I have super thick, brown, slightly wavy hair that tends to get frizzy in the Pennsylvania humidity. I flat iron my hair every day but it usually ends up feeling poofy, weighed down, and just gross by the end I the day. But this product (in combination with the conditioner) is a lifesaver. It is an absolute treat to use. Foams up nicely. The conditioner feels like velvet and leaves my wet hair equally velvety. Blow dry time has been cut in half, an after straightening I have literally never seen my hair this glossy before. I washed my hair about twelve hours ago, and spent the day exploring NYC in 85 degree humid weather and my hair still looks great. On top of that, I really like the smell and I can still smell my hair whenever I move my head haha. Feels/smells like I just left the salon. Will continue to use, especially in the summer.

I only buy this as a treat for myself and that is exactly what it is. It is high priced but you only need to use very little with each shampoo. I am in love and wish I could use on a regular basis. It also comes with a matching conditioner that oy enhances the effect. Give it a try on try on your next splurge!

I used this shampoo for 7 years and I had bleached, over processed hair for 2 years that had become prone to breakage and was just in bad condition. That being said, this truly helped put health back into my hair. I chose this shampoo b/c it didn't have an overwhelming scent, not because I wanted straight hair (my hair was already straight). This is my HG but sadly it was discontinued a year ago. I do not get build up, theres no residue left behind, my hair doesn't feel weighed down in fact just the opposite! It feels soft, smooth and very nourished. My fine, straight hair loves this shampoo. I can't say it makes hair straight since mines is already straight but it does give it health and has just the right amount of silicones. I've never had that greasy feel and the slippage is terrific! The same in the bottle might be a little chemical smelling but it disappears completely when it's dry. It's so good every shampoo I try doesn't come close to this one. Truly HG status for me!

Way too expensive. $28 for the shampoo. It's a great shampoo, does help the color (for a while anyway), but quality not quite matching with the price.

Okay...this stuff is pretty darn amazing! I have used a couple 'green' vegan hair products in the past but found them to be very drying, needless to say I was very hesitant! I dunno why people say this doesn't lather because for me it was crazzzy, tons of suds! I can feel the diffrence immediatly when rinsing, my hair felt more 'velvety' as compared to the usual silicone based 'silky', if that makes sense...? This cleansed my hair quite well, left it the softest I have EVER felt my hair...truely! and no static in sight! I don't know what is or isn't in this product but holy cow it has knocked my product obssessed socks right off!

EDIT : I have been using this for 2 months now and it has dramaticly reduced my hair loss, I have never thought I had a major hair loss problem but I have really noticed a diffrence!

Not at all justified for it's price. It's just an okay product. I mean, it's not really bad or anything, it's just not worth the money. It's sulfate free, so it doesn't lather and it protects color decently well, but it is terrible at getting rid of my product buildup, since I love me my hairspray =) Plus I can't stand the smell. It smells like Vix vapor rub mixed with lemons. It hasn't really damaged my hair at all or had any negative effects, that's why it got a 3. I find Biolage color care to do just as good of a job, and actually makes my hair a bit shinier and just as straight for about half the price. Good thing I only bought a travel size of this product. Will not repurchase.

I found this in a beauty store for $10 luckily! Had I known how expensive this range is I would have gobbled them all up but they went quite quickly.

I find this shampoo to lather incredibly well and it is perfect for the reason I bought it (I do BKT's so no sodium chloride and no sulfates as a bonus). You can tell the shampoo is very concentrated and is really doing a great job at getting your hair clean. Shampoo to me is pretty basic, get rid of the dirt, and then I look for more complexities in a conditioner.

Although many people like the smell, I actually hate the strong aromatherapy and prefer foody smells like Tigi products have.

I also bought the Restorative Hair Treatment for $10 which is probably the most incredible conditioner I have ever used. Check that one out if you haven't!

I find that some Pureology products are a hit and miss. This one did not work so well for me. It was over drying, leaving my hair feeling like straw! Though I always use a conditioner afterward, I can not use a drying shampoo on my color-treated, over-processed hair. I love the smell and it does have nice packaging. Does not last long for the price. No, I will not buy again!

I noticed I had to take long showers in order for this product to work..meaning i had to leave it in my hair for awhile in order to see results after i dried my hair. Overall, this product is good. IT WORKS, but it's not worth the price.

I love the Pureology Hydrate shampoo, so I was super excited to try his shampoo, but I was unhappy with the results. I have a lot of fine wavy hair and it just seemed to add buildup to my hair, not make it strait. I think it might be made for people with thicker hair, but it was too much for mine. If you are looking to try a Pureology Shampoo I would try the Hydrate Shampoo which is amazing.

The only good thing about this expensive shampoo it smells very good. Other than that it left my hair dry with a visible buildup that looks like drandruff.

Meh. I have curly hair and bought this hoping it would help tame the frizzies since it's super humid here. Yes, it is concentrated so very little goes a long way, but it isn't anything to get excited about or to justify spending so much. The L'Oreal Everpure is a good and much less expensive substitute.

I use this and Hydrate when ever one out of stock. In my opinion they work the same and leave hair super silky. I forgot to mention on my other reviews about this that the color protection is great so you can go longer in between colors. I used to have to go in between to "freshen up" but no more because of this amazing product. It will turn any damaged hair into silk. If you have extensions, it is even better. Because if its gentleness and color preserving qualities, it is perfect to maintain the integrity of hair extensions to extend the life of your hair.

I loved the silky feeling when I rinsed my hair. Results were great! I didn't care much for the smell but it totally wears out after you towel dry your hair.yes I would purchase it again.

Another LOVE it for Pureology! It really does help keep fine super fine, thick, long hair straight. I use the conditioner with it and my hair dries in half the time it used to. Especially effective if you blow dry and then use the straightening iron. Would be better if it had a great scent, its kinda bland.

i have relatively straight hair but bought this product hoping that it might help me completely eliminate the straightning iron. i was pretty wrong. i like that there's no sulphites but i practically hate everything else about it. i didn't feel like it cleaned my hair effectively, it didn't really leave it any straighter than it is normally and after frequent use i was left with a coating on my hair that made it difficult to manage. it also didn't make it shiny like it promised.

I have purchased the Pureology Volume poo & conditioner in the past, it was ok but not worth the $$. I decided to try the Super Straight shampoo & conditioner, I have medium length, colored and highlighted, fine hair and I just can't seem to get the shine I desire from any product. All I can say is WOW! I have delightfully straight, shiny hair that smells good! I personally like the scent of these products, very aveda-like. My drying time was reduced and my Chi flatiron did an amazing job after using both of these products. Overall I am thrilled! Oh and p.s. I decided to purchase these from that online auction site and got an amazing deal. My only negative rearding this line is that it made my hair almost "too clean" if you know what I mean. It maybe best to use every other shampoo.
EDIT: Ok after a month of use my hair has a coating. A wierd teflon like coating. My hairdresser told me that unless you have very curly, wavy, course hair that this is probably not the best shampoo for you because of that reason.

I bought this because my hairdresser pushed it on me, it's what they use, so I thought why not.
My hair seems harder to fix after using this. I will go back to the cheaper NEXXUS shampoo I got at Walgreens. This was not worth it and the bottle kept falling out of my hands in the shower.

I really wanted to like this product. I had such high hopes for it! However, after using the shampoo/conditioner duo I have extremely dried out hair. This absolutely did not assist with the straightening process for me in any way. In fact, not only did it not smooth or reduce drying time, it made my hair feel like straw. After using this product and then blow drying and flat ironing, I can no longer achieve the shiny and sleek look that I normally have after this process. I even had a hair cut right before use of this shampoo/conditioner (which usually makes my hair feel unbelievably healthy)! This product didn't allow for that. On top of all that, the smell is awful. I can only think to compare it to dog or cat shampoo. I was visiting my boyfriend at the time of one of my pureology super straight attempts, and I was honestly embarrassed to get too close due to the smell this stuff has. I even had to go out and spend another 30 dollars on an intense deep conditioner to try and undo the damage this stuff caused! Would not buy again, EVER.
