You Ottaware Purple is a silvery kind of frosty eggplant purple. I agree with most of the viewers that you need to put at least 3 coats to bring the color out. It doesn't even remotely like the bottle color itself. There are lots of multi-color micro glitter showing and it's quite pretty. The purple itself is not too loud. I think it's a warm purple color. I think the problem of this nail polish is it's too frosty. That's why it's hard to bring out the actual color that OPI would intend to. Although I put 3 coats, it doesn't take long to dry. I give it a 4 because I really like this color but I won't repurchase it again as you need to pile lots and lots of coats to bring out the color.

I loved this colour in the bottle, but as other reviewers have said--- it looks NOTHING like that when applied. It took me 4 coats on my toes to look even remotely like the bottle.

It's very runny and streaky! I'm so disappointed.

I HATE this colour! The bottle is very decieving compared to what it looks like on your finger nails. It's more of a frosty silver purple. Takes more than two coats to look decent and just doesn't look right with my ultra fair complexion. Maybe someone with a darker skin tone would compliment the frost in this colour.

I love this color in the bottle but I was surprised at how sheer it is. The two coats I did weren't enough but by the time I realized that I already had my topcoat on. The color itself is very pretty, a foily plum shade, but the fact that it's so sheer is an issue. I don't have the patience to apply 3 or 4 coats every time so I probably won't hang onto it.

In the bottle this is a beautiful deep dark purple. When you put it on it is very light and sheer. It is not anything like I expected. Enable to get the color of the bottle you would have to apply many coats which is more likely to chip on my nails. I will not be using the rest of this polish.

From OPI's Canadian Collection (2004). Light eggplant purple with a silver-y sheen to it. No visible glitter/sparkles. Came out sheer and streaky with 1 coat. Took 3+ coats to get total coverage. But still couldn't get it to match the color in the bottle. On the nails, the purple was much lighter, not quite as deep as in the bottle. Pretty disappointed on that matter. I swapped for it, so price is negligible. Will mostly likely swap away as I don't see myself reaching for it often.

I'm a purple freak and I was disappointed with this one. Its pretty sheer and after 2 coats, it still wasn't opaque enough for me. I'm guessing you'd need 3-4 coats to get the color in the bottle, which I just don't have time for. If you apply several coats, it *is* a very pretty medium purple with a tinge of sparkle. I'm putting this one up for swap since I have so many other purples that I love.

I love this because it isn't an "in your face" kind of purple...subtle but in a different way. It isn't too dark depending on how many coats you put on, I like to put a sheer pink or silvery glitter over this.

As others have mentioned, this is a cool-toned, grape purple shade. I find it truly unique within my collection have received lots of raves from friends whenever I wear it. As for the formula, I've noted that some OPIs are thinner and streakier than others; I had the same application woes with "How to Jamaica a Million" as with this one. It takes at least two coats for decent coverage. However, because of the intensity of the shade, I think that anything more opaque would appear too severe, even goth-like. The sheer formula cuts down on the intensity, so it's worth the extra work.

This is a very cool toned purple that applies sheer and needs 3-4 coats to get full coverage (I needed 4 coats). I am a ppp to lll with neutral undertones and I can usually get away with all but the coolest or warmest. You Ottaware Purple is pushing "the too cool for my liking" colortone. Plus having to apply 4 coats is a bit too much work for me. I will re-visit this review in the winter, when my very minimal tan has faded and see if it works better then. Fee Fi Fo Plum is a tad warmer and seems to be the better choice for me at this point. (I also had streaky application problems, but it may have been an old bottle or my base coat so I am not factoring this problem in.)

This is a deep, cool-toned purple with a delicate iridescence, not garish or teenage. Also, it has blue micro-shimmer. One coat is a little sheer, so it takes a few coats to achieve the color as it appears in the bottle. I love this, and I'm not a purple nail polish kind of girl even though purple is my favorite color in general.

I got this dirt cheap at Ulta. This purple is too cool for my golden brown hands and toes. It's sheer so you need more than one coat for effect. It looks better on me with either a glitter or irridescent top coat.

This is a beautiful, rich dark cool purple. I love purple polish on my fingers and toes and this has got to be one of my favourites. I definately recommend this one.

Gorgeous eggplant / aubergine colour. Rich and not too bright. Very classy. I found it quite opaque with 2 coats.

this is a fun color... perfect match for this season's trendy colors. Slightly sheer, not an overwhelmingly purple color. Nice.

Part of the Fall 2004 Canadian Collection, You Ottaware Purple is an absolutely gorgeous, blue-based royal purple with slight shimmer. I am usually not a purple nail polish fan, but I love how luscious this shade is.

This particular shade's consistency is a bit more sheer (but definitely not watery or streaky) than the other shades in this collection, but nothing a second coat can't solve.
