Pros: I use the dark brown version which stays on all day and does not irritate my sensitive eyes nor does it flake. It transfers a bit, but not enough for other people to notice since it is subtle.
Cons: Can be hard to remove depending on which eye makeup remover is used. I was using a homemade one that worked with Covergirl Lash Blast (this flakes horribly) and Smashbox mascara (stung my eyes after four hours and transferred), but it didn't work for Marcelle mascara because it has more staying power. However, having to buy a remover isn't bad compromise for a product that is my HG mascara!

For a gal like me with short, sparse lashes, Marcelle Lash Extreme's promise to "Perfectly lengthens each lash while leaving a rich lustrous finish. Water based fibre free and pH balanced formula. Won't clump or flake" sounded perfect. Purchased as Shoppers Drug Mart on sale for $5.98CDN. While packaging isn't a big deal to me (it's all about the delivery), the long, slim tube is nice enough, but the flat grey colour gives it a bit of a cheaper feel. I thought the brush worked perfectly, allowing for the product to be buildable instead of dumping an excess amount that has to be removed. It lengthens nicely, if not dramatically. Not sure if my lashes have a "lustrous finish", but it doesn't clump and it doesn't flake. And an extra bonus ... no spider legs! So far I would repurchase.

Marcelle's Lash Extreme mascara is a very nicely packaged mascara . The mascara comes in as a thin tube. In terms of performance, the mascara lengthens at a mediocre level. I used to love lengthening mascaras, so I'm not super impressed. I'd recommend this mascara for anyone who has naturally long lashes who just want a thin sweep of mascara ;-)

I meant to buy Marcelle's Ultimate Lash but picked this one up by mistake. It's a nice everyday mascara for someone who doesn't want thicker lashes or a lot of drama. I love the brush, but dislike the skinny tube. I find when I push the wand back down the mascara goops out the top and it's wasteful. I'd buy again in a pinch, but when this tube is done I'll try the Ultimate Lash.

I really enjoyed this mascara. I loved the brush, because it was a bristle one. It gave beautiful length that was not overly dramatic and looked really nice. I'm generally not into lengthening mascars as much as volume ones but i definately enjoyed this one. I like to keep a tube of lengthening mascara and a volume one and this I'm pretty sure I will repurchase. The packaging is nice too, nothing crazy, nice and simple.

I have been using Full n' Soft for quite some time and wanted something that had nice, natural glossiness to it. I heard lots of great things about Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara but thought, "is this really the ONLY glossy mascara out there?" I searched and searched and eventually came upon the reviews here on MUA. I agree with others about the tube being really thin helps keep too much mascara from gunking up the brush. The brush head itself is longer than the full n soft and I had a really easy time applying it to hard to reach parts. My lashes were left with NO clups, beautiful definition and nice, wispy length. Definitely a NATURAL look. If you want drama or any kind of thickening whatsoever you will NOT get it from this. I do miss the thickness my Full n Soft gave me but this is much easier to apply and is not matte. EDIT Mar 4'09: I did a side by side comparison of this with Full n Soft and Full n Soft definitely makes your lashes bigger, but this leaves them more natural looking and not so crispy. EDIT: Mar 29'10 This is still nice and natural looking but...I have since discovered Maybelline Lash Stilleto and that stuff is AWESOME for lengthening. I also find it gives my straight lashes a slight curl.

This product was recommended to me by the salesperson at Shoppers Drug Mart as a replacement for my regular Quo lengthening mascara, which had been discontinued. It was a good recommendation - I love this mascara. It's a very good all-around mascara that lengthens and defines nicely but not overly dramatically, which makes it perfect for daytime. It can be built up with a couple coats if you like but it looks great with just one. The black version is a proper black colour (not grey!) and glossy. The tube is very slim and the brush has a long handle for good control. The tube also de-clumps the brush (so you don't have to wipe it off yourself) and makes a pop when you pull it out. The mascara doesn't flake or smear and I have no problems with it when I'm wearing my contacts. After trying many, many different brands of mascara, I've found my HG in this product.

Pros: + Applies easily... the slim tube seems to wipe excess product away as you draw the wand out, and the classic brush (no weird rubber spikes) means I'm less liable to poke myself in the eyeball. + Feels light and soft on. No crispy or crunchy lashes. + Does a fantastic job of making the lashes look longer. + Does not clump or create those weird little "beads" of mascara that you get from some other products. + Does not smudge (I am very prone to panda eyes so I know from smudging!). + Does not flake. + Buildable formula... if you want to add a little more for evening, you can do so without fear. + Holds a curl well. + Made for sensitive eyes (mine are, and I haven't had any itching or watering with this so far). + Very reasonable price ($10 or so).

Cons: - None for me, because I don't care about thickening effects, but for those who do, you might be disappointed. - I believe this brand is unavailable in the U.S. (it's a Canadian brand), which is unfortunate for those of you who live Stateside. It's a fantastic product!

I absolutely love "Marcelle Hypo-Allergenic Ultimate Lash Mascara." It's not listed as 'waterproof' per say, but I 'cat-napped' with it on for 3 hours & awoke with zero flaking, no pillow/cheek transfer under-eye rings. I bought the 'navy' colour, the wand is excellent quality and the tube itself is long & full of mascara. Great value in the product itself &, I got it on sale for $7.29 (Can.) I tried Cover Exact in search of a good Navy hue but it was more black. I worn the "Marcelle" reviewed here for 14 hours yesterday & it still looked impeccable. This one is a soft navy & I love it!

This does NOTHING for me. I bought the wrong one unfortunatly and wasted my money on this. It BARELY tints my eyelashes, doesn't lengthen at all and Definately does not thicken. Save your money.

A nice, average mascara that can be applied moderately for an clean, rich, everyday or more generously for a dramatic look. Makes my lashes look SUPER dark and glossy. The "black" is a nice, rich black that doesn't turn dull or gray like some other mascaras. I cannot at all feel it on my lashes when on, even if I apply numerous coats. No flakes, no spidery look. It washes off easily and doesn't burn my eyes like many mascaras do. They often have this product on a 2-for-1 special and sometimes as a GWP with their eye makeup removers.

I have asian, almost non-existant eyelashes so I need a mascara where I can apply multiple layers without clumping or flaking. I know that many asian reviewers look for a mascara that provides a dramatic effect (ie. DiorShow, BadLash, etc) but I find that those mascaras get clumpy and heavy if I apply a few layers. Plus, they really weigh down my lashes so that I'm left with clumpy, straight lashes. Marcelle's Lash Extreme, however, allows me to put on many (3 or 4) without looking fake and spidery. Plus, it keeps my curl (however tiny that may be) curled. As much as I would love long, thick lashes, I don't want my eyelashes to look artificial either. So I would rather use a product that might not be as dramatic, but enhances what I do have without looking clumpy, artificial, and spidery.

EDIT: I had to give up on this mascara because it made my eyelashes fall out like crazy. I think it's the kaolin in the ingredients that made my lashes dry. I now use Healthy Lash with Shiseido Masacara Base and I love it!

I like this mascara. It's quite wet when it comes out of the tube which I like unlike Almary Bright Eyes which was kind of dry. Has never once been clumpy. I very much enjoy this product.

"A favourite with sensitive eyes. A water-based formula that's also pH balanced, ophthalmologist tested, and suitable for all, even contact lense wearers..." These words on the box really attracted my attention. I have extremely sensitive eyes and I react to many eye makeup. I am a sucker for lengthening mascaras, and this is what this mascara promise to do. For the sensitive part, it is very gentle, I have no reaction to it. But for the lengthening part, I didn't see any substainal lengthening going on here. The formula is nice and thick, but does not clamp. It will help thicken lashes, but don't expect too much lengthening going on here. My favorite lengthening mascara will still be L'Oreal Lash Out.
