This used to be my favorite skin care product... until it was reformulated about six months ago. I used it twice daily for years -- it left my skin feeling fresh and clean, but never dry, and it smelled like citrus. Then one day I opened a new bottle and discovered that the product had changed completely. Now it leaves a sudsy residue on my face (the opposite of the effect I'm going for!) and the smell doesn't seem as bright as before, either. Unless they revert to the old formula, I will never buy this again.

I was really excited to try this toner, I was looking for a drugstore vitamin c toner to help even out my skin tone and help fade my acne scars and based on the reviews here I gave it a go.
Big mistake..
The first day I applied it right away I noticed the strong smell...other than that it seemed to be ok.
Then on about day 3-4 I noticed a fine film on my skin..which is not supposed to happen, and then by the end of the week I saw breakouts on my face..yea..huge, cystic breakouts! this toner I think it has too much glycerin or something because I could really feel it on my face.
I felt like I had 4 moisturizers on my face, it felt thick and greasy..and very clogged! I saw blackheads in areas where I never see them!
This toner completely clogged my skin.
As for the acne scars, it did slightly fade them away but as soon as I stopped using the toner they appeared again..so..that's also not what it's supposed to do..very temporary solution..doesn't actually help.
Overall, I will def. not repurchase this toner again. Horrible product, clogged me up completely, broke me out. It doesn't even deserve 1 lippie from me.

The biggest thing that bothered me was the smell. Maybe it would be fine by itself, but it mixed with the serum I use after it and just really bothered me. It didn't break me out, but didn't seem to do anything REALLY good either.

I'm 21 years old and I have been playing tennis for almost 10 years. I have been exposed to the sun 5 days a week, 2-3 hours a day. (I wear 100 spf sunscreen) Thankfully I have never had any issues with my skin. I don't have acne (I only get 1 or 2 pimples during that time of the month) and I don't have wrinkles or fine lines or anything like that. I bought this toner because vitamin C helps brighten your skin and I wanted to start taking care of my skin. I didn't see any results on my face, but my mom told me that my skin looks brighter and even toned. She went and bought a bottle for herself. I guess this toner really works and I'm pretty sure that I will continue to buy it.

Overall, I really have no complaints about this product. It helped to get any makeup residue off of my skin after cleansing. It didn't leave a sticky film. My skin felt refreshed, not tight, and because of the vitamin C, I felt like my skin was a little healthier. I noticed my pores were smaller after using this product. I'm not sure if it is due to to the toner or anything else i may have done differently, like exfoliating and using a mask more often. Regardless, I do believe this is a good product that I feel is good for my skin, and does a job well done.

Vitamin C generally brightens the skin and makes it appear more glowy and radiant, so when I found a toner that is vitamin C based, I was so excited. I have used up an entire bottle of this toner and I love it. It has little to no harmful ingredients, which is what drew me towards it. All natural pretty much. I always moisturize afterwards. I feel like this does balance my skin a lot, will definitely repurchase.

I love this toner. I bought the Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist a few months back that is around $40. Whereas I like that, it was only as a spray on toner and I didn't see any revelation of amazing skin worth $40 for toner. I bought this on a whim and I have been very pleased. It smells great and feels hydrating on my skin. I do have normally oily skin but use anti-aging products that can tend to leave it on the dry side, so I do like this. I don't feel any sort of film left behind. It did however remind me what a toner is really for...getting rid of leftover makeup!! I use Cerave hydrating face wash which is great for my skin, but doesn't remove all trace makeup. This helps to whisk the rest away and my skin has benefited from it. The only thing that I don't like (which is not really the product's fault) is that it's so liquidy that it comes rushing out of the bottle and sometimes you either get it all over or end up dumping more out on the cotton ball than you really wanted. In about 3 weeks I'd say mine is about 2 inches used, and that's with using it twice a day.

I have been using this for 3 weeks and have noticed an overall brightening of my skin. Some of my dark marks are fading. I can't wait til it's been 6 weeks to see even more of an improvement. It has even decreased my breakouts!!! :-)
I use this morning and night, no moisturizer, I have oily skin.

First off, I love the smell. It's very light and citrusy. It has all these antioxidants that are supposed to be really good for you if you have wrinkles and things like that. It gets your face super clean after washing it and you can see all the dirt that your cotton pad is picking up. I'm really happy about the ingredients because there's nothing on there that's horrible for your skin since everything is organic. It's a little bit more, yes but it's worth it I think.

Well I gave this toner a try, because I am trying to switch over from all of my "mainstream" facial products to more organic and safe products ( who wants chemicals on their skin?) Now, to be honest....I probably won't be buying this product again but I do plan on finishing the bottle I bought. The smell personally did not both me, I like the citrus "wake up" scent for the morning, which is when I use this toner. It definitely does it's job of cleaning and cleansing your face. After, I wash my face, and pat it try I use my toner, and I see dirt even then on my cotton ball so it definitely cleans. It does come out VERY quickly from the bottle but for me that isn't a reason not to purchase it.But this product didn't exactly WOW me, I may change my mind and buy it agin but for now, I would like to try something else. But overall the product was just good.

I gave this toner a try base on the reviews here on MUA.
It says that the toner is good for all skin types. Mine is more on the oily skin type. using this product, I feel like the toner leaves a shiny film on my face. But it does a great job on cleansing. You'll see that the dirt are wiped out by the cotton. It was pretty expensive for a bottle. Nevertheless, the product is good in cleaning your face and it does not broke me out.
Will I repurchase it? Maybe, yes :)

Just to be clear, this toner is supposed to be good for all types of skin. However, I think that it's for those with oily/t-zone/acne prone skin mainly bec. it does have salicylic acid.
It's is not for sensitive skin and did sting/burn me.
It does smell great though. I would recommend it for someone else... just not me.

I love this toner! It smells like fresh orange zest, and goes on cooling, moisturizing, yet removes all the residue/dirt without stripping off the natural oil. Even in the dry winter indoor heat, my face stays comfortable after application, even before the moisturizer. It feels a bit different from other alcohol-based toners with a little bit of "stickiness" right after application. Once your moisturizer goes on, it starts to do its Vitamin C magic and really evens out your skin tone and keeps it nourished. I found my HG toner!
Do not buy it from Whole Foods or CVS for >$10. Buy it from iHerb.com for $6 and change and get $5 off your 1st purchase + free shipping using code HIH374.

I have dry, sensitive skin and everytime I use this it upsets it. Especially on my neck. It smells nice but I think the orange in it makes it to acidic to use unless you have oily skin.
Will not repurchase. I'm not even sure I'll ever use up the bottle I have. I'm a Thayers girl.

I swear by this stuff! It makes my skin glow, it cleared up my acne, and my skin always feels fresh and clean after using it. I can tell the difference when I don't use it - my face looks dull and dry without it. At first I thought the product felt a little sticky on my face, but now I put some moisturizer on afterward and it's not a problem. It smells great too! I have been using this toner for over a year now and it's the only part of my skin care regimen that stays consistent. Highly recommended!

I tried this because I wanted to get away from toners with alcohol. This didn't cause any negative reactions to my skin, but it's not something I fell in love with. It smells great (like a real orange juice scent, not a chemical orange fragrance), but it felt a bit filmy after I applied. It did nothing to help my oily, acne-prone skin, although, like I said, it didn't make it worse, either. A lot pours from the bottle at once, it took me awhile to remember to make sure the cotton ball covered the whole spout in the lid so it didn't drip all over my fingers. I'll finish the bottle, but won't repurchase.

I really wanted to like this product. First of all, it smells amazing! The citrus smell is just exploding out of the bottle. I am also a huge fan of their Hydrating Lavender Toner, but this toner did not agree with my skin for some reason. I would apply it after cleansing, and it left my face extremely sticky! Also, the way the top of the bottle is made, a lot of it comes out at once I find so I was using more than I needed to. I ended up giving it to my mom and she loves it!

A little on the pricey side, but what do you expect from a product that is sold at Whole Foods, right? (You can buy this for a LITTLE cheaper at Target; but I only found that out after I bought it at Whole Foods.)
I love the smell of the whole line and the toner is no exception. It makes me feel and look clean and I love how it takes off all the junk on my face in conjunction with the cleanser.

I wanted to love this product, but didn't at all. I have combination skin that gets dry very quickly. I thought a balancing toner would be a great solution. Unlike other harsher astringents, the Vitamin C Balancing toner, didn't strip my skin or leave it feeling dry. What it did do was leave a sticky coat of film on my skin. After using the toner, I always felt like I had to wash it off. Made my skin look and feel greasy, which is a difficult feat, since my skin is rarely oily by itself. Do not recommend.
