this mascara is not for me, very very cakey! I'm having a hard time to apply it because all the mascara just sticking all over the brush! it's very messy to apply as well, I had high hopes with Shiseido since I love most of their products, I was looking for a mascara with small brush and this is what they have, I love mascara with small brushes coz it's easy for me to apply every single corner of my lashes, I'm very disappointed on my purchase :(

Ahh, old faithful! Cialis for my eyes! Long, thick, black and erect - what's not to love about lashes after Lasting Lift? I know some of you folks don't care for the brush, but in my opinion its slim size make it ideal for those hard-to-reach lashes. BUT you have to curl your lashes with a sturdy metal curler before you apply, NO curling mascara will do this for you, even if some companies claim their new funky looking brush will "grip" your lashes and perform some Criss Angel trick on your morning routine. Well, where is your brush at 3pm when your lashes are sulking? With that said, this mascara will lift your lashes and keep them there all day, and that is what makes it unique. You can find mascaras that make lashes longer and fatter than this (albeit not much), but they won't hold up like this one does.

I have very straight Asian lashes and this is the only mascara I can find that will hold the curl throughout the day. I wipe some of the mascara off and apply with a light hand after curling my lashes with an eyelash curler. It gives a very natural look with very little volume and length but it's great to use in combination with other mascaras. It's waterproof and never smudges making it a little difficult to remove.

I found this mascara to be extremely clumpy and it didn't really hold my curl. I even used a light hand when applying but still got clumps. While I like the small brush (I LOVE small brushes), when you pull the wand out of the tube it is saturated with mascara. I tried to scrape the excess off back into the tube opening, but no luck--the brush was still clumped with mascara. The only way to make it work would be to wipe off the brush with a tissue before every use, but then you end up wasting half of the tube. At $23, it's not worth it.

I bought this mascara because I read elsewhere that this was someone's favorite mascara now that Shiseido discontinued their original mascara base, and I was intrigued. At first it seemed promising. I was skeptical that such a tiny brush could lift my eyelashes, but overall I found that my eyelashes were curled and lengthened. It didn't perform as well in the volumizing department though. My main gripe however is that it clumps easily and it flaked like a mother. Also, my eyelashes felt very dry, almost crunchy or crispy once the mascara dried. I was also turned off by the fragrance in this. For $23, I don't think it's worth keeping so I'll stick to drugstore mascara.

This is the best mascara I've ever tried. I have long thick but straight lashes which sink back down with mascaras, even if I curl it. This is the only one that keeps my lashes lifted even untill I'm getting ready for bed. The only problem is that it can get a bit clumpy, but the lift and staying power make it worth it.

I was somewhat disappointed by this mascara because of the brush, I found it was always covered in product and I had to scape it on the side to be able to use it without making a mess.

I held the curl of my small asian lashes fairly well ( not miraculous either) and did not budge which I liked. I think if you learn how to fiddle with it it can be quite versatile, but it's not a good choice it you just want a good, easy to apply, foolproof mascara.

Amazing. Simply Amazing. Makes my eyelashes look gorgeous. They hold the curl all day! No other mascara has ever made my eyelashes hold a curl all day.

I have had this mascara for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I like it. I adore the elegantly sleek packaging. I also like how small the brush is as I tend to get mascara everywhere with larger brushes (klutz). My lashes are long and fine but I have a lot of lashes (like my hair) and they do not hold a curl (also like my hair). But this mascara manages to hold my curl which is a minor miracle! Like previous reviewers I find I can only put one coat on as more than one coat tends to look spiky/clumpy. I don't mind though because with it holding a curl I don't need more than one coat to make them look gorgeous. The one con about this mascara is that it is hell to take off. It doesn't come off with my normal cleanser (La Roche Posay) or my LRP, Nivea or Simple makeup removers. I have to use an eye makeup remover and even then it is difficult. I am fairly low maintenance so having to take another step in my cleansing routine is kind of annoying. But all things considered I like the benefits of this mascara more than I dislike the drawbacks. It is reasonably priced online considering here a drugstore mascara costs roughly the same price or a few dollars less. I'd repurchase.

I LOVE this mascara! I was a bit iffy when I found out the size of the brush (VERY thin). However, after curling my lashes and coating them with this product, the results were AMAZING! It made my lashes look like fake lashes and it holds up the curls fantastically! Also, the product is waterproof which is perfect for my contacts! It does not flake and barely budges when it comes in contact with water (minor flaking though).

Overall, I recommend! However the only issue for me is the buildability of this product. It dries quickly so you can't just wait and then build off of that or it will look clumpy. Also, this product has bad and good days for me. Sometimes it lengthens my lashes and other times it makes it look super short (and my lashes are long!).

HG mascara. The brush isn't favorable but the formula is fantastic in terms of staying power/smudging. It is great for the lower lashes as it doesn't smudge at all. I only use one coat as it can look really spikey. This is definitely more of a lengthening mascara vs. a volumizing one.

I really have a hard time holding my lash curl after curling my lashes. I have thin lashes on my monolid eyes, which is very unattractive. However, after using this mascara after curling my lashes with Shu Uemura's lash curler, it HELD MY CURL!! I'm super excited about this product, and honestly I love it. I tired Lancome's Hypnose, Clinique's Long Wear, and others, but wow Shiseido. Good job on this one. The only con is that it took pretty long to take off, like most mascaras, but it did come off.

I heard about this mascara about a year ago. I have heavy monolids for reference. The packaging is sleek and thinner compared to regular mascaras. It definitely holds a curl better than most mascaras even waterproof ones, which is a must for heavy lids or hard to curl lashes. The cons, however, make the product not worth it to me. It is very very dry, which I understand it needed to hold or create the curl. This dryness causes it to flake a lot at the end of the day, especially if you tend to rub your eyes like me (may not be a problem for everyone). It also has a fragrance that I personally do not care for. I don't really like fragrances in my cosmetics because it is more unnecessary chemicals, but I know some find it pleasant. Overall, it holds a curl better than most, is quite drying but long wearing, quite expensive, has a strong fragrance and a good product for certain eye types. I may repurchase but it is not HG as I hoped and thought it would be.

I bought this mascara after reading all the great reviews and I have to admit I don't get it. I typically buy Shu Basic Mascara, but it's getting harder to get here in the U.S. so I am looking for a replacement. I have good natural lashes, but want some volume and length and something that will hold a curl. This mascara does all those things BUT there is something about the formula that makes my lashes stick together like crazy and it doesn't seem to dry which makes it nearly impossible to separate them with a lash comb. It is also pretty tough to remove at the end of the day. So my search continues...

I thought I´d give this mascara a try and I´m glad I did as it´s the best I´ve ever used, even better than Lancome´s range of mascaras. Easy to apply and leaves lashes looking curled and plump. I unlike other users have had no problems with removal- I use Yves Rocher express eyemakeup remover and it´s off in one swoop. I´ve bought 3 as I got them really cheap so I thought I might as well take advantage. Would recommend this to everyone, definately my HG for mascaras.

The best mascara i've used in that it does NOT smudge at all even after wearing it all day long. All other mascaras i've tried give me raccoon eyes eventually, so I was so happy to find this one. Other reviewers say they have a hard time removing it, but I've never had any trouble using my target brand (up&up) makeup remover. I hated the brush at first because it's not even like a brush, it's like a nail... but i guess it just takes some time to get used to. i've gotten used to it now and it works just fine. the only reason this is not a 5 is because it does not give my lashes ANY volume. Although it does lengthen quite a bit, so i do like that a lot.

Received this as a sample with my Hydro Powder Eyeshadow from Ebay. I LOVE this. I had never heard of this mascara before so I didn't have high expectations, but I tried this today. I'm so glad I did! It made my lashes look like I was wearing falsies! It actually curled and lengthened my lashes instead of just saying it would just like everyone other mascara I've tried. This gives Diorshow a run for it's money hands down. I will be purchasing the fullsize when I'm done with the sample! Awesome stuff.

I think I'm in love with this mascara. I've been like a train wreck lately with all my sample mascaras (so many, and it just keeps accumulating!), and this is the only one so far that seriously made me stop and notice. There were a lot of "oh, not bad" but this was like "HOLY CRAP OMFG I'M SO GLAD I HAVE YOU" . lol

i forgot where i got the mascara, but this definitely delivers what its set out to do. I have asian naturally straight pointing down lashes, and 99% of mascara out there will just weigh it down. Maybelline Full n Soft WP curled nicely, but it was thin and didn't really do any lengthening or volumizing, merely darkened my lashes and kept the curl. Shiseido's Mascara Base's great with all the other non-curling mascaras, but even then my lashes tend to end up slightly less curled after the mascara.

but this! Hell i love this without using any kind of mascara base at all, because it is AMAZING. i curl my lashes like normal, but when i apply this, it lifted my already curled lashes EVEN MORE so that my eyes really really opened. i have never tried a mascara that further lifts my lashes and keep the curl like that. it wasn't all that clumpy either (compared to some of the others i've tried), and i personally like the thinner/wetter formula due to the lack of clumping. i did notice that it easily transfers onto my lid if i'm not careful when applying though (due to the wet formula), but it also wipes off easily since it doesn't set for a while, so i just use my pinkie and brush it off.

i am personally in love with the kind of hold it got, and not even have to use a mascara base under it! i was so set on having to use shi base for the rest of my life lol.

I noticed a lot of complaints about removal, but i haven't had any real issues with removing it. I use Softymo cleansing oil (which is on par with Shu Uemura's cleansing oil), and follow with Philosophy Purity. no issues yet!

it's not the most dramatic mascara, but i'm personally in love with it. I recommend it to all asians who have major issues with keeping lashes curled nicely. Shiseido's a japanese brand, and in this case in particular, they really stood out for their asian customers.

This is the hg of waterproof mascara and I don't think it is even supposed to be waterproof. Stays on through a workout and the rest of the day. And your eyelashes look like they double in length. I have been buying for many years. It's pricey, like $22 and the worst part was for several years I bought the remover $25 because nothing else worked, but grapeseed oil does the trick.

I've always been disappointed with all the mascaras I've bought. They may look great for the first 5 seconds of application but after that, everything literally goes downhill.
Not with this!! I was not expecting anything from this & only tried it out because I had the sample. It lifted my barely curled lashes. LIFTED. For once! One coat is enough for me & my lashes are volumised, incredibly lengthened & defined. I can even coat my bottom lashes because of the wand, a nice straight wand instead of those annoying bulbous ones that make it a pain to coat any lashes on the inside/outside of my eye.
Will definitely purchase this once my sample runs out!
