Ugh. Made my thick, coarse hair a tangled mess and did not improve the texture or anything one bit. Didn't like the smell either. Continuing my quest for the perfect hair treatment...

I really wish there was a "maybe" option for the repurchase question. Pros: didn't weigh my hair down, didn't leave it greasy at all and I didn't use a conditioner after shampooing. Cons: my hair looked ok I guess, no better or worse than any other time but it felt really dry and coarse. I'm confused because its so different from other people's experience with this. I'm willing to try it again though and hopefully with come up with better results the next time around. I also tried this as a glosser on dry hair. Again, it didn't weigh it down at all but I'm not sure it really did anything.

UPDATE: I tried it again and it seems the key is in warming up the oil. The first time around the oil had cooled by the time I applied it. This time I warmed a bit of it up in the mircowave and kept it on for 30 mins or so. My hair did not feel dry or coarse after I rinsed it out and blow dried. I'll probaly repurchase as I'm really into natural products these days. This works just as well as a hair conditioner.

Last night my hair was in some serious need of some TLC, scrounging around I stumbled on a stray tube of this stuff. I mixed the tube of this plus maybe 1/4 cup of agave nectar and applied to my just shampooed hair, waited 30 minutes and rinsed. OMG! So soft! I have some of the thickest, coarsest asian hair in the free world and this made it like silk. HG status for sure!!

Just not that impressed with this. It didn't condition more than any other conditioner and kind of left my hair feeling greasy. Not a keeper.

I keep buying this product over and over again!!! I LOVE IT! It really repaired my hair!! This is the only thing that I can use on my dry ends. I heat up a cup of water in the micorwave, then I put the oil tube in it and after 3 minutes I put it on my damp hair and leave it on for about 20 minutes even though it says to only leave it on for 3 minutes. I love this stuff!! My hair is up to my waist, so one tube is more than enough for my long hair. Three tubes come in the package.

I love how this product smells! I don't even know how to describe it. It makes my hair very shiny and doesn't feel greasy at all. I would buy it again.

Hmmm... I'm a bit puzzled by this product. I was looking for a hair treatment to moisturize, condition, de-frizz and de-flyaway my hair. For reference, I have natural, fine, blonde, nearly bust-length hair that naturally has some wave to it. No matter what I've tried in the past, be it product or treatment or otherwise, the only thing that has calmed my frizz and flyaways has been straightening. I'm trying to minimize the heat styling and # of products I put in my hair, so jojoba oil looked reeeaalllll good to me. I picked this up at Ulta and used it according to the directions for the most part- I shampooed my hair first (I don't know why they say use this before shampooing), then applied it after heating it for a minute or so, combed it through, and put a shower cap on which held the heat in really well. I used about half a tube which I believe is reasonable, thought I would have to use more. I decided to really condition it so I left it in for 3.5 hours as opposed to the 3 mins it suggests. I then rinsed it out with warm water as directed, not shampoo it out like I've found a lot of people say they do. I let it air dry. Here are the Pros and Cons:

Pros:

1) The oil rinses out really well, even without shampoo, soap, etc. It doesn't leave an oily residue on my hands or hair. While it was on my hair, it didn't really feel like oil to me (you know, as opposed to say olive oil for example). This makes it really easy to manage and control.
2) All natural!
3) It left my hair FEELING so soft! This part I expected and it certainly delivered.
4) It's a great pre-cursor to straightening as I found out. It helps the straightener glide over the hair nicely!
5) It leaves a basic shine on my hair as I believe a conditioning oil should. But I do say just BASIC.
6) It does not leave my hair greasy AT ALL. Even after I just put it on all over my hair. No oily anything.
7) Inexpensive and easy to find! Yay!!

That, however, covers it. I expected a WHOLE lot more out of this product. I don't think I have unusually difficult hair by any means, and this product just couldn't improve on what other products could easy do just as well.

The Cons all have to do with performance:

1) Even leaving it in for almost 4 hours and just rinsing the oil out, it didn't condition my hair more than my usual conditioner. By itself, it dried the same way it would after just using my normal shampoo/conditioner routine. I was hoping for shiny, healthier hair. A big let down.
2) After seeing the results above, I wet it down again and applied my normal conditioner to see if it would help. The texture of my hair seemed the same as it did without even doing the oil at all. I let it air dry about 70% then blow dried it and it looked exactly the same as usual. Poofed out, flyaways, waves.
3) Although the texture of my hair FELT much softer, it certainly didn't LOOK any better. Produces the same look of shine and softness as just about any other styling routine. Blah.

Bottomline, this was a disappointment. It didn't do what I needed it to do. I did, however, hear someone talk of using it as a styling product- such as applying it just before blowdrying or even on dry hair. I can see it working in those situations and plan on trying some of them out. But again, as a treatment, forget it. It just wasn't enough. I'm thinking of trying olive oil. Now if THAT fails, maybe there's just no hope for me.

I am 25 years old with naturally blonde hair that I dye brown and put some highlights in. it is also course and curly, although about a year ago I did the whole bio ionic straightening thing. As of right now, my hair is brittle, dry, and feels like straw. I'm not sure how this product will pan out... but I put mine on in the shower after shampooing and threw a shower cap over it for about 3-5 min. The product says to just rinse out the oil with warm water but I actually shampooed and conditioned after. After reading the reviews I expected a lot out of this product. once rinsing out the oil, my hair still felt like straw, maybe even more so now. I hope that tomorrow it feels as good as many of the other reviewers. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Will update tomorrow to let you know.

I do not use this as directed. instead I mix 1oz of this in a squeeze bottle (like for colouring hair) w/ 1oz of coconut and/or olive oil; work it into my hair and leave in for several hours before shampooing and conditioning as usual. THE BEST deep conditioner I've ever used, and I may add the cheapest. even my dry, cranky, damage-prone, colour treated hair is soft as silk all the way to the ends when I use this once or twice a week. I've tried using the oils separately from this, and just this alone, but it just doesn't work as good.

Fab find at Sally's. It's refreshing to go into Sally's after you browse through high end stores like Sephora or even Ulta and realize how overpriced things often are and they are often not any better than the cheaper stuff. I found this after my stylist recommended hot oil treatments. I bought an 8 oz. bottle for peanuts. I didn't use as directed, but instead, slathered 1 oz on my past shoulder length hair, braided it and went to bed. I just CO washed my hair in the morning and walla! Soft hair even on the ends. Smells great, works great, cheap. Can't get any better than that! It's a keeper.

I have not cut my hair since December (I have been trying to grow it long!) so I do not heat style it at all and throw it in a pony tail....however it's coarse and kind of curly....dry...just gross....
Well based on MUA reviews I went to Sally's and bought the 4oz bottle of Jojoba oil...went home....followed the directions and my hair looks sooo nice and smooth...I think this better suited to crazy coarse hair like mine....

my HG deep conditioning treatment. I only use it on the bottom half of my hair to avert greasiness. I warm it up and leave it on my hair for as long as possible (if i have time, ill leave it on for as long as 6-7 hours!), then i shampoo and condition normally. This prevents my hair from having any filmy residue. Great product, more hydrating than even the pricier products i've used in the past!

I guess I'm in the minority since I'm not that impressed with this product. I followed the directions the first time and applied it warm to washed, towel dried hair and then rinsed it off. I felt it left a film on my hair and it flunked my test of being able to easily run my fingers through it. My fingers seem to catch in little tangles. I had let my hair dry and used no styling products
I tried it again yesterday by applying it unheated to wet hair. I blow dried my hair this time and it worked better. My hair seemed a bit flatter (but still kinda poufy) but was shiner. But that could be because it was flatter so reflected light better. Still occasional catches when I tried to run my fingers through it.
Today I did not wash my hair just rinsed it real well when I showered and my hair seems softer than yesterday but still poufy.
Next I am going to try applying it to dry hair like some other reviewers have done and see if I like it better that way.
Unless performance changes by using it on dry hair, I won't repurchase. I had to drive 45 minutes just to get this so with gas prices as is now, it's not worth the trip if return is only average or what I'd get from a basic conditioner.

My hair is to my collar bone, undyed, pretty wavy, fairly thick with medium to coarse strands. I rarely use heat appliances on my hair or styling products but do wash it every day or every other day since I hate the feel and smell of dirty hair.

wow this stuff is great. I picked up a sample tube at sally's and tried it as a hot oil treatment and my hair was sooo soft the next day. I also added a few drops to damp hair before blow dryed and it made my hair super silky soft, and a couple drops added to dry hair made my hair very shiny. For being 'oil' this stuff is incredibly light and better than any of the shine/silk drops/treatments I've tried. I'm going back to get the big bottle, there was only one left!

Not quite as good as pure jojoba...this product is a mixture of several ingredients. You can buy 4 oz. of 100% pure jojoba oil (the real deal) for around $8.00 USD.

Ingredients: Water, PPG-12-PEG-65 Lanolin Oil, Propylene Glycol, Jojoba Extract,
Panthenol, Keratin Amino Acids, Polyquartenium-10, Cetrimonium Chloride,
Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Diazolidinyl Urea, Caramel, Fragrance.

I've been putting a few drops in either my shampoo or conditioner, I've got more compliments on my hair lately. Occassionaly I massage a little on my scalp before I go to bed. It's a great cheap, natural fix for my hair. (I dye my hair blonde and blow dry everyday).

I recently took my lightened hair dark (from light auburn to dark chocolate brown), and although I love the color, it really ran my already moisture-challenged hair through the wringer, hydration wise. I already use a leave-in conditioner every day, and avoid hot styling tools, but I felt my hair needed something more. So, off to the MUA boards, where I found Queen Helene's Jojoba Oil highly recommended! I zipped over to ULTA, and picked some up -- 2.99 for 3 tubes -- score!

I applied it warm (ran it under some hot water in the sink) to dry hair, even though the package says to use it on freshly shampooed hair, as I always deep condition dry (it penetrates better :). I popped on a disposable plastic shower cap and went about my business for awhile (like, 30 minutes? Long enough to paint my toenails and clean the kitchen, lol) Then I hopped into the shower, rinsed out the oil, and washed my hair with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner (Pantene). I went to bed with wet hair, and let me tell you when I woke up I was amazed! This stuff if fabulous. Why?

It didn't weigh my hair down
It didn't make my hair greasy
My hair has never been so shiny in all my life
My hair is crazy soft

In short, it took my somewhat better than average hair (I have always considered it one of my best features) and made it into INCREDIBLE hair, in one application (lol, I feel like an infomercial).

Oh, and just for reference, I have long (to the middle of my back), super thick hair, and I used one whole tube out of the three tube pack.

UPDATE: I have started using a small amount everyday on my hair, concentrating on the ends and then working a bit through the rest...no build-up, and no frizz...just shine shine shine! Even my guy friends noticed, lol. HG product for sure :)

This stuff is great. I put it in my dry hair at night, and rinse it out in the morning. My hair has never looked so healthy, and it seems to be adding some really cool copper highlights to my brown hair. What a great bargain! I use probably less than 1/8 ounce with each application, and I've got long, coarse hair.

I will never ever be without this stuff! I've been using it for years! I buy the big bottle from Sally's so I'm sure I will never run out. My hair is very long, color treated and extremely dry. Before finding this product, I had to use globs and globs of conditioner just so I could get a comb throught my hair after a shower. I use the jojoba oil once or twice a week and my hair is MUCH more managable and I use a lot less conditioner. Honestly, I am always in a hurry so I usually don't leave it on for the 20 minutes the bottle recommends. More like 5 minutes! Works out fine for me though.
