Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic is one of the best toners I've used! over the past year I've been on a toner rampage to find the right toner for my skin type that moisturizes, closes pores and doesn't leave my skin with that overwhelming tight dry feeling. After trying Kiehl's ultra facial toner, caudalie grape water, nourish relax lavender toner, I finally settled for this and I love it because it does all of what i mentioned and more, my skin actually glow's with this toner and it feels incredibly soft, nourished while toned at the same time. I have extremely dry skin that is prone to occasional breakouts and i haven't broke out at all while using this! for anyone with irritated, sensitive skin i would definitely urge to try it as it really calm's the irritation down from makeup and outside aggressors with ingredients such as aloe vera, calendula, rose-scented geranium, cucumber and vitamin e. Overall its an excellent toner which I'll definitely repurchase.

I haven't had much luck with Liz Earle products, and this is one of the few I love. The first thing that drew me into this product was the scent, so light and refreshing, it doesn't smell artificial at all. Second was the toner itself, it removed any trace of makeup left on my face after cleansing, and was surprisingly moisturising. In other words, it didn't strip the skin and make it feel tight, instead my face felt smooth, soft and refreshed. As for the brightening aspect, I didn't really notice, but that doesn't really matter to me. Amazing toner! Would definitely repurchase if it shipping from Liz Earle.com wasn't so expensive. Forever Australian, I guess.

I've been using this for over 7 years now. Let me start by saying that in Japan, where I'm from, we use toner for hydrating and moisturizing, unlike here in the US where it is used for 'wiping off' makeup cleanser (am I right??). So, this is my heaven-sent toner that hydrates, lightly moistrurizes and doesn't burn my skin like regular American toners that come with alcohol, to my horror.
This has a very soothing, even therapeutic scent that I enjoy inhaling every time I apply it. At night, I soak a cotton pad with water and this toner, tear it into four thin sheets and put them on my face for 3 minutes (in Japan, we call this "lotion pack" or "cotton pack"). I have been doing this for over 10 years and I have no deep wrinkles and I'm in my mid-forties!
Sorry for derailing, but this is an excellent product and I say it with passion. The only very minor disattisfaction is the twist-open top. I love the concept, but sometimes I have a hard time twisting it when my fingers are wet. I think it should have some ridges for better gripping.

I got this as a sample size and am now looking into getting a full size one because it is such a nice product! I have the spray version, which for me its really handy, just a light spritz before make up and after taking off gives my skin a refreshed, soothed and comfortable feel. I don't know exactly if its toning my skin but it seems to have helped keep my complexion soft and clear, and you can't really ask for more than that. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Beautiful product, the smell is just lovely, it is soothing and refreshing and definitely feels as if it balances my skin after cleansing. I can't decide whether I prefer the spray or the bottle so tend to have one of each on the go. I was never one to bother with a toner until I discovered this gem and now I wouldn't be without.

This feels like it's really looking after my skin, I'll use this if I don't want to use moisturiser at night but still want my skin to feel comfortable. Over the years I've had to change my skin care products due to age, weather, pregnancy etc. this is the only product that's been a constant on the bathroom shelf, I'll never be without it.

This is wonderful stuff!!! A great accompaniment to the rest of the range! I use it as a toner. It has a very refreshing smell and feels lovely when you spray it on your skin after a cleanse. It doesnt make my skin sting which is a first and it doesnt leave it tight after a cleanse either. Id really recommend this and would certainly repurchase anytime! Can also be used just to refresh your skin on a hot sticky humid day!

I have oily acne prone skin that is now acting a bit differently than it used to due to the medications I have been prescribed by my dermatologist.
I now have to add peeling and sensitive to the equation. I cant use my normal toners because they are too harsh and make me peel like crazy, so I looked for a toner that would work without stripping my face and leave it balanced and fresh.
At night I have been using liz earle's 3 step process (hot cloth cleanser, instant boost toner, and light moisturizer) for the past month. I have to say I really like it!
This toner (along with the cleanse and polish) leaves my skin soft and supple and not tight at all.
The bottle is a screw top with a hole at the top, so you just hold the cotton pad over the top and turn it upside down or squirt onto the cotton pad. It smells lovely.
I would recc. putting it in a ziploc when you travel with it though, just in case.

I'm on my 4th bottle and have 2 more on backup. I don't even know here to begin about this toner.
Of course, a toner isn't necessary. But with my insanely oily, immensely sensitive, and bleh-ly acne-prone skin, I need it to calm down and replenish my skin after my thorough cleanse (morning and/or evening). This was the very first non-acne-targeting toner that I purchased and tried. All on a whim. Before this, I've tried two Clinique ones, Khiel's Rare Earth toner, and Proactiv's toner. All of them had some sort of clarifying/purifying (read: "drying") properties... especially with all the alcohol.
This one on the other hand, with a lot of great ingredients (aloe, cucumber, calendula, and chamomile) near the top (and being most concentrated) of the list, clearly calmed and hydrated my skin after I cleansed. It also removed some remaining dirt and dead skin cells that cleansing just didn't budge. I can't say much for its astringent qualities; but I don't have much need for astringency in toners.
Warning for those with sensitive skin, this does contain fragrance, and can be strong to those especially sensitive to fragrance. I personally don't mind and actually enjoy the fresh scent of it (think light floral baby powder).
Packaging-wise, it's... interesting. It's all in a plastic, pale teal bottle. It's a cap that you twist, pushing and opening up the nozzle on the very top. Whether or not that's hygienic enough is up to you. I don't mind, but could definitely do with other dispensing options.
All in all, it's my go-to toner. I'm currently using the Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris on strictly bad breakout days in the morning. But I do find a way to squeeze in the Liz Earle Skin Tonic daily.

I usually don't use toner, I feel like it doesn't really do much. But I tried this toner as part of a set and liked it so much I bought a second full size of it after I used up all of the first bottle. It somehow brightens my skin making it look more radiant and glowy. I've used it after using different cleansers with the same effect, so I think it's the toner that makes a difference. A great product worth trying I'd say. I wet a cotton ball and sweep lightly over my face twice a day, morning and evening after I wash my face.

this is my second bottle and i still love it. i was using another toner and i came back to this one. it is very soothing and the scent is mild and aromatic. it is refrshing, hydrating and gives me a radiance when i use this toner. i just pour some out on my cotton pad and gently sweep onto my skin every morning and evening. i love how this is made with all naturally active ingredients. only thing is...ordering it from liz earle. it takes too long, way too long.

This is the nicest toner I have used to date. It is the perfect combination to the cleanse and polish. really notice a difference when I dont use it. When i ran out of C&P I found this wasnt giving the same results and vice vera. They are great in conjunction with each other.
It provides a light layer of moisure to the skin, Tones it and probably because of the vitamin e content, that it gives skin a fresher/clearer/glowy look.It also very gently removes residue (I only know this because of when i used it with a less effective cleanser during the last 2 weeks but with C&P it really removes everything!) it's a fantastic moisturiser prep too because of the glycerine ratio. This helps your moisuriser penetrate deeper into the skin. Once it dries in after a minute it leaves skin super soft.
I docked a lippie because I dont like the fact that the rose content isnt higher on the list, but thats just me. Personally if you find a good rose water you should just get that. It just so happens alot of them contain alcohol and the organic pure one i love is half the price of this but also for half the amount and because of its bottle it only lasts two weeks. Liz is runner up to rose water.
All be told, this is not an absolute necessity, despite what liz says. I just personally find it improves my skin in general and i like to use a toner. This gentle and effective so if you are considering it , I recomend it if you are in the market for a first or new toner.

I use this together with LE moisturiser, and have to say that it is one of the better toners I've used. I always thought toners were a bit gimmicky, but since using this, I realise that a good toner will complete the cleansing process without stripping the skin, and this does just that. I use it in the AM as a cleanser (I don't wash my face in the AM), and in the evening, this removes any residual makeup that cleansing may have missed. Love the pretty aqua coloured bottle too.

I don't think this product is something absolutely essential to have in your regime but having said that I love putting this toner on, it smells nice, not drying, it feels very refreshing and also takes off any make-up that might have been missed when cleaning your skin.

Best toner I have ever used so far. The smell is gorgeous and I love the fact that it actually moisturizes the skin rather than dry it out. It makes me feel really refreshed after a long day. The spritz bottle is really handy too for whenever I can't be bothered faffing about with cotton pads!

This is one of my favourite toners. I have it in the spritzer bottle and prefer it to the ordinary bottle as it lasts much longer that way, as you use less product and it can be used for a variety of purposes.
Firstly I use it as just a toner, a couple of quick spritzes after I use the Cleanse & Polish feels great. I also use it similarly to Fix + as a finishing spray, it works well for that too. I also love it to spray on my buffing brush before I use my MSFN, it somehow dampens it down slightly, creates a more flawless and less powdery finish.
It's alcohol free so it won't dry out your skin like lots of toners do, and has lots of natural ingredients like organic aloe vera, cucumber rose-scented geranium and vitamin E. A slightly old-lady smell as it is very floral but nothing overpowering. The spritzer bottle is slightly more expensive than the ordinary bottle but I'm just going to use the spritzer I have and decant the ordinary bottles into it, it just lasts so much longer that way!

This work so well with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish.. I never thought I needed a toner but it really finishes off my routine. It adds that extra kick of radiance, soothes the skin and lightly moisturises. In fact with my combination skin I find that I often don't need to use a specific moisturizer after this. It also leaves my skin in good enough nick to be able to go foundation free during the day, result! Thoroughly recommended.
