This mascara is really mediocre and does not justify the price. It was reasonably good at separating lashes, but didn't make them thick and full.

I have long and curly eyelashes..this did nothing to improve them. I would not buy it again. On the plus side, it did not clump or give me spiderlashes.

Well, I think I'm going to finally draw the conclusion that because I'm asian and cursed with short stubby and stubborn lashes, no mascaras in the world will give me those nice glossy curvy and full lashes. That being said, I do have to say that the Bionic mascara is one of the better ones that I've tired so far. It does hold the curl of my lashes, doesn't flake, doesn't smudge, and doesn't make my lashes rigid and spider-web like. It also comes off easily with eye makeup remover which is a huge plus for me too. The wand does clump but I have try to take off as much product before carefully applying. Let's just say that I've gotten compliments upon wearing this mascara (which has never happened before, except for when I was a "Hynose" mascara wearer). It does provide a nice jet black colour which I need to accentuate my eyes. Being asian, I need all the help I can get with making my eyes pop. This one does that! Will repurchase! Also, Smashbox does NOT test on animals. YAY! A HUGE plus! EDIT: The 2nd tube I got was a downer. It smudged and killed my curl. No repurchase :(
Also tried the Bionic MUSE mascara in Black Violet, and let's just say that I'm never purchasing that ever again. It gave me spidery, dry, crusty and stiff lashes.

Fortunately, I got the Smashbox Bionic Mascara as part of a kit - Unfortunately, it's not very good. The tube is square-ish, and the brush itself has a helix like shape that spirals.
It smears, flakes into my eyes and cause stinging, and it doesn't do much of anything (hold a curl, lenghthen or volumize). So all in all, it's kind of a nay for me.

At first I hated this stuff. After a couple practice runs, it's grown on me a bit. To apply this so it looks great on your lashed takes patience. Fortunalely my mascara is where I spend all my time. I find that when you're applying mascara it works best to hold your lashes for a few seconds on the first few swipes. I think eyelash curlers are useless. I always let it dry for a bit before doing a second/third coat. I definitely need my metal eye lash comb though.
My only problems with the Smashbox mascara is that it flakes and smudges easily.
I would repurchase, but nothing will every compare to my L'Oreal Voluminous.
EDIT: I LOVE THIS!! I have become more patient in my mascara application, and this is great. It's a wax base, which makes it really easy to build on. I lost my lash comb a while ago, and haven't bother replacing it because I haven't needed it.
I still build extra volume with my L'Oreal Voluminous though.

I generally like Smashbox products, but the new mascara(atomic blast) was really awful. It applies like regular mascara, even fools you in the beginning to believe your getting big bold lush lashes; but when it dries; it takes on a life of its own. My lashes clumped together and it was a mess trying to force each lash away from each other with a fine tooth metal comb (for lashes). I could not believe what had happened and was so disappointed since I bought it to use for a wedding.

This mascara gives effects similar to those of Lancome Definicils. It is long-wearing, dark, non-clumping, and defining. However, I was looking for more of a dramatic mascara. My lashes were darkened, thickened, and lengthened, and neatly so, but not significantly. Though its formula is drier than that of Definicils, it still goes and stays on well and does not clump. I like it, but would only use it for an au naturale look. It’s not glam enough for me =)

Not a bad product at all, albiet it did take me 3 tugs on the eyelash curler for it to open up my eyes to work it's magic power. The pigment was good and so was the coverage though I wish it had some thickening power. I have the definition and color I want but no real "notice me batting lashes" wish some lush velvet luxury. I would re-purchase but only if I had the money to throw away and even then I would go for the O-Gloss (so pretty girls!)

I DETEST Smashbox mascara!!! I know it's recommended to replace your mascara every 3-4 months, but after being open only about 2 months, the tube was so crusty and dried out that it made little impact on my lashes. The only proof I had of any remaining mascara in the tube was from the racoon circles I would get under my eyes after only a few hours.... of sitting at an office desk!!! Definitely would never repurchase.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one, but I really like this mascara. No clumps, flakes, or smudges, and it thickens and lengthens...will definitely repurchase.
UPDATE: Still love how it looks, but oil from around the eye area has me looking like a racoon in no time. Not repurchasing.

I too got this as a sample, but used it quickly. It IS flaky. The more you build your lash, the flakier it will get. And it didn't create long lashes as many cheapers or similarly priced mascaras do. I won't buy again.

i guess i'm in the minority with this one. i recently dug one of the free sample sizes of this out after forgetting i had it. i probably received it quite a few years ago from a sephora promotion. i have to say that i've forgotten how well this mascara works. combined w/ my shu curler, it gave me long, clump free lashes with no fuss. i have to say that it's much easier to use this old school type mascara brush, which has no problems with excess mascara on the brush, when compared to those new lash blast type brushes. this did more for my lashes than lash blast has ever done. i never do have good luck with the popular mascaras though. maybe my lashes are just weird.

Smashbox has the worst mascara ever. It doesn't do anything but burn a hole in your pocket. Go to the next counter.

This mascara offers thick, really long lashes. Very pretty & glossy! However, it's only got average lasting ability - by the end of the party, I had smudges underneath my eyes.
It goes on really nicely and offers more dramatic lashes than my usual Stilla mascara but I'm not convinced of its lasting power. I might not repurchase.
**UPDATE** Part of the smudgy problem was my undereye moisturizer or concealer. Now, if I am sure that I've removed all of my (oil-based) makeup remover and then dust eyes with powder after concealer application, the smudge factor is greatly reduced. If I get teary eyed, we're back in smudge city, though. :(
V. sad because the lashes are so glossy & pretty. I'd be interested in a more smudge-proof version of this.

Another average mascara that doesn't really do much. It's pretty flakey and clumps a lot, but it lasts a long time. Idk, it's not worth buying, but I got it as a gift lol.

This junk totally falls off your eyelashes and makes you look like death by lunch time. I used to buy cheaper drug store brands and they were ten times better. I wouldn't recommend bothering with this stuff.

This one was a disappointment for me, even though I got a trial size in a kit from Ulta and at least had not bought the full size tube. It smudged and left dark circles within a few hours, and it was not an easy task to get it to be clump-free -- it took a good deal of combing to get out the excess product the brush deposited on my lashes. Not a fit for me.

This mascara is not for makeup novices like me. The bristles on the brush are way to far apart and too much mascara always ends up on the brush.
It doesn't make my lashes crunchy or stick together, but it doesn't do much in the way of curling or lengthening either. Everytime I put it on more mascara ends up on my lids then lashes, so I've taken to putting it on first, cleaning up then doing my eyeshadow. Not the ideal order.

I have tried three different types (focal point, that's a wrap, & the primer) of Smashbox mascara and I was disappointed in them all. I don't recommend any of their mascaras. They don't do a good job of lengthening or thickening.
