I tried everything. I really wanted to like this product. For the price, I REALLY wanted to like it. I read every positive review and tried to replicate what they were doing (if our hair types seemed similar) and read every bad review and avoided what they were doing. I swear I read a shameful number of reviews. But my hair consistently looked horrible and greasy! Because what this product would do in theory was exactly what I was looking for, so I tried to make it work but alas, like a cheating boyfriend who you keep giving chances to because he swears he's changed and will make it up to you, this product just fell flat on its promises. The final straw was when my (not terrible, cheating Fekkai-esque) boyfriend offhandedly asked if I had gone for a run (I hadn't) and when I asked why, he said it looked like I had been sweating (he meant greasy). So it wasn't in my head at all.

Then I realized Fekkai products aren't cruelty free (subsidiary of Proctor & Gamble) so I passed along all my Fekkai products to a friend and am not looking back.

Most people have a love-hate relationship with Fekkai Glossing Cream with Olive Oil. They either hate it or love it. I'm in the love category. My hair is fine but thick, processed and straight, and in layers.
The first time I received this, it was a sample tube of the true Fekkai, not the Proctor and Gamble branded stuff. Be very careful of what you buy. There is a huge difference between the two products. I absolutely fell in love with this product. It made my hair glossy, shiny, smooth where it needed it, highlighted the blonde, gave it texture, did wondrous things to the styling of my hair. As long as I used the proper amount. Some people use a pearl-size amount, some use a little more. You just have to figure out how much you're going to need for your luxurious mane. That's all. I don't think it's meant to be used on all strands of your hair, rather, it's used more as a highlighter on various sections and that's how it works best for me.
I take a small amount, spread it on my fingers, and use my fingers (after blow-drying) to piece my hair how I want it finally look. This glossing cream works to put a final shine on my hair and set it in place, calm any frizz from any humidity that might be happening. Granted, if I use too much, my hair will look greasy. So, I've learned just how much to use.
Now, I mentioned there are two out there on the market. If you look at the back of the tube, one says Proctor & Gamble. That one has different ingredients in it (altho similar) but it is not as rich and will not create the same effect as the one tube that is just made by Fekkai in Paris. I'm not sure where all the shops are that the one from Proctor & Gamble is sold, but I noticed it at a shop when I was comparing the backs of tubes. I actually bought one and wound up returning it because I could feel the difference in product. That was my mistake and I learned from it. It seems like a knock-off version so be careful and read the backs to make sure you buy the salon version. It's that worth it.
The little 2 oz. version lasted me almost 6 months. Remember, you only use a pearl at a time, so you don't need much. The larger version is going on a year now and I'm ready to purchase again, so when I factor in the cost and divide it by 12, it's really only a few bucks a month. That's pretty cheap for one product to gloss my hair, control frizz, make it shiny, highlight the blonde and give it lift all in one tube.
I like the scent of olive oil and find it pleasant. It's not overpowering at all, besides, if you're only using a tiny amount, how can it offend anyone? Since I've tried this product, I haven't looked for any other one since. It's my HG of hair creams.

I'm on my third tube of this stuff and I still love it. You must only use a tiny, tiny amount, otherwise hair will end up greasy. But if used properly, it gives shine and smoothness. I only use this on the bottom 1/4 of my hair, just to make the ends shiny and nicely flowing. For me, this is only suitable when I wear my hair straight.

I liked this, but I like the Shea Butter Mask better. I get the same result, only my hair is actually being conditioned by the mask as opposed to just styled by the Cream. I used this in soaking wet hair. It made for a very glossy top knot! Held my hair in place. My hair was very soft and shiney when I took it down.

I've been using this product for many years. It tames frizz really well, I wouldn't dare go near my roots with this, but I do have naturally wavy and generally normal hair. When used correctly, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. 4 because of the price and because I haven't been searching for an HG similar product, so I can't say its the best when I haven't tried similar, cheaper products.

I tried this cream multiple times, in multiple ways. And well, it just doesn't do it for me. It's too thick, it's too heavy, and it weighs my hair down. After a few hours, especially in certain weather, it made my hair gross. It didn't make styling any easier. And looking at the ingredients it's no wonder why. I'm really glad I just bought the travel size, not the full size.

No, thanks. In short, this is an expensive product (about $20-$30 depending on size) that doesn't do anything for me that my tried and true leave-in conditioner (Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream) doesn't do a million times better...and it's more expensive and doesn't smell as good. Now, does it make a difference in my hair?--Maybe a little bit, but the “glossing” effects are minimal, akin to a cheap “glossing” spray: it doesn't help soothe poof or frizz on textured hair. In fact, this acts more like a mediocre leave-in conditioner, and if too much is used, even my super-dry, poofy hair can end up looking greasy. (I'd recommend only using the product minimally on the ends of your hair due to this.) I'd also recommend using a small amount at first, distributing it through the ends of damp hair. Needless to say, I won't be repurchasing.

This is a big miss for me. I wanted to believe the hype. I wanted to believe in the power of the allmightly glossing cream. I even wanted to believe the unsolicited, yet reassuring, "I love that stuff!" comment a random gal said in passing to me as I stood in the Fekkai section of Ulta. Alas, it was not meant to be. I didn't mind the olive smell, which I know some people have issue with. My main problem ended up being the end result. I tried using a pea size amount on my first styling attempt and ended up with dirty feeling, greasy looking hair. I figured I used to much on my long (half way down back) hair, so I didn't give up. The next three days, I increasingly decreased the amount I used until I was using barely a scant amount and still....same dirty feeling, greasy looking hair. Lesson learned: you can't win them all.

I have been using this glossing cream for about 12 years. I always have this around. I put some on when I am going to blow dry my hair and when it's dry I put some on the ends and run it through the length of my hair. It adds softness and moisturizes my hair. I love this because it really works at making my hair shinny and smooth.

I love this product, and was the first Fekkai product I ever bought. I just recently got the shampoo and conditioner (I figured I wouldn't need a shampoo that "glosses", I wanted something to moisturize, detangle, ect. and shine is not my highest priority; ends up the shampoo and conditioner are absolutely perfect and I will not buy a different s/c for a long time) and this pairs so well with them. The entire line is wonderful, and the cream leaves my hair silky and soft. A little goes a long way, so don't overdo it or you'll be able to feel it (it can leave a bit of a greasy aftertouch, but it's not sticky or heavy). I like to put it on my damp hair before blowdrying, but it works well as just a leave-in conditioner or something for flyaways or dry days.

EDIT 2/22/13: I won't be repurchasing this. B&B's grooming cream won me over!

Great product! I use it on my dry hair to smooth out frizzies. A little bit goes a long way so use sparingly!

This stuff is a miracle. I wash my hair at night, put a tiny bit through my hair, then sleep on it. When I wake up, my hair feels nice and shiny. It doesn't make your hair feel greasy or weigh it down at all! I've tried a lot of other leave-in conditioners, and this is my favorite :)

I love this stuff, i have dry, frizzy, non shiny dull hair and this is a life saver! When i feel like i dont want to apply any heat to my hair(straightener, curler ect.) aka. let it air dry, i apply a pea size to my hair and BAM! This eliminated frizzy, my hair is so dang shiny and vivid, i love this stuff!
But never apply too much cause it will eventually make your hair look greasy instead of shiny, a little goes a long way with this product!
And its a great product for after styled hair, gives the same effect!

Wanted something to add a little shine and moisture to my flat ironed type 4 hair. I got plenty of shine, but not much moisture. I prefer Kkenra Plat Recovery Polish. This is a great product for shine only. Will not repurchase.

I received this styling product from my mom as a gift. I didn't like this product the first time (because I've used too much the first time).. So I stopped using it. After a while I totally forgot that I've got this cream, I've took a shower, made my hair like towel dry and took this stuff.. The smell is a little weird but you need to get used to it. After I put this in my hair it's sooo shiny, glossy and the best of all it's not frizzy!!

I love this product and I'll defenitley re-purchase this!

A LIFESAVER! I apply a bit less than a pea size of this on my medium length hair before styling and it makes my hair look wonderful-shiny, soft, frizz free and sleek. I have damaged hair that gets oily very fast but this product does not make it look nasty at all. A tube usually lasts me a year, so the price is very reasonable. Love it and would recommend it to everyone!

I remember trying this product many many years ago and not sure why i stopped getting it but probably was because of the high price. This time I found it at target on sale for about $7 for the 2oz size (normally $12) and got a $10 gift card with the purchase of 2 so it was an awesome deal. Anyways the product works great for me cuz my hair is super dry, porous, thick and damaged from heat styling and coloring. It tames alot of my frizziness and doesnt make my hair greasy. I may purchase this again when I use up these 2 tubes, but since I also just placed a huge bumble+ bumble styling products order its going to be a LONG while before/if I do ;)

This stuff is great, has an awesome scent, and makes my hair smoother, and easier to style. I like that it has olive oil, which helps with my fine, color treated, heat styled hair. My hair feels so healthy and light, keeps the flyaways and frizz under control---I really like it!

Good product for my hair type. I have extremely thick long hair. My hair is also coarse with a wave and frizz. Many products seem to have no impact on my crazy hair. I have to say, I do like this glossing cream. I like using this when I let my hair air-dry because it gives my usual frizzy waves a nice gloss to them and really does calm down my frizzies. Because of my hair texture, I need a quarter sized amount instead of a pea sized amount. I've tried using a pea size and it did nothing. I am in love with the scent of this. It's a very slight herbal scent that makes me happy. The price is a bit $$$ for the amount of product you get which is the only downfall.

This works very well on my hair when I let it dry naturally curly/wavy. I haven't tried it yet on days where I straighten it, but I can't imagine it would hurt it in any way. It doesn't weigh my hair down and definitely helps to define my curls after running it though my hair. Definitely makes it feel soft and gives it a glossier appearance as well as less frizzies. A bit expensive, but if you buy the small trial size bottle it should last a while because you only use a tiny amount each time. Good stuff!!
