This was my first Cargo purchase and actually might have been my first ever Sephora purchase (I've had it a few years now). Love, Love, Love it! They the two beautiful colours that apply like butter and they stay where you put them. The deep green is so pigmented a little bit goes a long way. Sorry to hear it's been discontinued although I'm a long way from hitting pan on these babies.

I hesitated in reviewing this because I hate reading reviews of discontinued products, but I noticed that you can still get these duos from a few online boutiques and at dermstore.com, so I've got to give this a review. I agree with others who have compared the lighter color in this to vex and also agree that the Cargo quality is better. I use this duo in the daytime and it makes such a fresh, subtle smokey eye! The darker color looks green in the pan, but comes out a grey color on me. The quality of these shadows are some of the best that I've ever used. I have hooded, kind of crepey eyes (even when I was in my 20's) and have to be careful because some eyeshadows emphasize the lines in my eyelids. The colors and texture in this duo are perfect and make my eyes look huge and lovely during the day without any ridiculous sparklies or glitter, just a very subtle shimmer. I will definitely get a back-up of this duo before it's gone!

Pros: ZOMG, I will never, ever be able to even LIVE without Kentucky in my life. So pretty. I have honey brown eyes and this is the fastest way to a soft, pretty interesting eye that is always so, so flattering. As always, Cargo shadows are silky smooth and difficult to screw up.

Cons: NONE!

Just be careful with the tins, y'all!

I had such high hopes for Kentucky after reading all the rave reviews here and seeing it in the shops. The green moss colours looks boring and plain on me and the white / pink colour actually makes my eye lids look older than they are. Just not a very good e/s duo for me. I'm giving it an extra lippie cause I think the quality is good and Cargo products are generally underrated on this site.

As others have mentioned this is a duo which has a color very similar to MAC's Vex (greenish putty color with a pink duo-chrome quality to it), and a gorgeous mossy green. The lighter color is much better quality than Vex, better shows the pink duo color and the green color is a mossy olive color, it's not a wet olive, more like a dry olive. I really love the quality of Cargo Shadows, one of the creamiest around, and this is no exception. The color pigmentation is excellent and you only needs a little to get the color, on and they layer and blend well. I highly recommend this duo.

The lighter side IS a like a better version of MAC's "Vex"--a mushroom color (pale greyish khaki-taupe) with a subtle iridescent pink glow. With Vex, it's hard for me to get the interesting pink duochrome to show up, but I don't need any special primers or bases to use with the Cargo shadow. It is its own pretty little self without much fussing over it. In my opinion, the darker side is not like "Fiction", which is more matte and dull. This is an extremely dark olive green with a rich, almost oily-looking sheen that's like a less golden Stila Irma La Douce or a blackened version of Milani's Antique Gold. Sexy in the outer V or crease and not too dramatic if you blend carefully. Together, they make a really sexy smoky eye that's not as harsh as the traditional charcoal-based one. Texture is like butter, it blends like a dream and the pigmentation would make any makeup-phile weep for joy (I mean, I barely, barely touch my brush to the surface and I get enough color to do my entire crease). I personally like the little tins and have had no trouble with mine. The quality of Cargo shadows is excellent (they don't crease, fade or wander) and they are worth the money.

I want more duos like this - an entire neutral, smokey look in a single compact...a duo, no less! It's gorgeous...I am throwing MAC Vex out the window...the texture of this is amazing and it's more intensely iridescent than Vex, but it's the exact same shade. And the neutral dusty grey/olive green is amazingly wearable and works so well w/ the Vex side...great for the office, going out, whatever. Perfection of duo. Oh, and it lasts all friggin day (w/ UDPP of course). MMM/NC35/Oily.

if you love iridescent eye shadows, the lighter color in this duo is worth the purchase price alone. i use it as a highlighter with other colors and it's great...i'd buy a full-sized version of it if it were made.

I've tried Cargo eyeshadow singles, but not the duos (until today). I always look at them when I'm in Sephora and I've used the testers, but again I've never actually plunked down the cash on any of them. I got the Kentucky duo in swap today and I absolutely love it! This duo contains 2 colors (one is a murky cream color with some extremely subtle pink-ish irredescence, and the other color is a mossy green color). I put the lighter color all over my lid and then the mossy green color in the crease and around the outer edge of my lid and it looks really pretty! This is a great everyday color to wear for going to school, work, out with friends, pretty much anything...I can't think of too many places you couldn't wear these colors.

The only downside is the tin. I've never had a problem with Cargo tins, but my Kentucky e/s duo tin is awfully tight. The lid definitely stays on when it's suppose to, but it's a bit hard to remove at times. But maybe that's just me.

The lighter shade in this duo is amazing. A light mossy green that flashes pink! It's absolute perfection, especially since I'm always partial to light iridescent shades. The darker shade is a tad muddy - I would have prefered a clear olive instead of a grey green, but used sparingly in the crease it complements the lighter shade. So glad to own this duo!

I got this in a swap. It is my first foray into Cargo eyeshadows & going on the strengths of this one I want to try them all!
It is a gorgeous pairing of green eyeshadows & wearing these I feel my quest for the perfect green has ended. Very soft & easy to blend eyeshadow which last all day & only crease towards the end.
The tin is a bit small for the $'s but cute & very portable. I would buy this again if finish it.

Cargo is one of my favorite brands in general, and I really like their eye shadows. I wanted to break out from my normal "safe" colors, and got it in my head I needed some greens! The colors in Kentucky are cooler greens, one being greyish lighter green, the other a darker green. (I don't really have any other greens so I can't compare these colors). I find cargo shadows to apply smoothly and can be built up without caking. They wear well for me but I always use UD PP. I have several cargo items and haven't had any problems with the tin packaging.

These eyeshadows are just gorgeous! On one side, a light, pearly beige green with a hint of pink pearl and on the other a deep, shimmery taupey gray-green. I am very fair and cool with blue-gray eyes and really made my eye color seem deeper and truer and was flattering against my PPP skin. I'm originally from Ky. so I just had to have this--and I'm definitely glad I got it!

Like other reviewers have said, this duo reminds me of a smoother and better pigmented version of MAC Greensmoke and Vex. The darker color also reminds me of a less gold version of Stila La Douce, but just as soft and blendable. Cargo duos are small but not as small as Too Faced and I think are worth it. I would repurchase but I already have so many similar e/s shades to the ones in the Kentucky duo. If I didn't already own and love Greensmoke, I would've kept this duo. If you don't have any similar shades, I would recommend this duo!

I'm really in love, as other people have described these e/s look a lot like vex and fiction e/s from MAC, but they are somehow better and look gorgeous together in an elegant way, besides they really make my hazel eyes look greener and sooo sexy

The light green in this is exactly like MAC Vex, but the texture of these shadows are superior to MAC. I love the way these colors make my eyes look so blue.

This is weird. This is not pearl pink but a greyish lighter smoky green with "pink iridenscence". So sephora is not lying only that pearl pink shimmer shows up when you get really close to the mirror and find out that understated pink shimmer! I think this is really unique and it creates a light smoky look cuz the dark side isn't too dark, but just the right depth for a nice smoky look. It stays on well and long, but creased abit... the size is always like that if you are familiar with cargo's e/s. It's an interesting combination, yet beautiful.

When you see these in person, you will have to have them. Pretty duos with lots of shimmer and soft blendable pigmented colors. Kentucky is a greyish/green duo. One side is a light shimmery greyed soft green and the other is a darker greyed green shimmer. They dont have the same khaki green tones as the oregon duo. Much more of a silvered green tone with grey. Very pretty. Retailed for $20 for the duo and comes in a small silver tin. This is really pigmented but i did notice it faded slightly after 9 hours of wear even with a good base and also creased ever so slightly. But it lasted long enough and the colors are gorgeous!

I was so excited to get this, but I took one look at it, put it back in the Sephora box and packed it up for return! My biggest gripe is that this product is tragically tiny -- about the size of a half dollar coin. Honestly, I would have laughed if I hadn't paid $20 for it. And I don't know where the "pearl pink" described on Sephora is, these are just two shades of the same grayish green. I'll be at the post office tomorrow, sending this back!

This is the first Cargo eyeshadow that I tried. I was impressed with the eyeshadow, it's very smooth and highly pigmented. It seems to have very good staying power. The colors are shimmery, but not overly glittery and the 2 colors are a good combination. The green is nice against my brown eyes. The tin it comes in is very cute, but can be difficult to pry open sometimes. Also, the pans of eyeshadow "pop" out of my tin a bit. I'm looking forward to trying other colors!
