Tan is a great midtone eyeshadow, great for complementing any neutral eyeshadow palette and can also serve as a base.
I am new to the Bobbi Brown eyeshadows and I'm enjoying the quality very much, supr blendable, great staying powder and flattering on skin tones from fair to medium.

I am only starting to write reviews and thought that I would review this eye shadow first. It's been a while since I've bought this eyeshadow, but have only recently began using it. In the pan, it looks quite boring and unimpressive; however, it is the best color to use for a very understated, yet flattering crease color. It seems to be very nice with bright colors on the lid and this as a very natural crease color. This combo gives a basic look without an in your face I am wearing makeup look. It just brightens up the eye!

Tan is a light beige brown shade -- beautifully blendable and just the right depth. I really like Bobbi Brown's shadows and haven't found one yet that doesn't work well with other shades. Tan is quite versatile, and can work with many looks.

Tan is an eyeshadow that I use not only on the eyes but on the face. The color is a pale neutral brown. This makes the perfect contour color for the face for skin tones from fair to medium. It doesn't turn yellow or go grey, but it is more ashy in color than her bronzers. As an eyeshadow, it is a midtone color similar to her taupe. If you found the taupe to be too warm or too yellow based, this is a great alternative. Pigment and texture is creamier than her old formulation. It definitely has a smoother feel and applies smoothly onto the skin. I use this color with BB Flesh and BB sable for a neutral eye look. Very polished!
Ingredients: talc, polyethylene, zinc stearate, tricaprylin, tetrasodium EDTA, chlorphenesin, potassium sorbate. May contain: choromium oxide greens, iron oxides, ultramarine blue, manganese violet, mica, titanium dioxide, ferric ferrocyanide, bismuth oxychloride, carmine, chromium hydroxide green.

Great everyday neutral. Good quality & wearability, no chalkiness, goes on smooth. No surprises on the color, just a nice medium tan color.

I got this color in the basics eye pallette and it is a bit lighter than taupe. I think it is a great color and hope it becomes a regular in the line. I would buy this if it were available as a single.

Love this shade. Works as the perfect accenting neutral to my MMM, NC35 skin. Goes on silky smooth, stays on forever, is an excellent base for shimmery shadows, yet subtle enough for daytime on its own. Came with my much beloved Fall Style File 2004, which was very much worth it.

The more I wear Bobbi Brown, the more I love their products. What I love about their eye shadows is that the colors are skin tone flattering, highly pigmented, and finely milled. This TAN came exclusively in the "Fall 2004 Style File" (created for Neiman Marcus) and was especially the reason I wanted the collection. I wore this today to the gym ... my usual testing ground ... to see how it worked. It performed beautifully; it stayed put with no creasing. The color is a creamy pale brown, a half step deeper than Malted and a half step lighter than Taupe. I wore it on the lower lid and crease with Eye Shadow - Bone as an all-over base, Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow - Bone under my eyebrows, and Eye Shadow - Espresso lining my upper and lower lashes (with black mascara). I'm an MMM, with neutral warm-toned Type IV/V skin, wearing MAC NW25 without a tan; very dark brown hair, very dark brown eyes with a gray ring around the iris. Some brown eye shadows look like I have dirt and grime on my face ... not this Tan; it looks like my lids are creamy but softly defines them so you can tell the difference between the overall background and my lower lids. This eye look is especially good for a day-neutral face, with beige and pink in your other colors (cheeks and lips). Great choice!
