The cleanser took off all of my make up in one wash. For a I don't know of any cleanser that can "control shin" and I doubt this one can either. I have oily skin but as I have gotten older my skin breaks out less frequently than it did and these days I just want a basic clean face. This cleanser is great for someone who wants a squeeky clean face in the morning or night. It does create a nice clean smooth surface to work with for your night serum/cream or makeup in the morning. As for controling shine don't get your hopes up.

I hate this product!
I used it almost a year ago now and I still remember how bad it was! It dried out my skin completely by removing ALL the oils!
I threw this out right away, definately will not buy this again!

This cleanser is horrible!
I tried this product when I used to have really oily, acne-prone skin thinking that it would help control the oil and shine. It strips off all of the oils from your skin and leaves you with a really unnatractive shine from your skin being too clean. Your skin looks bare and shiny, not a really good sight.

Ugh...I started using this last year when I had no acne at all, looking for shine control. TWENTY minutes later after using this wash and applying concealer, there was a sheen of oil across my face!! It strips your skin and causes it to overproduce. And that's not all, after using this for three months, a huge cyst popped out on my face....and I had never had acne before!!!! I still have a scar and would never ever ever use this product again.

Although it totally cleansed my skin, removed all makeup and foamed really nicely, it always turned my face bright red and the redness lasts all day.. even showing through makeup. Way too harsh of a cleanser for my skin, and I also did not notice any oil control whatsoever.
Returning for refund asap.

It's very minimal at controlling oil, but it does a heck of a job as a cleanser. It definitly removes all makeup and my face feels very clean after I use it. Its very thick so you only need a little. Smells great! Lasts a long time.

did absolutely nothing for 'controlling' oil. skin feels clean right after you wash, but it definitely did nothing for me to keep shine away. it's an alright cleanser, but there's nothing special about it, at all!!! don't waste your money. better off using the plain neutrogena oil free acne wash, which is a couple bucks cheaper.

I beg you, DON'T use biore to fight acne. It's the worst line ever. I used this along with the Ice Cleanser and both made my moderate acne terrible. It got to the point where I couldn't leave the house because it was spreading. If you use anything for acne from the drug stores, go with Clean+Clear. My friend is very faithful to clean+clear and she has perfect skin

I've never used biore products before this cleanser. It seems to be working, but I have combination skin. I think there's not alot you can do if you have a real oil problem. It's either hormones or over active oil glands. It has an amazing lather that I love, and removes makeup nicely without irritation.

Wow wow wow, I can't believe this product exists in real life because it seems as if it's from a wonderful dream where everyone has perfect skin! I recently purchased Dr. Baumann's book "The Skin Type Solution" and found that I am a OSNW (oily, sensitive, non-pigmented, wrinkle[prone]) skin type. It's a wonderful book with many recommended products for specific skin types- this is the way I came to get this product. I have never used Biore products before but I tried this once and wow there was an incredible difference! My pores were really smaller and less noticeable and my skin looked nice and matte/ velvety. I have SUPER- SENSITIVE skin. I'm not joking, almost everything I try bothers my skin or my eyes at the very least. Not only did I use Biore Shine Control foaming cleanser on my eyes, but they don't sting or feel tight at all! Not one little ouch-factor in this cleanser! As far as removing makeup goes, whoah, stand back, this has got the gun to kill makeup and grime off of faces but without making skin dry or irritated. I use one of the hardest foundations to remove (Revlon ColorStay Makeup w/ Softflex SPF 6 combo/oily); listen to what Paula the Cosmetics Cop has to say about it: "In fact, it won't rub (or wash) off even when you want it too! This is one of the most stubborn makeups I have ever tested." Geeze, if the cosmetics cop thinks this is hard to remove, it must be one tough sucker eh? Not with one squirt and two handfulls of lather of Biore Shine Control foaming cleanser! After gently, and I repeat, gently, massaging into my face, the foam was actually turning the color of my foundation! No. Other. Cleanser. Has. Done. This. For. Me. End of story. This is the best cleanser I have used to date and it is wonderfulness in a bottle- it removes even the most stubborn makeup including eye makeup, and it does it gently- great for sensitive skin and all types and I highly highly recommend it. TRY IT!

This product is nothing special. It smells nice, feels nice, washes off easily, but really didn't alter my T-zone in any noticeable way. I've been using this stuff for months, too (trying to get rid of it) and it's never done anything great for me. I won't be getting it again. If you really want to decrease your oiliness, use some mineral makeup that has kaolin clay in the ingredients -- that stuff soaks up oil and keeps me matte like crazy!

I did not like this product..i have VERY oily skin and this does not seem to help it..what it seems to be doing is holding back the oil for about 2-3 hours..and then releasing it ALL on my face..and since i go to school..i spend the rest of the day looking oily..the smell is nice though..but i wont repurchase just for the smell..EDIT: this is an okay cleanser, it doesnt cause, heal or prevent any acne though so its very plain, it doesnt seem to do anything but remove some dirt and oil for me

i really like this product...i usally have oily skin during the day but this really does control it. althought it doesnt fight blemishes that well. i will most likely buy the blemish fighting cleanser by Biore so it can control my blemishes. But i will continue to use another great product by Biore the shine conrtol moisturizer...this is another great product. TRY IT!!

Meh. This product doesn't impress me at all. I think it MAY have helped a bit w/ the shine factor but really nothing truly notable. I hate the smell and ok, I know I sound like a spaz when I say this but somehow I ALWAYS manage to get some of this stuff in my mouth and this is by far the WORST soap I have ever accidently ingested. Even when I CLAMP my lips shut somehow, SOMEHOW I always taste a lil bit on my lips. I'm cheap as all hell so i'm going to finish the bottle but this cleanser is mediocre.

Good stuff! My skin tends to get "used to" products after a while, so I switch between my La Roche Posay Effaclar and this to keep my skin fresh and not overly shiny. This cleanser has THE BEST smell to it! I just love it! Anyway, it does a decent job of keeping your face less shiny, but it's not a miracle product that will make your face totally matte. But it's good, especially for the price and doesn't cause additional breakouts.
