I really like this lip balm but only because it is the cleaner UK version. I've tried the US version before I realized it had paraben and borax (aka, the stuff you use to kill ants and bugs!). UK version is smooth, moisturizing and doesn't get gritty over time. It also moisturizes and doesn't dry out my lips over time like the US version. Has anyone caught on to the drastic ingredient difference?? Sucks to have to order from overseas. Come on North America Lush......can we get the better formulation here??
Ps. The scent does smell a little like chocolate but when on the lips, a strong smokey scent develops? I don't pick up any orange? Still nice though.

I wouldn't take it even if someone gave it for FREE!!! First off, opening the tin itself is such a pain. Getting the product onto your lips is even worse. Its hard as rock! I have to keep it near the heater, wait for it to get soft and then apply...now who wants to WAIT to apply a lip balm? Ok once you apply, here's what sucks...it STICKS like a hardened wax coat on the lips!! Absolutely hate it. I am never buying it again.

Give me cheaper, better smelling, non-weirdly tinted Palmer's Cocoa Butter over this any day of the week. Like many Lush products, this one is a bit bizarre in terms of smell and application. I like the smell - like chocolate and oranges! But I hate applying gritty things to my lips, and this balm is GRITTY and hard to apply. It takes awhile for the grit to melt once applied, but still does not function well as a moisturizer underneath lipsticks. Pass.

Disappointing scent, taste and texture. The product smells too waxy, with little chocolate and no orange scent. Tastes waxy as well. Texture is somewhat stiff when applying, and the product has no staying power. Not worth the money at all.

Lush lip balms are amazing if used correctly. They seem waxy at first because you need to rub your finger on it to warm it up so it gets melty/spreadable. Sometimes they are really dry and don't spread even after warming them up; in that case you need to break through the 'top layer' and stir it up. They are very smooth and creamy and feel very moisturizing on. These HAVE improved my lips a ton and are the only liobalms that help my dry flakey lips in the winter. Works especially well in combination with the lip scrubs. The scent is chocolate with a bit of orange - smells delicious but doesn't taste at all (which is probably a good thing). The packaging is inconvenient for travel but its ok for use at home. This isn't supposed to be tinted but is a tiny bit, not very noticeable when on. $7 so it's mid-range price, but I've bought so many icky liobalms for $1-$2 that never work so for me it's worth it. Will last a long time even with daily use since such a small amount is needed.

I have really dry lips from medication, and I remembered by this lip balm a couple of years ago when I was in London and liking it, so I decided to try it again.
I am SO GLAD I picked it up. I don't know why I ever stopped using it. It smells DELICIOUS and it really does help my cracked, chapped lips.
As an example, my lips are so chapped that it's not uncommon for me to wake up and discover that my lips are bleeding and cracked. I used this balm the first night I got it, and I woke up to lips that were soft, if still chapped. It was like a miracle.
Also, it doesn't break out the skin around my mouth, as other lip balms I've tried tend to do.

This is the second lip balm I've tried from LUSH (first being Honey Trap and I adore it!) I must say this one's equally just as good! It has the similar solid feel of honey trap.. But once it's warmed, the texture feels beautifully soft and silky. It looks like chocolate and smells like chocolate too with a hint of orange.. And I think the smell is absolutely delish! Now the color of the balm is dark brown.. and on your lips it appears almost clear with a slight brownish tint which shouldn't bother you since it doesn't look very obvious. Yes, its moisturizing and softening, smells amazingly good and i actually like the packaging.. so all in all, its a very good product! The price is quite high for a lip balm, but this little tin lasts for a considerably long time, so I'm okay with it.

Smells incredible, with the chocolate and orange natural flavours. Fantastic smooth texture and such a cute, convenient small tin. Your lips will smell and taste great! The one I have is expired so I'm about to toss it but I used it until it was just a crust around the edges and it lasted really well. I'll be looking out for another one of these!

I love the smell of cocoa in it. It makes my lips soft. I use this product under lipstick or after the bubblegum lip scrub and the combination of smells/flavors go good together IMO.

Ok, I don't know if I just bought a bad one, but this did not taste like anything. Not only that, but it also has little gritty white things in there. I also wish the packaging was in a pot like lush's lip scrubs, which would make this soo much easier to open and use. The tin this comes in is not the easiest to open especially since it contains greasy product. All that aside, this lip balm is great at moisturizing. this thing stays on for hours and when its gone, my lips feel soo soft. It's the best lip balm I've ever used, and not that expensive for about $7.

I got this is a gift, in a lovely Lush gift-box that I recieved for my birthday. This smells so good, like oranges and chocolate which is one of my favourite taste combinations. It tastes quite nice too. Moisture wise, it works quite well, but I certainly wouldn't turn to it for seriously dry lips. I prefer to put it under lipsticks so they apply smoother. Unfortunately, it's tricky to use and is the product is quite hard, it needs a bit of melting before being applied. You do get quite a full pot of this stuff though, and maybe in summer it will be easier to use (it's autumn here in Australia). It leaves no colour on your lips either, which is a plus for my complexion, but might me a minus if you're after a coloured balm. Quite nice and a bit of fun, but not enough to warrant repurchasing (unless I figure out a way to make it softer).

I really do love this for a night lip treatment.
It softens and smooths and leaves lips wonderfully soft and supple.
Pros:
delicious smell
natural ingredients
smooths and softens the driest of lips
portable
Cons:
the pot screw on lid container is a pain to open
small amount for the price
only available at Lush stores or online
dipping your finger into the pot (heat is needed to soften the natural oils in the balm, so a lip brush doesn't pick up much product.)

This smells so good!! It smells just like chocolate and oranges and applied so smoothly. However, I HATE the look of this lip-balm on your lips. Once my friend said you have some chocolate on your mouth and it was the lip-balm!! It doesn't really stay put on your lips but kind of runs on the outsides. I use this before bed to savor the smell and enjoy the taste but that's it.

Really love the smell and taste of this product! Tastes just like chocolate and my boyfriend loves chocolate so I get plenty of kisses when I wear this! The main complaint I have with this product is that it tends to dry out a lot so I have to work quite hard to melt the product so I can use it again. But it is fairly moisterising but not the best lip balm by far. Undecided whether I would repurchase this or not because I don't think it's really worth the money just for the chocolate taste but I wouldn't say it's an awful product at all.
I also initially found the tin really difficult to open but it's fine now.

it smells nice - like chocolate - but i don't like balms that come in a pot generally. i didn't find it did anything to my lips which is disappointing since all other lush products i've tried have worked so well. i didn't find it gave my lips any extra moisture so i probably won't be repurchasing.

Whipstick is a lovely lip moisturizer that smells like a Terry's chocolate orange. I find that it is extremely moisturizing, and helps keep my chapped Canadian lips in good sorts. It is a bit pricey however, but a little bit of this stuff goes a long way, and it's very effective.
Whipstick is probably my favourite of the lip moisturizers that Lush sells, with Honeytrap lip moisturizer and It Started With A Kiss lip tint following closely behind.

Got this in a Christmas gift box. I like the chocolate orange scent/flavour. However I find this to be gritty when applying and worse of all it leaves a brown/orange tint on my lips. Looks like ive been licking pooh or something. Its not very creamy and although i have issues with the coral colour of the Pommegranate Korres lip jelly...i still think it applies much better then the Lush Whipstick. Overall i prefer MAC Lip conditioner.

I liked the chocolate orange smell and taste of this. I also liked how it was quite moisturizing. However, the tin packaging of this where you have to dip your finger in each time to grab product is extremely unsanitary (I can't always use clean fingers when I am out in public with no access to a sink and restroom to wash my hands). The price at 6.95 Cdn is also overpriced for lip balm. I can find something similar for half the price or less at a drugstore. I only gave this a try because I am normally a fan of Lush products. Lastly, I found sodium borate (Borax) in this! I don't understand why Lush used this in a lip product. I mean yes it may help to preserve it, but it is also a skin irritant. Additionally, it may cause harmful side effects if ingested (research it for yourself if you don't believe me). I think my Whip Stick is going straight into the garbage...
EDIT: I just checked out the ingredients of all other lip balms and tints. Both the lip tints, as well as None Of Your Beeswax lip balm are free of sodium borate. Therefore, I might try NOYB if I can get over the packaging, but not the tints for sure since I am not a fan of them.

Nothing works for me like Whipstick. On top of it I compulsively pick at my lips... so I know my lip balm! Chapstick, does not compare. Not even carmex. Or lip gloss, duh. All of these feel like they 'sit' on top of the lips, and don't moisturize as well and as fast as Whipstick does. Also, I just love the feeling, whereas I find chapstick too slippery/greasy. Whipstick is more rich.
loyal to whipstick for 5 years +. Also like to use as a base and put lipstick on top.
