I should start by saying that Yosh is a natural perfume: it doesn't have alcohol or aroma chemicals in it & it will smell different on every person! It's a bad idea to buy this kind of perfume without testing it first. Just put tiny amount (it is very strong!!!) on your pulse points and wear it through out the day, notice how it transitions. I smelled Stargazer on other people and liked it, however it didn't work for me at all. It smell very strong, soapy and cheap on me. That's the THING with natural perfumes: some people wear it and smell great, some-stink!:-))) So always try it first yourself!!! I also met Yosh in person. She is very lovely and down to earth. What makes her perfumes great is her passion for her craft!

Not only is this perfume oil fleeting but Yosh Stargazer is by far the worst perfume representation of stargazer lily that I have ever tried. The scent is mostly ginger and Kenya lily (I believe a water lily). You would not think that the combination of these two notes would create a stargazer accord. Well it doesn't. Yosh Stargzer lacks that spicy, sweet, slightly medicinal scent that sublime stargazers have. The only lily scent that I have experienced that even comes close is Ava Luxe Stargazer and even that is not quite right.

This is absolutely fabulous. It smells exactly like White Ginger which is a very hard scent to replicate. This is the only one that even comes close, in fact it is exact. Maybe the name is misleading, hence the bad reviews There is Kenya Lily in here, but the top note is White Ginger which grows in Hawaii. The lily scent is in the background but mostly I smell White Ginger. Although I was expecting a Stargazer Lily fragrance because of the name, I don't mind because I adore White Ginger. Some of the reviews said that it smells nothing like Stargazer or Ginger and another said that Yosh added the "hot spice of ginger". "White Ginger" is not the same ginger that most people are referring to in the reviews. It is the same genus, but a different species of ginger family and looks and smells nothing like the hot spicy ginger that we eat. It is a flower with a sweet pungent scent, slightly reminiscent of honeysuckle, but different. It is not hot or spicy. I am a big white ginger fan and love this immensely. I need not look further to find the perfect white ginger in a bottle. It is a yellow flower that smells divine. If you are looking for a Stargazer Lily scent, this is not it, but if you want to be transported to the rainforests in Hawaii, where the White Ginger flower grows, this is as good as it gets!

I had heard so much about Yosh's perfumes and I love Stargazer lilies so I was all prepared to have found a new love. It was bottled in an adorable, tiny little crystal flacon with clean lines (think early Chanel No. 5 bottle) and promised good things ahead. Unfortunately, it was not to be.
On me, Yosh Stargazer smelled like a cheap, knock-off lily fragrance which was cloying and needy. It kept shrieking, "smell me!". It only came in an "oil" so my wrist felt uncomfortably slippery after putting it on. And talk about long-lasting. This scent would not go away! Even after 6 hours, a hot shower and scrubbing my wrist with a buf-puf and soap, it was still annoyingly there. I hope whoever buys Stargazer smells and tests it first to see if they can live with it because for $130/1 oz. it is not cheap.
If you want a true and perfect lily fragrance, my suggestion is Serge Lutens' Un Lys or Frederice Malle's Lys Mediterranee.
ps: Lest you think I am a Yosh hater, I adored Sottile by the way. Oil or no, it was a fabulous earthy rose fragrance.

I like this perfume, but on me it does not smell fresh nor green AT ALL; instead on my skin Stargazer is dark fruits (plums, cherries, pomegranates) with a mildly licorice undercurrent. Very different, and nice for winter.

I just love this fragrance. It's so fresh, green and delicate. And very feminine. It smells amazing. I don't get the bad reviews.

I was fearful of writing a negative review of this, sure that others had raved about it and my comments would be seen as deliberately nasty, so I was glad to see that my experience with this perfume was nearly universal. It's a terrible gloppy thing. It's like YOSH tried to IMPROVE and warm up the beautifully cool, green scent of lilies by adding the hot spice of ginger and the effect isn't even gingerly lily. It is almost candied and sticky like something left on the dashboard on a hot day. But what would that be? Gum? Hair gel? Silly Putty? It's definitely a gel of some sort. And there's more! The base of this perfume is very flat and obviously a base and it is a bit like kerosene. Which I might add the lily note tries and fails to rise above. It's in there somewhere, asphyxiating. The whole thing is way too sweet and thickened beyond repair. If Michaels crafts store made a lily potpourri fragrance oil and sold it for .99, this is what it would smell like. And you'd finally throw it out eight years later when cleaning your cupboard, wondering why you always make dumb impulse purchases just because something is cheap. Oh boy. Adding insult to injury is that you can get two marvelous lily fragrances for the same or less cost. I could almost forgive it if it cost five dollars, but no more.

I have just received a lovely big lot of samples from LuckyScent and this is the first one I turned to, because I would dearly love to find a lily scent that is as lovely as the flowers themselves. I also spotted a bottle for sale on eBay. Oh dear, I loathe Stargazer! It has a nasty sharp tang that smells quite tinny on me. I'll give it another go in a few weeks but for the time being .... to the bottom of my sample box.

Only for the die-hard lily lover in you. I get nothing else from this, it's not even complex! I was so disappointed. : (

Why oh why did I buy the Sweet Suite?? I thought I would like Yosh scents but all of them smell cheap, synthetic and just plain gross. Stargazer is no different. Stargazer notes: Kenya lily, white ginger. So what if they picked lilys in Kenya, it's still lily and the white ginger makes it pugnent. Another bust for Yosh.

Initially, I get a very pungent spicy ginger note. After it sits on my skin for awhile, it softens and smells like wonderful stargazers. Eventually, the scent reminds me somewhat of Egyptian Musk oil from The Body Shop. Not unpleasant, but a bit unexpected.

I donít really get any ginger from thisÖitís more like lily and eucalyptus as bellydancer pointed out. The lily is very, very sweet; like bubblegum. Itís a nice scent; something I could imagine a lovely bride wearing for her vows. If it werenít so expensive I would say itís perhaps fbw. However, for that price ($130 for 8ml? Címon.) I just can't see myself purchasing this in the near future, or possibly ever. Serge Lutens Un Lys is much, much, much better.

Nearly identical in scent to Temper Chocolates: Temperare 01, minus the warm cocoa note. I've never smelled a stargazer lily. I actually thought this was named for the starfruit because it's definitely sweet, and the drydown is like candy....Aquolina Pink Sugar memories....I can also detect the ginger in this - adds a bit of spice. Nice fragrance by YOSH, but not one of my favorites, so I don't think I'll repurchase another bottle.

This is perhaps the worst Yosh I've found in the regular line. The lilies are creamy with drydown, but they start off too harsh. The ginger ruins this completely for me. Not worth the high price tag IMO.

You know how stargazers have the "light" scent (like LOTV) and the "darker" scent-- very lush
and floral?-- this has that dichotomy. As it dries down, I think it's more like the actual lily. Disturbingly, though, there is something else in here-- like Voleur de Roses has that extra thing? And Tuberose Criminelle has that extra note? That weird menthol/eucalyptus type thing? This has something like that-- I'm assuming it's the ginger lily. This is a close approximation of the way a stargazer lily smells-- some people probably do smell it like this-- but it's not 100%. Nevertheless, it is quite likeable-- very floral and "bombshell".

Not being a huge fan of clean scents, I am surprised at how often I reach for Stargazer. This is a relatively simple fragrance in comparison to other Yosh Han creations, and continues to smell like an expensive soap (as noted by a previous reviewer) throughout the dry-down. The similarilty to other Yosh fragrances is that it tugs at your mind with every sniff: Is it too sharp? too soapy? or the perfect balance? I can't resist the challenge!

I just got a sample from luckyscent.com and am very glad I did. I adore stargazer lilies but this so strong I'm reeling. I think I have an oil sample, so that may be why. Initially, this is gorgeous, but way too sweet for me. If you love very sweet, strong, white flower/stargazer lily scents, this is for you. Strong waft too.

Beautifull, clean and fresh. A wonderfull green floral of straight up Lily and Ginger. Simple not complex, but a competition between lily and ginger. Perfect, unusual, and defintely not a heady floral. Light, clean, and a must have for me.
