I still mourn for the loss of this in shade #1. It was the perfect pinky, bronzed shade with a wonderful texture that produced a subtle glow. Difficult to make a mistake with it as it was light and buildable. So different from the Nars bronzer as it was much softer in texture and thankfully without the glitter that highlights an oily t-zone.
Chantecaille's bronzer in Capri is nowhere near as good as this shade although its texture is bettter than Nars Luguna
I wish it could be produced again or there was a good dupe. Perhaps Tom Ford will produce something like it.

Lovely bronzer i have it in # 2 and is slightly dark for my NC25 (even i apply very careful) Is only because i apply after moisturizer ..without any foundation. If i apply make up under the color is perfect
Other way amazing product.
It is golden tan that gives a lovely sun-kissed flush; it's long-lasting and it really does illuminate my skin.. NO break outs!!! I LOVE IT...but..Discontinued

I bought the #2, and slightly worried but I know with my nc30-35 tone, this would be perfect. The compact design is stunning as with all of Marais's products, this no exception. Quality of the powder is amazing- one of the best BEST bronzers, doesnt go orange, or brown or muddy- just sheer perfection and you have to love the design, "only for primates"... If your lucky enough to get this, definetely do, its worth it, I'll be using this for certain till its done.

Almost as good as everyone else says it is. Looks very natural and beautiful, comes in a gorgeous compact. Too bad the line's discontinued, but I'll use this until it's all gone.

Amazing product! This is the first bronzer that looks good on me, NW15-20 PPP pink complexion blonde. I look like I have spent a week in the sun. WHY did he have to discontinue his line? Edited to add:
The blush/bronzer in Too Faced Quickie in Beach Bunny (mini palette) is a GREAT dupe for this bronzer. Try it. It looks slightly darker in the pan, but on the skin, it is IDENTICAL! yay! :)

i don't know how it is that i have never reviewed this product. i wear shade #2 on a daily basis (that is, whenever i wear makeup). it is perfect. everything about it. of course the packaging is a delight, but the color is to die for. i always get compliments on my skin tone and i owe it all to stephane marais (whom i respect as a makeup artist as well, love his book "beauty flash," a collection of polaroids). anyway, it might seem useless to write a review since the line has been discontinued, but if you can find a way to get your hands on this product i strongly recommend it. you can see it on me in any of my pictures. when i found out it was discontinued, i immediately called every single barney's and was able to purchase 4 from the chicago store (this was months ago). if you find it anywhere online and you are looking for the *perfect* bronzer, do pick it up. but only if you can get multiples because you will not want to live with out it. what can i say, i am in love. ♥

This is an allright bronzer. Its nice but i have several bronzers i like better. I got this in #2 which is a little dark for me. I am a light olive nc30 and this can look slightly orangey if you apply to much. I first applied this with a fluffy powder brush and got way too much color. I then tried it with a fan bronzer blush and got a much more realistic bronzed look. It also has a hint of very fine shimmer to it that i dont notice on my skin. Because this is darker than i like, I wouldnt repurchase. I would like to try #1 though. Retails for $38 and comes in a compact with a design on the front in pink. Cute but alot of $$$ for this.

My first bronzer and love it to bits because of my fair complexion despite being an Asian (I use #1). The colour is not that obvious, which is what I'm looking for anyway because I don't want to look too made-up. It highlights my facial features perfectly and my skin tone doesn't look that pale anymore. I often use this with BeneTint and voila! Healthy skin comes alive! I definitely don't regret purchasing this one as it doesn't give me the "dirty" look at all. Thank you MUAers for great reviews on this one! It really lives up to its name.

I initially tried this in #1 and it didn't show up on me at all(I'm in between MAC NC20&25 foundation wise)so I swapped #1 for #2 but feared #2 would be too dark for me...Looks kind've orangey in the compact which scared me at first. To my surprise,it's perfect..I applied it with my NARS bronzer brush &it gave me a fabulous(realistic)tan...Yah!!

This bronzer did not do much for me. I am very fair and it looked nice on my skin, but it was not great. For the price, I expected more. I returned it.

I also will not ruin this run of perfect reviews. I am new to the world of bronzers, the only one I can compare this to is Nars Laguna. The Stephane Marais bronzer, for me at least is much better than Laguna. I'm pretty fair skinned, the Laguna made me look dirty or muddy. I got the Stephane Marais bronzer in #1, and it is absolutely wonderful. It gives a nice, healthy, sun kissed glowy sort of look. The wonderful thing about this bronzer is that it is completely buildable, even when I put more on, it doesn't look muddy at all. I think it must be the peachy color that is in this bronzer, that enables the buildability. If Stephane Marais is really being discontinued,
then you ought to do everything you can to get it while you can.

I will definately not ruin these perfect reviews on here. I went nuts trying to find this bronzer so I purchased it on barneys.com and am not disappointed at all! I bought the darker color called sunny kiss just because so many people on here said that the first shade was too light. Definately the most gorgeous bronzer I have ever tried in my life...VERY natural and definately worth the money. =)

This is peachy golden tan that gives a very delicate sun-kissed flush; it's long-lasting and it really does illuminate your skin from within, rather than having shimmer sit on top of your face. However it is so light that this works more on me as a blush than a bronzer. I'm NC30/winter, NC35/summer, and I'm not sure I'll be able to wear this as summer goes on - this may wind up being a winter bronzer for me. I know a lot of girls order SM sight unseen, so I'd warn the darker-complected girls to be really careful with this as it may not show up at all on them. But if you're scared of orange/gaudy bronzers, want a tasteful bronzer to wear during the day, or are light-skinned, don't pass this up.

A beautifull compact but most of all a great product. The color ( I have the Nr1) is very natural not at all orange, a little shimmer but not too much. it gives you a nice sunny glow but subtle. I love it!

Wow! Finally a bronzer I look good in. #1 is one of the palest bronzers I have seen and would probably be too light if you're darker than, for example, MAC NC35. Doesn't make me look tan, just healthy. Not orange, not streaky, not too powdery or too shimmery. Just perfect. So far all Stephane Marais products I've tried live up to the hype.

One word, PERFECTION!!! OMG, hands down the most gorgeous bronzer on the market. I have tried all the high end bronzers on the market (Chantecaille, Nars etc), this one is absolute perfection & the compact is incredibly chic as well. Finally a believable bronzer with the perfect balance of glow without over done shimmer. #1 is a stunning shade of warm peach with a golden light brown color that enhances the complexion to give a wonderful healthy glow to skin without looking over done or fake. Just adore this!!! I would give it a 10 if I could. :)

Again, the packaging is spectacular. So chic. I purchased #1, which is a light peach/gold tone with a slight shimmer (not frost). I can't say it's my HG, because I have fallen in love with my Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Bronzer (more neutral golden tone with no shimmer). BUT, I dust a little of this on over it to give a little more color and "glow" and use it to pop my eyes when I'm using neutral tones. Worth every penny. The prettiest compact ever.

"no.1" is my HG bronzer. Not really sparkly, but a peachy tan that gives a lovely glow to light-medium skin. very blendable and doesn't clog pores, moderate price. Cool packaging, great line of cosmetics.
