Besides potassium alums, this was the first non-antipersperant deodorant I tried. It was a fail: didn't last long and stung after shaving (active ingredient is alcohol). Scent was just okay, and I like citrus scents in general.

This concern probably doesn't apply to many, but I also felt like I was accidentally inhaling it when I sprayed it on. Note that it contains irritants: d-limonene, linalool, geraniol, citral, farnesol. I think most of those are just natural components of the lemon peel oil, but I really don't want them getting in my airways since I'm asthmatic.

Hope that helps someone. I'm going back to crystal (potassium alum) for now.

The scent of this is invigorating, just like spraying a spritz of gin and tonic at my arm pits! Sadly it does nothing to keep even the faintest odour at bay, Pit Rok is far better, I always remain fresh smelling with that.
I should think that the alcohol content might be irratating after a while of using it as well. Such a shame. Back to Pit Rock.

Don't you just hate it when you start out really liking a product, only to have it stop working altogether. It's such a random thing & so unexpected. I used this deodorant for over a year & then it just stopped working. I hadn't changed anything so it didn't appear my chemistry was altered in any way. I just felt it was no longer doing it's just job so I had to stop buying it.

Smells very nice but this is it. It brought me an allergy and it is very expensive.

Doesn't do anything to fight bad smell. It gave me a burning feeling underarms, too.

Doesn't hold up on it's own but it's a nice back up for the Alvera unscented roll-on ( the only natural deodorant I found that works on wetness and odor). Initially it does smell like lemons and alcohol, but the alcohol smell faded and then it smells very faintly of lemons. I wish the scent was stronger & lasted a little longer. I do go through quite a bit of this since it takes 4-5 sprays to cover an underarm the way it comes out, and the large bottle is only 3.4 ounces. It's expensive at Whole Foods (around $12), but you can get it from vitacost.com, swansonvitamins.com or iherb.com for around $6. I will probably continue to buy it since I love the lemon scent.

I'm quite happy with this deodorant - it's a great fresh scent which refreshes and nicely covers up a day's worth of running around if I am going out after work. (I normally use an organic roll-on deodorant during the day). It won't last as a strong scent or anything, but it does give me confidence to know the smell of sweat is being covered. The smell is quite elegant too - not cheap and tacky and it's natural so i know I'm not dowsing myself in triclosan. So while it costs 10 times more than a bottle of Impulse, it's worth it!

My friend told me about this d/o and I picked it up at this natural food market. First, I went to Target, but they were all out. Any way, the scent is pleasant. In the beginning, when I sprayed it on, I could smell the scent. The scent doesn't last throughout the day which is fine. While I was working out, the only thing I noticed was a stream of sweat falling down my arm, so not cute, but during my vigorous spin class the d/o held up. Since I take two showers throughout the day, I haven't had any problems with odor. So far no complaints and of course if I’m happy with the product, I will purchase it again.

Doesn't keep away the smell even if I use it with my crystal deo. So I think I won't buy it again. It might help if you reapply it more than once a day. I have to say that as I'm breast feeding, it seems that I'm sweating more than I used to, so maybe in the "normal conditions" it will work.
The smell is nice though.

worst-deo-ever!

I had tried the spray-deo with rosemary from the same brand, and I had never problem with irritations (well with the freshly-shaved armpit I had an instant pain but nothing notable).

But when I used this I made rashes all over my armpits, and the pain didn't stop for a whole day!

It has a very refreshing citric aroma but I need something stronger during the day or after a couple of hours I start smelling.. :(
Great option to use it before going to bed.

Love this. It does sting a little at times and it's no anti-perspirant, but that's expected. Meanwhile, it's natural, it keeps bad smells at bay and I absolutely love its scent.
The only bad thing I can think about is the packaging - a glass pump bottle. It seems a little fragile, I'd be wary of taking this on a trip...but then again, I suppose it's easily recycled.

I also use the sage one at time...it's good too, I just don't love the smell as much.

My HG of natural deoderant products. I have defintely trie dto go green with deoderants and using organic lines that dont have the common market aluminum and bad ingredients that clog your pores under your arms when you are naturally supposed to sweat. Sadly after trying many deoderants from Toms of Maine, etc etc they all smell deicious and amazing and go on clear and never leave residue on clothes but THEY DONT WORK for me. THe great smell last a few hours then tahts it and by the end of the day and when I am going to sleep my under arms smell horrible somehow due to the natural deoderants mnot working with my body chemistry. Weird sicne I actualyl enver sweat anymore after switching to natural deoderants yet now they make me smell. SO sadly my going green hasnt worked and Ive had to go back to aluminum deoderants sicne quite hoenstly I dont have time to reapply my deodernt 5 times a day. THis spray however is one of the ebst things I ran across when trying all teh natural lines. It smells amazing and fresh and truly leaves me smelling good and feeling so clean after a shower . Sadly also doesnt last through the entire day even if used over crystal rock. I am definitely sad that the natural deoderants dont work for me but I definitely love and use this spray on casual days and home doin chores or running errands since the smell is jsut great and energizing.

Try it! :)

I'm not sure this really works.... I applied it in the morning (a good amout), and I smelled a little bit of body odor by 5 o'clock (I was trying hard to detect it though). I am, however, paranoid about body odor, so the thought of not smelling pleasant really bothers me. I don't want to have to reapply a deodorant half way throughout the day; too much work. Trying to find a good natural deodorant, and I don't think this is it. I wouldn't consider myself a smelly or sweaty person. Also, this is a little pricey and goes fast. Smell is nice.

This is my favorite deodorant. It really helps keep nasty smells down and has no dangerous ingredients. I love the citrus smell, it makes me happy, aromatherapy at work I guess. I have been buying this for years and it is still my favorite.

I really love this deodorant. Yes I bought this one because it does not contain any paraben or aluminium. True, it doesn't stop sweating but that's normal for a deodorant.
I use it once a day, and at the evening I just smell nothing ... everything is neutral and that's the reason why I like this product so much.
I have to admit, this deodorant is not cheap but it's worth it in my opinion.
Oh and, citrus is very effective if you want to keep mosquito's away in summer ;)

OVERALL: This is a great product for going chemical-free with deodorant AND if you aren’t self-conscious about sweating. For most people with a standard workday in an office setting, I think the product works fine. Obviously, the sweat thing depends on your personal chemistry; I’m assuming I’m pretty normal. I use the spray as my everyday product, but keep my regular anti-perspirant for occasions when I want to stay absolutely dry.
.
GOOD THINGS: It delivered what it promised—odor free underarms—and smells delicious (my better half asked if it came as aperfume!): fresh-squeezed lemon citrus –very green and clean. Luckily, if you hate the smell, it will fade as it dries. Tested it during a hot and sweaty yoga class and I sweated, but didn’t smell. Day to day use has been fine—no funk. Also won’t leave any gross white residue on clothing and I assume is less likely to affect colordye. Packaging is beautiful and chic and I kind of like the idea of a daily-use product converted into a luxury commodity.
.
NOT-SO-GOOD THINGS: Yes, you do have to reapply throughout the day—Weleda suggests this, and the frequency again depends on your chemistry. Not cool considering the price ($11 for deodorant?) and it’s packaged in glass—not so great for toting places. Top unscrews so you can decant into a smaller aerosol to tote around, but some would find that annoying. Also, cannot—do not—use right after shaving—ouch!
.
WHY I DECIDED TO SWITCH TO AN ECO-GREEN DEODORANT: Almost all regular deodorants & anti-perspirants contain parabens (methyl-, propyl-, butyl-, ethyl-). There is a link between parabens and breast cancer. While I think that genetics continues to play the most defining role for breast cancer, parabens are absorbed into the skin (close to the breast and lymphatic system) and can alter hormone levels which in turn can increase the risk of developing breast cancer. There have been people in my family who have had cancer, so I decided to try to reduce my risk by changing environmental factors as best I could. This was one change.
.
ECO-DEODORANT & SWEATING: So the ingredient in anti-perspirants that stops sweating is aluminum, which has been linked (small links) to Alzheimer’s. That, in addition to the fact that not sweating is preventing the body from natural expulsion of toxins from the body is why you’d be hard-pressed to find ANY eco-deodorant that is also an anti-perspirant. Your choice as to how you feel about this sort of thing (mine was caution—I didn’t want to absorb aluminum every day), but DO NOT expect that this deodorant or most other “green” types will prevent you from sweating. That is not what they are designed to do.

Okay, the word deodorant means just that it keeps odors at bay. This is not an antiperspirant so it won't keep you dry. Out of all the "natural" deodorants I've tried this one works the best and keeps me smelling fresh. I been using this for a year. Once you apply there isn't really a lingering lemony scent.

I love the smell of this product. It's a little more expensive than your average deodorant but it's supposed to be all natural. I've tried just about every deodorant in my health store and so far, this is the only one where I don't smell myself after sweating.

This citrus deodorant smells great...but you need to reapply frequently as it will not keep you dry. I recently bought Thai Crystal Deodorant Mist at Whole Foods and found this works very well to keep you dry. I refuse to use anti-perspirants and this very inexpensive Thai Crystal Mist is the best I've used since my days of using Mitchum's! It is unscented.
