I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! This and Bordello are my fav scents from BPAL. I will be buying a back up bottle of this, thats for sure.
This smells like warm butter pumpkin seeds freshly out of the oven (in the bottle) and on my skin its still a lovely warm pumpkin but the buttery part dies down a little.
This doesn't last all day like the other perfumes but thats actually good for me because lots of them give me headaches because their so strong. Fantastic fall scent!

Two notes: butter and peach. I'd read elsewhere that the pumpkin note used by the lab turns into butter for some of us, so that clears that up. But...why add peach to what is apparently meant to be a pumpkin/autumn/reminiscent of jack 'o lanterns type scent?

This is definitely foodie, but not very autumnal, to my nose. More like a peach baked in a buttery sauce.

I wish there was a true pumpkin scent in the catalogue.

Wow I can't believe the low ratings for this scent!
It smells just like the description:
"The scent of warm, glowing jack o'lanterns on a warm autumn night: true Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove."
Foody, yes, but so very comforting. I love Halloween, and this scent just makes me feel like I'm walking around on hallow's eve enjoying the autumn air.
On me it's sweet and spicy, and I love the subtleness of it.
Pumpkin is an aphrodisiac - when my husband smelled this on me his eyes just lit up - saying "mmmmmm".
Definitely not an everyday scent, but will wear it when I need some good vibes.

In Vial: Smells like pumkin butter cookies

Wet: Whoa! this is really foody. Still buttery and pumkin but with a hint nutmeg.

Later. Hasn't changed much but now I can smell the hint of peach. This is really great if you like foody. Unfortunately I dont.

This is overwhelmingly buttery and and nausea-inducing on me. Sadly, none of the Lab's pumpkin notes seem to work on me. Pass.

This isn't bad, necessarily, it just isn't my favorite interpretation of a pumpkin scent. On my skin it's far, far more peach and butter than pumpkin. I'd prefer something a little less sweet.

This is not what I would call a "pumpkiny" scent. Wet, it starts off fruity and spicy and buttery. Dry, it's a light, sweet buttery scent, with a hint of peach and no spice. It doesn't seem like it will last long at all.

I like my scents to stand out more and last longer, so I took off some points for that, and a point for it not smelling much like pumpkin at all.

I have to say that I'm not usually one for peachy scents, but I find this one attractive. It's very light, sweet and happy. Peaches always remind me of summer. It's not quite a sunshine scent, but maybe like baking in a warm, bright kitchen on a slightly chilly day, with nothing dark or foreboding.

For a time when I'd like my perfume to be very light and casual, I think I'll choose this. Or maybe for those chilly days in the spring when I'm dreaming of fall, the buttery baking scent will help.

Reading some of the other reviews makes me realize how lucky I am that Jack doesn't go sweet on me. The spices are the most prominent on me with just a hint of the buttery sweetness that others have mentioned. While wearing it I can hardly smell the pumpkin, but as a room scent its one of the stronger notes. Overall, a very pleasant foody scent that puts me in a great mood.

why does this have such mixed reviews? this is THE BEST foody scent I have ever smelled. it reminds me of a hot cup of spiced apple cider with all the sweetness and spice. LOVE this!

At first, I had a hard time smelling the pumpkin in this. It just smelled like buttery peach cobbler. Now that I've gotten used to the BPAL pumpkin note, I can definitely smell it in here.

I can smell pumpkin (buttery, with just a touch of spice), strong peaches and tiny hint of something warm. Honey? Amber? Odd, but somehow still appealing.

Very comforting...this will be great in the fall. The peach note can be a little strong and overly cloying, so I'm going to try and find a pumpkin scent to layer this one with. I wish the peach wasn't in here. For that reason, I probably wouldn't buy a full bottle.

I don't generally like foody, but I do like some Pumpkin Spice scents, so I was willing to give this a try. Unfortunately, this is everything I hate about foody scents. It's buttery-- really, really buttery. I hate the scent of butter- it was nearly choking me when I was wearing it. If I smelled more peach and clove I think I'd like it better, but really, all I get is butter.

I love this one so much... I smell a light sweetness, definitely the peach. I smell pumpkin and acorn squash, deepened by a slight hint of spice. On my skin it just smells wonderful, like fall... Pumpkin pie... Halloween candy... Everything I love! And actually, this bears an uncanny resemblance to Tutti Dolci Apple Torta without the weird gross fake scent that B&BW "perfume" sprays have. It's fruity, rich. foody, spicy... I don't know how else to describe it. Apple pie and pumpkins. Butter, sugar, peaches, nutmeg, pumpkin... Edible. I could drink this stuff! Nice lasting power as well. I'm buying 3 bottles of this stuff. If I could give it 10 lipsticks, I would.

The scent of warm, glowing jack o’lanterns on a warm autumn night: true Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove.

I love Jack! It reminds me of Halloween, Autumn, Pumpkin Pie and all the good things about that time of the year.

At first scent, I'm smelling carmel, candy corn, pumpkin and the tiniest bit of spicy. I can only detect the peach when I read the description! Otherwise, it just smells like candy to me.

My only complaint about this oil is that it doesn't last very long on me. But - I think this would be an amazing fragrance for an oil burner!

On my skin, Jack smells like someone mixed a bit of pumkin butter in with a big bin of buttered popcorn. It's rich and nauseating. Unfortunately, it also lasts a really long time on my skin. It's one of the few BPALs that I couldn't wear until it wore off, and had to wash off after 30 minutes or so. It's not quite in the category of "truly vile," but it's not something I ever want to touch again.

Jack didn't work at all on me. The first time I tried it, I got some apple cider scent after the butter wore off, and it was pretty plesant. But every time I wore it thereafter, it stayed all butter, all the time. I never detected any pumpkin, but I'm beginning to suspect that pumpkin smells like butter with my chemistry.

One of the few perfumes I've tried that required an immediate ethanol bath. An initial hit of butter which wasn't too bad. However, it morphed into old, moldy candy corn on me...and I do mean mold. No pumpkin, no spice, just damp, rotting Halloween sweets. Yecchhh! I usually like to smell a fragrance develop over time on my skin to see if I like it, but I had to get this one off of me ASAP.

I was compelled to purchase this because I have a son named Jack. On me at least, this scent does not evolve much - it pretty much always smells like a foody/fall "country candle" - and not the highest quality among those. I strongly suspect this particular oil would smell the same way on everyone. It is impersonal; it doesn't smell like it belongs on a person. Many BPAL oils are true artworks and are among the most balanced, complex, intimate, and evocative fragrances to be found at any price - but not this one.

Jack is an experience!

In the vial it smells of salty buttered popcorn, with a sweet whiff that reminds me of Buttered Popcorn flavored Jelly Bellies.

Once on, the sweetness deepens, and becomes a note that I can only describe as "perfumey." Beneath this note the candy carnival continues, deepening to something like candy corn.

It's the quintessential scent of Halloween!

this is an incredibly POWERFUL reek of pumpkin. and pumpkin. and did i mention it's powerful? it smells like you smeard pie filling on yourself, only not much spice like cinnamon or nutmeg added to cut the stink of pumpkin flesh. it's.. rather disgusting. maybe as a car scent? weird people who go for food scents want to smell like this; i think they're NUTS.
