This is one of my favorite shades. Lovely deep pinkish brown. It is a great YLBB look that works well for day or night. It's matte and thus on the dry side. I usually apply a little lip balm over it after it has set. Extremely long-wearing. I hope NARS never stops making it.

Very interesting! When gazing at it in the tube all signs pointed to no. It looks shimmery and muddy at the same time. As a red/rose lip gal I was biased at this from the beginning.

Also--being a stain, the texture is different from what you'd expect. It goes on rather dry and when applied sparingly and smoothed over lips it is a very sophisticated and muted color. Very classy and lovely layered with a clear gloss!

This lip stain truly looks dark and scary in the tube - but when you apply, it's a warm, sheer brick-ish neutral with just a touch of shimmer. Light formula that blends easily - and I applied the correct amount with the wand applicator, with no blotting or accidents, which is a total first for me. Looks great on its own or with a shimmery gloss - I like Clinique's (now discontinued) Lunar Ice gloss with this one.

I've had two cups of coffee and this one (combined with the gloss, too) isn't moving!! I love it!! Thanks once again to NARS for a fantastic product.

Pampa looks really brown in the tube, and that initially turned me off since I usually avoid brown-ish lip colours like the plague. I would have never tried on Pampa if it weren’t for a SA that I trusted. When its on, Pampa doesn’t look dark brown anymore. My lips are pretty pink pigmented naturally, and Pampa blended really nicely.. made my lips look a touch darker and more pigmented.. a bit “brownish pink” but not dark mud brown at all. It’s great for when you don’t want your lips to be the focus of your makeup, but you don’t actually want a completely nude lip. I bought this in the duo tube with the gloss Stolen Kisses on the other end. Using Stolen Kisses over Pampa adds tons more shine and softens the colour. Like the other NARS lip stain glosses, this will last longer than a regular lip gloss, has a smooth texture, not sticky or goopy, more like a lipstick than a gloss, isn’t overly shiny, and has no strong scent or taste. It didn’t dry out my lips. It is easily applied with the applicator or a lip brush and then blended with a fingertip. They look wonderful with NARS lip glosses layered over them. I love the rubbery packaging as well. Definitely give this a try!!

For my NC15/20 skin tone this lipstick is perfect. Reminds me a lot of my HG lipstick (bobbi brown putty). I like my lipstick to add a little bit of color to my face to help brighten up my fair yellowish complexion, and this fits the bill just perfectly. The color is a perfect balance of pink and brown; not too much pink to make it look fuchsia and not too much brown to make it look muddy. Just the perfect mauve color IMO. Before you apply this make sure you exfoliate your lips because this has a satin like finish to it, but not matte so it’s not too drying. I apply this and let it set for a minute or two and then lightly line my lips with MAC whirl pencil and it adds just enough color to my face without being too dark.

Very pretty deep nude neutral shade! It has a hint of golden shimmer, which gives it a little warmth, but I think both warm & cool people can wear it. Apply just a dot or two to lips & blend well with finger or lipbrush, achieving a sheer veil of color. A lovely understated color to wear year round! (NW 20/25 in summer; NW15 in winter.)

I love love love this color! Very natural looking but pretty too. A muted, pinky brown on me. I'm Nars Deauville base shade.

Hmmmm, i'm not wowed by this gloss but its not bad. I was looking for a YLBB and I think I've definitely found one. On me this is a light, shimmery brown that goes on without shine (its a stain). I like the color it gives but I like to add a little bit of gloss to it with a clear gloss.

A beautiful cinnamon/ rust color with subtle gold sparkles in the tube, it goes on surprisingly subtle (if you blot it on). Definitely a long-wearing YLBB color.

When i picked this up i didnt realize it was a lipstain not a lipgloss as i hoped. i am a huge fan of the lipglosses but hadnt tried the lipstains. First off, Pampa is part of the summer/fall 2004 collection. Its a slightly metallic, slight shimmer brown with a hint of berry. Very pretty, its really a YLLB shade on my skin. Done but not overly done. The consistency is very thin. Its drying but not as bad as some of the other longwearing lip products. However, it also doesnt last as long. Lasts a nice 5 hours through light eating. I wore this alone the first time. Lasted about 5 hours but did make my lips feel dry and wrinkly. THen i tried it with a gloss over it (like the fall sephora 2004 catalog says), and i didnt notice a problem with dryness or wrinkly lips. It actually kept my lipgloss on longer but still about 5 hours through light eating, but my lips chapped slightly later when i reapplied lipstick. No scent either. Its not an HG product but its nice and i love the color. It lasted a while so its better than your average lipstick, just dont expect a real longwearing stain. Color is very natural and neutral, great when you want less impact on the lips but still color to deepen them. I love it and will repurchase but i took off one lippie since its drying!

Pampa is a beautiful cinnamon brown lip stain with (extremely) subtle gold shimmer. Like the other stains it has a liquid thin consistency and dries to a more powdery (yet moist) finish. I love this stain. It gives me a ylbb wonderfully natural look. I am an NW45, so it reminds me of an Angeline Jolie look for darker women. I highly recommend this. Sometimes I line my lips with MAC burgundy or vino and fill them in, then put pampa over it-this intensifies the look.

Appears brown in the tube, but shows up as a neutral pinkish brown stain on the lips. Very pretty for fall. I'm glad I allowed the national MUA to talk me into it. Looks great when layered with Boogie Nights or Dirty Shame. Stain lasts a long time. Consistency is like a watered down lipstick, not a gloss. You may need to blot after you apply it. You don't need much. I apply with the wand, then use a lipbrush to spread the product onto my lips. This keeps it from getting too dark and allows you to spread the product b/f it dries. It dries pretty fast. hth.
