I bought 3 of the double lipglosses from Tarte and for some time I was thinking wheter I should use them or gift them. Well one time I could not find any lipglosses, so I used the Jake and Samantha lipgloss. I really like the colors and the feel on my lips. Samantha is a very pale pink, you need two or three coats to see it, but what I do is apply two coats of Samantha and one coat of Jake and I get beautiful lucious lips, not too dark or light. I find the Jake color is too dark on my lips (I have light skin, dark hair, hazel eyes), but I was suprised how well they go togheter when you layer them.
If you have this lipgloss, try layering them, seriously.
All the other Tarte duo lipglosses, seem too dark for me, so although I would rebuy this, it would be only this shade and not others.

Jake & Samantha is described as "a sheer dark raspberry and pale cotton candy pink." The lighter shade, Samantha, doesn't show up very well and is not particularly special. However, this is worth buying for the Jake shade alone. It's the percect shade of raspberry.

I had really high expectations of this gloss. It's not bad stuff, but it's not a HG item either. It's a bit too pricey to justify repurchase, but it will find it's way into my purse for an everyday gloss to keep my lips from feeling dry and provide a bit of color and shine.

PROS: Cute packaging-love that the glosses pop out and can be rearranged. Formula isn't at all sticky. Good shine. I like the brush and ease of application. I like the idea of having 2 gloss options in one tiny, portable package.

CONS: Almost no staying power. I found myself reapplying every 15 minutes in dry weather. Little color pay-off on my rosy lips. Colors look lovely in the tube, but don't really show up very well. Scent is a big over-powering, even though I tend to like foody, dessert scented products.

This came in a holiday set - Garden of Eden, something like that. Overall was disappointed. The light pink color didn't show up and wasn't glossy enough. The dark pink color was okay but neither had any staying power at all. I felt like I had to apply soo much to even get it to show up! Very disappointed. The packaging is super cute and so is the name.... I am a MAC lipglass girl, what can I say?

Awesome! First gloss that my hair did not stick to. Amazing creamy texture did not feel sticky like most glosses. The double ended tube fit well even in my smallest purse. Both colors worked well alone or when mixed together. Just enough color to show up without looking overly done.

I really love this! This is my first Tarte gloss and i received it in swap. The "Jake" side (raspberry pink) is a great MLBB shade. This gloss smells heavenly, feels super moisturizing, and looks awesome. The light pink side (Samantha) barely shows up on my pigmented lips, but the Jake side more than makes up for it. I will repurchase in this shade, and other shades. The Samantha side will be nice for a nude shine.

I have a mini version of this lip gloss from the Trust Fund Baby set and love it. Tarte's glosses are very moisturizing and I love the sheer, wearable colors and the square, double-sided containers. Jake is a medium raspberry pink and Samanatha is a light pink, but not too light that it washes me out. Both colors are very flattering on me (PPP, dark hair), and will be nice for fall and winter. I do have to reapply frequently, but I don't mind as I enjoy the vanilla scent and texture of this gloss. Even these minis seem to last me awhile, but I will repurchase this shade when I run out.

I like the rose pink color and the darker pink and the fact that it's double sided and so portable. I find it works well to first use a lip balm (I like kiss my face) and then fill in lips with a neutral pencil and then use the gloss. It stays on longer that way. However, I don't think I'd buy it again because you could get a Chanel glossimer for almost the same amount of money.

I love these glosses. The light pink is perfect - not too opaque and very beautiful and natural. The darker pink is not bright - just a nice raspberry stain. They smell and taste great. Nice plastic brush applicator feels luxurious on your lips. No shimmer which I love. Both worked for me even though my skin is tan since it's summer. I had thought I would only be able to wear the darker one. Both will be great for winter also. I wore the ligher shade over lipstick and it created another dimension. Beautiful and highly recommended! For reference I have dark hair and a light cool skin tone, brown eyes. I have used a lot of lip gloss and these are probably the best. The Lancome Juicy Tubes I am over- - they are sticky and smell bad. Also some contain abnoxious glitter. The Laura Mercier lip gloss that I have is nice but the shade isn't as wearable as this light pink shade. UPDATE: Removed one lip because it leaks - - the gloss likes to seep out... not good!!!

These are great together a raspberry pink and a barely there pink. L:ots of shine and lasts forever. Perfect with almost anything you put on. The double ended glosses are great! They smelll nice and go on really smooth. Not cakey or drying. My lips feel really moisturized after wearing this all day. A great find and a really great buy!

Got this in the mixed pinks set which my darling boyfriend got me. It's only um ok, a bit disappointing as i was expecting more. Pros: Sheer and moisturizing. Cons: Has a white opaque base and lasts like 5 minutes. The opaque base is bad if you have a flaky lip day because then all the white base adheres to lip flakes and lip flakes look even worse. Lasting power is very poor. Think that even drugstore lipglosses beat this in terms of staying power. On people with darker skin tones (I'm a NC 30) the lighter side can make you look washed out.

I love this gloss! Recently used on photoshoot and gave the shiniest, glossiest perfect nude lip without shimmer. Great packaging, two glosses for the price of one. I got this free but will definately buy when this one is finished :)

lovely colors, sheer but still pink enough to show up on my lips, probably more pigmented than some of the other tarte glosses that i've tried (which have more often than not been too sheer). will be using for spring.

i especially love that now they snap apart/together, so that you can carry around your two favorite halves. that said, they do a pretty good job of picking complimentary colors for the duos, and jake and samantha (which is the lighter side) can be used together well, too.

I really wanted to love this product, and at first I thought it was great. The texture is smooth and felt moisturizing. But the color isn't that pigmented, and it certainly doesn't last very long. And this isn't just because it's a gloss. There are plenty of others out there that last longer (MAC, BB, Clinique, Revlon). While this one seems overpriced, I wouldn't have minded if the product was different and better. In the end, there's nothing special about it except the hype. I like this product, but I don't love it.

I completely agree with the previous poster, in that these are very expensive for what they are. There are far better glosses out there with more pigment and a less liquid texture. YSL lisse glosses are far, far better than this. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on two of these glosses.

crap crap crap! i don't why the reveiws on this are so good this stuff is crap! i cannot believe i paid $19 for this and i hate it! i know its lip gloss but i've used it and used it and it comes off in 5 minutes. this a bad quality lip gloss and was very expensive-the colors looked nice in the tube but weren't really that great at all. i would not reccommend anyone to waste time and money on this lip gloss....is sooo not worth it at all. i read these reveiws thinking it would be great and its not i'm dissappointed at the people who said this was awesome-it's not. so all of you out there reading this i'll say again-nothing great don't waste your time! i was less impressed.......THIS WAS S***!!!!!!!!
anyone who has tried a better lip gloss than this (and one's from dollar stores could be better than this junk.......) tell me about another awesome lip gloss!

The colors of this gloss are Uber cute. What I really love about this product, though, is that it makes your lips feel and look heavenly. The instant I put it on, my lips felt softer and full of color. For the month of October, Sephora is selling inexpensive mini lip gloss sets for only 25. This is one of the lip glosses included in that set. Consider it if you want to try out this gloss.

I love this gloss! I have no problems with it's staying power (c'mon people, it's a gloss, it's not supposed to last 24 hours!) and it's consistency is just fine with me. This is a pretty raspberry and pink combo that just looks good over about any pinky lipstick I own. Would def. buy again!

I lovelovelove Jake and Samantha. Love. Jake is a creamy, pinkish raspberry color. It's just perfect. *sigh* Samantha is a creamy light pink that doesn't wash me out (to my surprise, because I have trouble with most light pinks.) Not one Tarte gloss duo I own has let me down thus far.

Although I love this gloss, I prefer the older tarte colors to this one. This one has a faint vanilla smell that some may prefer, but I like the older, slightly fruity smell. Also, this is less pigmented and less thick. The colors, though, are lovely. As always with these, they look gorgeous and at their best when mixed as intended. Somehow, they manage to find the most beautiful combos! Anyway, I agree with everyone else's assessments of the color. I just wanted to note formula changes, and the name change. NOTE: THIS IS THE LIPGLOSS FORMERLY KNOWN AS CARRIE AND BIG. They changed the name for some reason, when they changed the packaging, I think, but it is the exact same product, according to tarte's website. So, Carrie and Big is no more! But the colors live on, strangely, in Jake and Samantha. Oh well. Just a note so that nobody buys both, or no one thinks that Carrie and Big is discontinued.
