true HG lipgloss.
