I use this as a highlighter when I highlight and contour and it's PERFECT. I love it.

I wish this didn't have so many poor reviews.
If you're looking for a PIGMENTED stark shimmery white, look elsewhere. This is a highlight and accent shade. It's sheer so it won't look unnatural. I am really pale and I wanted a fantastic inner corner/tear duct highlighter since I was using my NARS Albatross for that and finding the gold shimmer to be a bit much on my inner corners. I just wanted a nice shimmery white to brighten my eyes, and that is what I got with this. I also like to use this as a cheek highlight. Yes, it WILL fade without a primer, but then again, most shadows do! Stop giving it a low rating just because you expected a drugstore shadow to stay on without a base! Shimmery shades never stay on as well as mattes anyway. I put this on my oily tearducts hours ago (with a primer) and it's still on! BTW this blends beautifully. I'm pleased.

I know a lot of people have said they did not like this eyeshadow, but it's my go to and a favorite of mine that I use for my everyday look. I do think this eyeshadow is not for everyone- I would recommend it more for pale skinned girls like myself. I use this for both highlighting and as an overall eyeshadow for a nice, clean, wide awake and fresh look. It is a bit shimmery, but I like that (it's not as shimmery as my old eyeshadow from CG, "Snow Blossom", which in the end I disliked anyway). It's light, somewhat sheer (but can be layered), and it doesn't flake or crumble on me. I love using it in the corners of my eyes and around my dark circles as it hides them nicely. I did find that when I used this shadow with a primer, it is crease proof. However, when used without one, it will crease. I found this was easily fixed by either A) applying a thin layer over it again, or B) rubbing it smooth with a fingertip for a soft look. Either way, I actually really like this eyeshadow, both as a highlighter and eyeshadow. Recommended for pale/fair skinned girls.

I originally bought Earthly Taupe ages ago. I depotted all my shadows 'cause I hate packaging. I had it in a tin for ages before I realized it's one of the few I use a lot. It has a lot of pigment and lasts all day over eyeshadow primer. I was wanting other colors to wear and went back to Maybelline. I picked this up for an under the brow & in the corners shadow. It works perfect for that! I like how it looks and it seems to wear well (doesn't get cakey). Why there are negative reviews on this, I don't know. I do have to say I have the new ones (my number on it is 10S vanilla) and they're in the black packaging not the blue. So I'm not sure if that changes the formula or not.

Not really sure why there's so many bad reviews on this... Maybe it's because it's listed as an eyeshadow. I bought this to use as a cheap version of a highlighter, just to try it out and it worked great. I haven't used it in the inner corners of my eyes like everyone else, but I do use it on my brow bone, on my dark circles under my eyes, and I put a little bit over my cheekbones and sides of my nose. It lasts as long as I wear my makeup, just don't use it as an eyeshadow and you'll be fine.

I was looking for a good tear duct shadow and this is what i came across at the drugstore cause i didnt wanna spend anymore of my money this month on mac products since i pretty much bought the entire to the beach collection and pre-ordered a digipops dazzle glass. So i took this home and put it on and it was exactly what i was looking for. Unfortunately the staying power is not all too great but for a drugstore product it's got a nice fine shimmer. I most likely wont buy it again cause i won't be able to go through this quickly cause lets be honest.. how fast can you go through a pan of eyeshadow using it only for your tear duct? yeah...

Next time I'm sticking to crystal avalanche by MAC, but this is a cute color. Definately for in the tear duct, which is a place I always put shimmery white shadow. It just doesn't have lasting power and color payoff like mac, but it is buildable. A great alternative to expensive shimmery whites. Cheap enough to be worth-while in a crunch.

This is a very basic, shimmery white eye shadow. I only ever use it as a browbone highlighter and for the inner corners of my eyes. The lasting power isn't too great, but it's decent enough.

I use white shadow after primer as a base for my other shadows. i bought this one b/c its a pretty pure white. It does do an ok job IF you apply an eye primer before you put it on, otherwise it will be gone in an hour. With a primer, it doesnt cake and lasts all day.

I got this shadow because i wanted a highlight...WHY did think just because Mac has a shade called "vanilla" this would be nice?
HA, i didnt wear this for a loooong time not even as a highlight..but found a youtube vid and the girl used a white shadow on the inner corners and the rest was a nice purple smoked out look. I have found use for it!!!!! alone...its NASTY

I took off one lippy because it's a bit crumbly when you apply it but other than that it's a great brow bone highlighter, great for a frosty winter look with some black liquid liner.
A trick to this shadow is to apply it wet, it makes the color much more intense.

Wow, i'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I love this eyeshadow! It was just what I wanted, a basic whitish color shadow with some shimmer. I'm very pale, and I see the white pretty clearly when I apply it.
I sometimes use it in conjunction with my blush (i'm not sure if its good or bad, but i've had no reaction to it) and it turns out very pretty.
I would recommend, and I would definitely repurchase.

This white was very sheer, and had to layer a lot to actually see that I was wearing a white shadow and not just shimmer. The product was kind of dried out when I bought it and very hard to lift off the pan. No thanks.

This shimmery white is not a stark white so it is much more subtle. I like to lightly dust it under my eyes to make my eyes look perked up. I’m not crazy about the formula, the powder is a bit heavy and does not layer at all, so I will not buy again.

WELL. This eyeshadow crumbles on me. Oh yeah, and there's hardly any white colour, just shimmer. Figures.

Not good. You can't even tell you're wearing it (and not in a "good" way). It looks like nothing...goes on clear with some sparkles. Weird.

I bought this shadow while looking for a nice white color to try. It isn't all that good (imo). Its really sheer, so you have to apply it quite a few times and by the time I actually get it to show up pretty good, than I have white specs all over my face and clothes because the powder doesn't want to stay on the brush applicator. It fades away pretty fast too. I don't think I will repurchase this.

I had to layer the product to get color. I expected it to show up on me easily because I'm very pale. Not the case. It was one of the better ones from maybelline that I have tried, however
