Oh, how I love this product! I should mention that I never wear lipstick - the most I'll wear is Jordana lipliner in Natural covered with Chapstick. However, I got this stuff last Christmas and I'm hooked. First, it's a lip balm so it feels amazing on your lips. Also, it's a nice matte color, not too shiny - like a subtle stain. The color (which is beautiful - I can't imagine it being unflattering on anyone) looks frighteningly dark in the pot, but it goes on very sheer. I've heard rumors it's being/has been discontinued, so I'm already on the lookout for another sheer stain that doesn't feel like a lipstick! So sad it's gone away...

Arrgh! It's being discontinued?! But I only just found it!
Lovely, lovely colour on me (v pale, cool toned) if I do say so myself - it's a rich, cool, red-wine stain shade that can be applied thin for a pretty (yet as mentioned, never garish) pink tint to a thick, deep, purplish shade.
However, this is not 'purple' or even 'mauve' at all. Hard-to-describe how a colour can be simultaneously rich yet not dull, vibrant but not bright.
I should really be giving this four as it's terrible at moisturising and you def need a bit of vitamin E gel or LUSH balm underneath, but for the glorious colour, this is HG for me. I think i'll head to the shops tomorrow evening and buy my local branch out - they're reduced from £8-odd to £5.25.
Oh yes - this is also wonderful on cheeks but i'm too nervous to try it very often as I dread to think of the break-out potential.

i love this colored balm! The color is absolutely perfect for my NW15 complexion, and adds color without looking garish. As a lip color, this really stays put offering a nice stain and looks equally awesome as a cheek color.

I use this on my cheeks - very seldom on my lips - to add a bit of "natural glow" to my face. The result is really good and "natural", and I guess this has to do with what color you pick for your skin color. I chose Blackberry, the color looks like dark purple in the tin, but it doesn't look as dark on my light-colored face, rather, it looks wine red and that's what I like. The scent is also very nice and natural. As for the lips, this is not moisturizing at all and even makes the tiny cracked lines in my lips more obvious, which is weird and completely opposite of what a lip balm should do! So, I would recommend this as a face color make-up, don't use it on the lips. But if you really want to, use it on top of some effective lip balm.
*Update:* Now I use it on my lips too. It does not feel as dry as it did before, probably because in Summer it has melted a little bit so it's now glossier, and more importantly, maybe because my lips have recovered a bit from dryness and become less chapped. Still, I use only a slight amount that is enough to tint my lips, and have to use it on top of or under lip balm. The color looks beautiful. I am sad that L'Occitane has discontinued this product!

Price) $31.00 New Zealand from raspberry online store.
Package) Small round metal container with 8ml of product. Loose fitting lid.
Comments) At first a very sweet fruit aroma with a slight chemical note. Dark purple hue in the container. My lip pigment is quite rosey-blackberry is just noticable. My lips feel dry following application, this is strange considering the moisturising qualities ie: Shea Butter etc. However I love the colour (truely immitates the just eaten a berry ice block look).
The Last Word) Repackage into a stick type variety or improve the security of the lid. Not moisturising enough after all it is a balm- Overall i will buy again just for the blackberry hue.

Beautiful color and leaves your lips soft and smooth. I use a brush which is why I did not give it's pkg a great score - I would prefer it in a stick or wand as it has too much color to apply with fingertip.

I LOVE this! It's lasted me nearly two years and there is still some left (although I don't wear it everyday) it is realy subtle and give lips a darker romantic colour which could still be mistaken for not wearing any makeup at all. It has a plesant scent and packaging is nice and country style and must help the product to retain it's quality.

This is my favorite of the tinted balms. To tell you the truth I bought it because once(a long time ago) I bought a wonderful, fabulous perfume from L'Occitane called Blackberry leaves. I loved that stuff!!! Of course they discontinued it. :( Oh,well. Anyway,I went to a L'Occitane store and asked about the Blackberry perfume and they said that at that time the only product they had scented with Blackberries was this gloss so I bought it and I really like it. It looks slightly scary in the tin. Very dark, but when you put it on it looks very natural. I put a little on as a stain and top it with gloss. I also dab some on my cheeks for a healthy flush.

I'm always on the lookout for a natural stain and this is quite nice. I see that people compare it to Clinique's Black Honey and it is a similiar color, but Black Honey looks like you have lipstick on, this does not - especially if you just use a little bit. When I use a small amount, my lips look naturally flushed and pretty, but if I apply too much, I look like I ate a grape popsicle. I almost wish this was a little more red, and less plum, but then it would be called Strawberry ... lol. It neither moisturizes nor dries out my lips. I absolutely love the scent, and the tin, and the stain looks extremely natural when I apply it lightly, so 4 out of 5 lippies from me.

I now have the tinted shea butter lip balm in every color, so I clearly like the stuff. With the exception of Red Currant, which just didn't work for me, the colors are quite wearable, and mostly on the neutral side. Blackberry looks a bit scary in the little metal tub: dark, almost-black purple, but on my lips it's a lovely rich plum color with just a hint of a pink undertone when blended. I have a warm complexion with green eyes, and this really lights up my face. I wear it a lot, since I love to wear purple clothes as well as makeup. The semi-matte finish is just classy looking, I think, and I find the staying power to be a bit longer than lip gloss, but not as good as with a lipstick. Blackberry also keeps its color very well, and doesn't have the problem with fading that Vanilla does. I don't find it as drying as others seem to, but I do think the darker colors (Blackberry and Vanilla) are not as moisturizing as the lighter ones (Peach, Honey, and Wild Rose) because I don't wear as much of them. The lighter colors I can slather on like an actual lip balm; these I apply more carefully to control the color and shape of the lips. I have found that Blackberry looks nice just smeared on with my finger and doesn't seem to bleed easily, but I prefer to wear it with a bit of lipliner, for a more defined shape. I also use this as a cream blush with delightful results: it's longer lasting on the cheeks than on the lips, and when I don't feel like doing more elaborate eye makeup, this even works for a soft plum wash of color on the lids to bring out my green eyes. Aside from the color and multi-use aspect, which I love, I think this product charms me because it has such a nice, light feel on the lips; it's not sticky at all, and I adore the ingredients, or rather the lack of lanolin and castor oil, both of which are common in lip products, and they stink! This has hardly any fragrance at all, which is a good trait in something that sits right beneath my nose. I do think that this would be better in a stick form than in the cute little tin, since it would be more portable and wouldn't require a brush.

I've been looking for a lip balm that gave a reddish-brown/plum color to my lips WITHOUT the gloss or slippery feeling. This came pretty close and overall it is pretty good. It does dry your lips out, color stays long though. I use Rosebud's Salve on top. It seals the deal for me.

This is a lovely color and I wish the formula worked for me, however, I find this way too drying on my lips. It actually made my lips peel from dryness. I will not repurchase this product.

I agree with kecorbett2002 - I've been using my tin as both lip and cheek color for over 2 years, and I really enjoy it. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin and I've never had trouble from this product. Like Black Honey from Clinique, Blackberry is complimentary to many skin colors. Subtle color on lips and just enough tint for a flushed look on cheeks. Not very moisturizing, but it stays put on your face. Very versatile, smells nice, convenient package, lasts forever.

This is a must-have. Smells nice, goes on well and gives the lips a lovely natural tint, especially when you're having a no-make-up kinda day. Blackberry also is very flattering to teeth making them appear whiter. It compliments my pale Irish skin, blue eyes and dark hair. A slick of black mascara finishes the no make-up job!

I love this! I received it as a bonus in a purchase from a lovely Voguette and it is the most stunning colour on me! (PPP with denim blue eyes)I had been hunting for the perfect blackberry coloured lip for months now and I think this is in the lead!
I don't find it particularly moisturising, but the colour is lucious!

I was given 2 of the L'Occitane balms as a gift. They smell divine and the colors are so pretty. However, they aren't as moisturizing as they claim. The waxy texture makes it very hard to get out of the container. I had an idea to melt it & pour into a stick form & it works much better.

I bought this because I have the Honey shade and love it. The Blackberry is just different. It's way less moisturizing than the Honey, wich seems weird because the only difference should be the color, right? This is more of a lip stain than a lip balm, in my opinion. The color lasts a long time, but I have to wear lip balm on top if it because it totally dries out my lips. The color is nice, but I would definitely not buy again since it's pretty much the same as Clinique Black Honey and Black Honey is at least somewhat moisturizing.

I bought it at House of Fraser for £4 after discount. The color lasts quite a long time but this balm does not moisture well. Actually it works like a matte lipstick. Nothing special about it and I am sure I will not purchase it again. I will try Nuxe lipbalm.

I have several of these colors and this one happens to be my favorite. I agree with the previous reviewer that this last a long time and it doesn't carry that rank smell that lip products can carry. It goes on great, moisturizes well and imparts just the right amount of color anywhere you use it. It is also good for layering over or under lipsticks.
