I recieve many compliments on the scent. It has that unusual ability to be both fesh and spicy, that I crave but am almost never able to find. The freshness comes from the orange and the sublte smoky, spice comes from the incense. Its a soft lingering scent. It lasts all day, but has tremendous depth without being overpowering or sharp. Its a must try. I adore it. Thank you BPAL.

Another that I desperately wanted to work on me, but that I can only describe as peculiar.

Oh, I love this. The copal incense isn't overpowering and gives just enough smokiness to warm the scent up; the orange isn't too sweet or too tart; the plumeria isn't headachy at all. It is reminiscent of Thierry Mugler Angel, only without the smothering rank patchouli and the overall "hit you over the head and knock you out" scent heaviness. This is the first BPAL that I've gotten an imp of and immediately fallen in love with & ordered a full size.

Patron of the Aztec pantheon, he is the personification of light within darkness, warmth in the cold, and life in, and after, death. He is a creative and destructive God of Fire and Light, and is appeased only by sacrifice, trial, and the slaughter of his people’s enemies. Copal, plumeria and sweet orange and the smoke of South American incense and crushed jungle blooms.
Xiuhtecuhtli smells almost exactly like my beloved Thierry Mugler Angel. Wow. I'm going to add this scent to unscented lotion to use prior to applying Angel. The scent is phenomanl. On me, the copal and orange are the strongest notes, giving it the woodiness and sweetness that I love about Angel. The plumeria and incense swirl beneath the predominant notes to give this a floral and slightly smoky scent. It doesn't have much throw and doesn't last very long (hence the removal of one lippie), but it's an absolutely gorgeous and beautifully blended fragrance. I've tried hundreds of BPALs, and this would definitely make it into my Top 10 based on scent alone. It's sooo pretty. I definitely want a bottle of this stuff! And it's so much cheaper than Angel that I think as soon as I run out of my Angel, I'll replace it with Xiuhtecuhtli. I never thought I'd find anything to replace my beloved Angel, but I think I have. Two snaps up for Xiuhtecuhtli.

This is not your ordinary incence. Just a touch of smoke balances the sweet orange, which is sweet an succulent without screaming citrus. Lovely and exotic.

A sunburst of orange against a backdrop of plumeria settling down to a sparkling, smoky richness and white flowers. This stuff is the bomb! So sofisticated and yet, at the same time, down to Earth so that people will understand and turn heads! I envision myself in a creamy white dress at an art gallery opening or a jazz concert or hell even in a jean jacket. It's very versatile. You don't need to wear much color with this. This perfume is like an iridescent ball with it's melange of colorful scents, and for those of you who are hesitant to try this scent because you heard it smells like Angel, take heart! Nothing like the thick and heady mess! This scent is lush and gives you space to breath, easy.

This is my favorite BPAL oil. To me, it smells like incense and smoky dried orange peels. I don't really get the plumeria from it. I had an imp of this at first and it is the only BPAL I've had to buy in a 10 ml size so that I don't run out!

A fantastic, overlooked scent from BPAL! Xiuhtecuhtli is a wonderfully sweet, tropical orange fragrance, simultaneously creamy and smokey. I've struggled with the "hippie-ishness" of many of BPAL's incenses, but this one mingles in subtly. It reminds me somewhat of an orange version of Monyette Paris.
ETA: This is very similar to Gucci Rush, which others have noted elsewhere.

This reminded me of Nuits d'Hadrien out of the glass vial... light citrus but incensy and a little bit dark. On me, it was very dry, woody, smoky with the faintest hint of citrus. Very smooth and light and versatile. It inspired me to wear Nuits d'Hadrien and renewed my interest in it. But I actually like XIUHTECUHTLI better...
Updated to add that this is the longest-wearing BPAL I have tried! And still utterly beautiful. I want to see more reviews here! BPAL sent me this as an extra,.. I think I will soon be in need of a 10ml...

If only I liked Gucci Rush, I would adore this perfume, which smells like a more long-lasting version of it. The dry down is a bit more earthy, probably due to the copal that is in this perfume, but just as Rush does not smell so great on me, neither does this.

Heavy on the white florals and the orange blossom, this scent unforunately reminds me of a cross between two of my least favorite fragrances in the perfume universe: GAP Dream, and strangely enough, TM Angel (though thankfully sans the patchoulli). Too me this is a sickly, sweet, almost powdery or "clean" type of floral that makes my stomach turn.
I would say though, if you happen to be a fan of (the now discontinued) Dream or (the ridiculously overpriced) Angel or even (the even more ridiculously overpriced) Bond No. 9's Fashion Avenue & Nuits de Noho, I would reccomend checking this out.

This a really light, white, sweet. brings up images of the pale new light at dawn. The sweet note is what tickles me most, it smells like either honey or almond. I can't really pick out the individual floral notes, but they all have a mellow yet glorious aura about them. This is a very subtle & polished scent. I liked it a lot. It smells like something that would be divine in a lotion or body cream. Perfect for someone who wants scent but doesn't necessarily want to smell like perfume.
