I had the 2011 version. The bottle is is very beautiful like all the other editions, but that's the best part IMHO.
The perfume itself is a solid ''pretty''. Starts with lemon and grape juice and that's all you get for the first hour. Then it becomes more rosey and finally disappears.
If you're looking for a light pretty inoffensive rose in a stunning bottle you should give it a try.
But for the pricetag you can get something more creative and there are lots of cheaper fruity rose perfumes out there.
Just my two cents.

This deserves 5 stars ( although it might turn out with less as I marked the packaging a 4 for being slightly flimsy imo, I dropped it and the lid has never recovered - but any way). This is light, very feminine and just lovely, it's a rose scent but isn't your average rosey smell. I'm not the biggest rose fan but there's something a bit sweeter to this and a bit different. I feel like I could put loads on and never smell overbearing, just fresh and lovely.

Like a lot, this is a great everyday fragrance, for me , not special enough for evening , but a great light floral for daytime, I don't liek this as much as the original Stella which I absolutely love.
The only reason I would not repurchase is because I mostly like to try new fragrances.

I have the 2010 summer edition of this. I like its soft cheerful floral notes with hints of rose. I know that its inoffensive and that I won't give anyone (let alone myself) a headache when I wear this. I get bored with scents relatively easily but even so I may repurchase future editions of this. I do love the bottle.

Very light, soft, rose garden type of perfume. Smells like real rose petals, very pretty and light - perfect perfume for a laid back day at home or maybe for a hot day - especially at the office, as the perfume is not offensive at all. I bought myself a huge bottle - which will probably last me forever. I wouldn't repurchase this , not because I hate it, but cos by the time i finish this huge bottle, stella has already presented us with something prettier and nicer :)

I absolutely love this scent, very light and summery almost like walking through a cottage garden with rose petals and fruitiness scents coming through the most. To me this smells of very expensive handmade rosewater turkish delight - not to be confused with the chocolate covered confection, or indeed the boxed stuff covered in icing sugar claiming to be the real thing. It isn't cloying or heavy, I could bathe in it, in fact after I have sprayed it I feel I could almost drink it it smells so delicious. I don't get any hint of sugar or syrup that you often get with scents aimed at the younger market and I thik this can really be worn by a very wide age range because of the simplicity of the fragrance.
This does last well on me, but it does definately need a boost at the end of the day if you are going on somewhere - a good fragrance for freshening up. It stays true on me from first application through the day.
This is my current favourite daytime scent, worth trying if you like florals, but have been put off by more traditional old lady or heavy rose scents

I got this perfume on sale at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Waterloo, On that was reducing a lot of their merch because they are moving. It was regularly $63 and I got it for only $31.50 for a 100ml bottle. I recognized the name right away and even though I had never smelt it, it looked good to me. I think I have the 2009 bottle, it's kind of pink/peach coloured with flowers. This fragrance is very light, floral smell, it is not too noticeable, and I like it for that. I think it does last a while, I've had it on all day and can still smell it on. I would consider purchasing the original if I ever saw it on sale too, or the peony version which I have been eyeing up for some time.

I gave this 3 stars because its not my kind of fragrance but it is a nice perfume. I reminds me of original stella, but a little fruitier and as its name implies lighter/sheerer and fresher. It is not as "warm" as the original stella so as one reviewer mentioned may be a better bet than stella original for summer.

I didn't think I'd like this perfume, because mostly I'm not into floral scents, but it smells really, really nice. I use it as an everyday perfume, and I get many complimants. It's not a going out-smell though, a little bit too light for that. But over all, it smells summery and fresh. Great!

So far I own every fragrance Stella has created, and I love them all. This one is a little less expensive and lighter for summer time use. My favorite is still Stella, but this one is gorgeous 2!

This review is for the 2009 version of Stella Sheer. To me this smells exactly like the regular version of Stella (which I love) but with weaker staying power. I don't really notice any of the lemon or green apple notes. Before testing this out, I read the NYT's very negative review about this version of Sheer and was surprised to discover that it smells exactly like the original on me. YMMV.

I just recieved this from my boyfriend and as one of my favorite perfumes, Stella Rose Absolute, are way too heavy and bold on a hot summer day, the Sheer version is perfect. However, it doesn't measure up to the great standards of the Rose Absolute, but it's definitely a fresh summer scent.

This is a nice perfume and is light and would be perfect for spring and even summer. I tried it on today and it was ok, but definately not something I would ever buy. It's a lttle too generic and fairly sweet for my taste (major rose on the drydown) I perfer something a little more "offbeat" and original. If I'm in rose sort of mood I'll wear my Nanette Lepore which is far more complex and pleasing to my nose than Stella. If you like a rose scent than try Nanette, it's scrumptous :)

Great scent but not for the younger set. It's got a great musk smell with a lot of heavy floral notes, mostly being rose. But it is an older scent. Not old lady, perfect for 28 - 35; Anyone looking for something more youthful I would recommemend something else.

Women of my age would absolutely love this. Great non-offensive floral scent, smells like sheer rose but not "old ladyish". Will try Narciso Rodriguez after a bottle of this.

If such a thing were possible-- This surpasses Stella.
Because Stella and especially Stella Absolute are heavier rose scents, they're much more formally-oriented and "mature."

In accordance with some people's taste in perfume, this can come off as either sexy or cloyingly heavy, without much room in between.

Don't get me wrong-- I'm a diehard fan of rose perfumes, as I think little else can be as classy, beautiful, and alluring as a rose. I could see no wrong with the original Stella or the Stella Absolute-- Until I tried Stella Sheer.

Stella Sheer takes Stella's depth and-- I don't know how else to explain it-- gives it LAYERS.
While Stella is by nature a deep, mysterious, almost dark rose scent, Stella Sheer takes that depth and sweetens it, expands it.
Stella is, to me, a very one-dimensional sort of scent. A beautiful one, no doubt, but simple. It hardly changes with any amount of wear.
Stella Sheer is broader. The same scent, but so much more is done with it. Whereas Stella can be compared to a deep, dark shade of red, Stella Sheer is every red color in the spectrum-- from white rose to pink to red to black.
The original Stella has the appeal of an older, elegant, mysterious woman. Stella Sheer is that same woman, only younger. Just as refined, just as classy, but brighter. More energetic.
It is lighter, more delicate, more fragile. It is younger, more suitable for everyday wear.
To all fans of the original Stella... At least give this one a chance. I didn't want to believe it, but even perfection can surpass its limits.

Fresh and fruity, this lacks the real rosy kick of the original Stella and the seductive and the spicy punch of Stella Absolute. But it's a good, light rose scent for summertime. I find that I have to use about 3 sprays to get any staying-power at all out of this, and I generally reapply at lunchtime b/c no matter how hard I sniff it's all gone. I like it ok, but it's expensive not to just *love* it. I will finish this bottle but probably not buy any more.

(I have a decant.) I like the original Stella very much, but I think I like Sheer Stella a tiny bit more. It's just so darned pretty.

The original version is definitely a bit sharper, with the rose coming off as slightly metallic sometimes and has a darker, more romantic feel. Sheer Stella is brighter, fruitier, a little girlier. Altogether, it's more sweet than sensual but breezy enough not to be cloying. In sum, a simple, crowd-pleasing, inoffensive but not boring scent--the perfect unfussy EDT for a warm day.

Lasting power is approximately 2-3 hours or so--not quite as good as the original version (4+ hours) but not bad for such a light scent--It is an eau de toilette, after all. I also adore the bottle and am planning on buying a full size when I get the chance.

Althiugh this perfume smells lovely after a while I just started getting tired of it. I find that it fades after a while and I like to be able to smell what I put on. But oh well I guess everybody is different. I won't repurchase this again because I have the roll on perfume.

I have the Stella Sheer EDP (in the deep purple bottle). This is a bit of a frosty take on the original Stella fragrance. It's a fresh, soft floral. It has notes of wet, cool Bulgarian roses and rose absolute warmed with sensual spicy amber. It seems to last a moderate time on my skin about 4-6 hours. It's one I like, but probably won't wear too much. It is a modern scent, that could easily been worn to the office or for everyday. My husband doesn't like it, he said it smelled like something Sasquatch's girlfriend would wear!!
