This is not for oily skin! I have the 2nd lightest color, and in an hour, my face looked oily and orange/pink! It highlighted every pore and dry area. Would not repurchase. This is one to definitely try before you buy. very limited color selection.

I'm glad I took a chance on this foundation because I love it so much. It covers my large pores on my nose very well. It can be built up to cover my dark circles under my eyes without using concealer. I have bought this several times now, and I doubt I'll need to look for anything new unless they stop making this. I use the sponge that comes with the product and it blends pretty well. I just dampen the sponge a little bit before using it. I heard it doesn't soak up as much makeup, but who knows. I don't review many things, but I am making an exception for this product because It's great.

This is the foundation you want if you have cool-toned fair skin. I've been buying makeup for 30+ years and this (in Neutrale 1) is the only foundation that perfectly matches my complexion. I'm a total drugstore gal when it comes to every other kind of cosmetic, but the lightest shades available eventually leave me with an yucky orange-ish tinge. (I think this has to do with body chemistry, but don't quote me on it.) It also provides enough coverage to even out my skin tone and makes the large pores on and around my nose vanish. In this case, you really get what you pay for!

I love this stuff! It smooths on like silk, covers well even when applied lightly, and, if I lightly touch my eye area with Iredale pressed powered, I have no problems with my mascara rubbing off or my shadow creasing. I guess it's a bit pricey...it's certainly not drugstore-priced...but I usually manage to find it on sale or on eBay, sometimes for as little as $9.00. It lasts awhile too, and being a cream-to-powder, instead of a liquid, it doesn't get 'funky' if I don't use it up quickly. I think my skin looks best with Iredale mineral makeup but this Borghese is a very close second and it fits well in my purse so it can be applied quickly almost anywhere. The compact mirror isn't the best but I've always got another mirror available so that's not a major concern. This and Iredale mineral/loose powder foundation are the only foundations I own right now...which for me can only mean I've found my 2 HG's.

Well, I finally decided to try this, mostly based on the rave reviews here, and I must say I am underwhelmed. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just say that given the reviews, I feel it underperformed for me.
I bought it online. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I know it was much cheaper than the original price (whew!). I got Natural 2 and it's too light. Not much damage there, since it can be corrected with a bit of bronzer. Coverage is decidedly light (I can't understand how people can say this is full coverage). After applying it with fingers, sponge, and stippling brush, the brush won. It gives the best application. Also, I find it rather drying. Not very kind on my fine lines.
All in all, this did not turn out to be the magical fdt. I was expecting. I won't re purchase because the one I have will last me till kingdom come. I gave it 2 lippies, but I'd go 2.5 if I had the option.

I have used this for over a decade. I have used it with a sponge and foundation brush (prefer the brush) and it always looks very natural. I am NC35 and Neutrale 2 is a good match for me. The only negative is that I wish the pan size was bigger and you cant tell when you get to the end . . . . but it DOES last a long time. If you like a cream foundation in a compact, I highly recommend that you try this. One of the best ever. Better than the Bobbi Brown one, the Shiseido one, Vincent Longo Water Canvas, Maybelline Dream Mousse.

I also tried this based on the previous reviewer's comments and I too was thrilled! I am so glad I bought this product. It looks so natural and gives great coverage. The shade Neutrale 1 is really perfect on me. The little compact is gorgeous as well, it looks like a little black seashell with a red plastic clasp button, with a mirror inside and a shelf for the sponge. I am not sure about the amount of product, I only need to use a small amount and it looks as though it will last a while but I can't really tell from the depth of the compact. I would say for the price this foundation is worth it - I have spent more money on other foundations that have not lived up to the price or hype (I got this on eBay for about $19). I am not sure about how well this product would work on dry skin however, my skin is normal-oily and it gives a perfect finish on its own. Thoroughly recommended!
***One thing I would warn people of though is that if you are going to buy this from Borghese's website, be warned as the swatches are NOTHING like the actual colours. Neutrale 1&2 are the lightest colours in person, but on the website they look the darkest!***
Edit 28/02/2011: I have taken a lippie off because this foundation has started to look really powdery on my face lately. I think its because my skin has been very up and down lately - sometimes its oily, sometimes its dry - and my makeup has all been sitting funny as a result :-(

I just bought this based on the MUA reviews. Girls, you didn't let me down! This foundation is so unique and not like anything I have used before. It has a silky texture and is lightweight and not greasy and it covers well and imparts a glow to the skin. This is my new HG foundation. Too bad it's so expensive for such a little amount, but I'll continue to buy it because it's that good.

Really suprising. Very good coverage that really is quite invisible. I've tried most in this arena, this is the best.

WONDERFUL! Thank you so much people of makeupalley for writing these glowing reviews about this product. This is indeed the best makeup I've ever tried. I used to use Clarins makeup for several years - it looked good but caused serious breakouts.
I've been using Molto Bella for 3 days now and so far it did not clog a pore :) The finish is gorgeous, very glowy but not shiny, covers imperfections very well, feels like feather on the skin.
It is VERY easy to work with , the coverage is easily adjustable. I love the fact that I can take this makeup with me anywhere I go for little touch ups without worrying that it might spill all over my bag.
The only problem I noticed is that it might be just a little bit drying for my skin, so I need to make sure i moisturize my skin properly before apllying this make up.
UPDATE: feel really bad for doing this but I have to reduce the score of this makeup to 3 lippies :( Reason- extremely drying! It is drying to the point when I can easily scrape off the blackheads that dried out on my nose and forehead and are now sticking out. Not a bad thing per se but certainly not something that one should expect from a make up product. I'll need to return to my Clarins True comfort foundation and maybe switch to this one over the summer when my skin is quite oily and sweaty.

this is the one I always come home to ... and every time, I wonder why I ever left. This is hands down the best foundation I have ever used - and lemme tell ya, I have tried 'em all. It makes my skin look almost flawless (it's not) - it's very creamy and easy to work with. Gives just a magnificent finish, not too dry and not shiny or too glowy, just glowy enough - it makes you look like you've had a picture taken and all your flaws have been digitally fixed or something. I have a bit of rosacea and some (horror of horrors) age spots, and this hides 'em all, without being too thick and goopy. I just cannot sing the praises of this foundation enough. Love the pretty compact, too. No weird smells - that I can detect, anyway. Kinda pricey but worth it. Ebay has some good deals on this sometimes. LOVE THIS! A++++++

I have been using this product since I was 16. I am 41 now. Hands down this foundation is the best ever. I am open to other foundation, however every single one I have tried simply does not compare, REMOTELY. You can apply it with a sponge, your fingers or a foundation brush, doesn't matter a fantastic outcome every time. In the winter I wear Neutral 1. In the summer I wear Oro 3, inbetween the tan and the de-tan I wear Oro 2. A long time ago there was an Oro 1 whch used to be my wintertime color. I prefer it to the Neutral 1 but it has been discontinued. I have been wearing this almost every day since I found it as a youth. Even when I had acne as a youth this foundation covered nicely. I did use some concealer then. It did not look cakey. Covering acne is impossible, but taking the color from acne and reducing the noticabilty can be attained with this foundation.

This is a great foundation, I'm glad I decided to try it. Nice, natural finish. Light to Medium coverage in a cute compact. Pricey but worth it.
No breakouts either. Will repurchase.

Wow, I am a little surprised that I tried this...because it's so pricey and you don't get a whole lot. But...I really wanted a powder foundation and I rememberd that my x-sister in law wore this and I always thought her skin looked really good. Though, she has nearly perfect skin, and I do not.
Anyway, I really like it...it's matte and gives a lovely finish. It feels like I have nothing on my skin. I have red acne marks and it covers them pretty well. It's more of a light to medium coverage foundation though, perfect for summer. So far it hasn't broke me out (only been 4 days though, so hopefully it won't).
Only downside...$35!! That is more than I have ever spent on foundation!!

I recently bought this product and admit that it would have made my skin look flawless. However, all of the available colors were too light for my skin tone. The sales associate told me Neutrale-4 was perfect, but, when I wore it outside, I looked like a ghost, very unnatural. Although my skin tone is not deep at all, this product is not meant for people of color. It's too bad really.

I had forgotten how wonderful this product is! Purchased it on a whim to get the free spa gift. The shade is Neutral 1 (their lightest shade) with out pink in it (the pink one goes RED on me). The compact is gorgeous; a small black oval (like a litte jewel case) with a red "ruby" as the opening clasp. Inside is the sponge, a mirror and beneath that, a screen with the makeup beneath it. Pressure on the screen causes the makeup to filter up through it onto your sponge or finger. It smooths on like silk, leaving a beautiful finish and texture. I MUST use a white face powder over it, as the shade is a touch too dark for my super fair skin. Worth every penny as your skin looks flawless, feels like silk and is a dream to put on. Retails for $35. The shades on their website look NOTHING like the actual foundation, so best to go into a dept. store that carries the line (which is not the easiest to find). Lord and Taylor carries it, but I don't know of any other East Coast retailers that do.

My friend turned me on to this foundation. I usually don't spend a lot of money on makeup or buy department store brands but she swore by it and her skin looks great so I decided to buy it. I cannot not say enough good about it, it is awesome. I have OILY skin and this still looks great on me and when I do get oily it helps make me look more dewy rather than slick. It's perfect to even out your skin tone and make you look beautiful without looking made up. I really love it and am starting to fall in love with Borghese products. I hope they never stop making this one!!!

What I have is hydro-minerali creme finish makeup in alabastro. It is the best foundation I have ever tried. It covers beautifully and naturally. Since it has no SPF, I only use it at night. The tiniest amount of shimmer just gives your face a soft, healthy glow. The package is the most elegent as well. The product is actually 1.7 oz, so it will last a long time. Will buy again!
