Used this product once before during my early 20's. However, stopped after I finished the bottle as it was quite expensive for me to purchase then.
I've started using this again in Dec 2012.
Product does not gives me any breakout or problem at all.
It doesn't really leave a white cast on the face after application. However, I still do apply powder foundation after. Although the price has gone, I'll buy it again as this is creamy, easy to apply, have less sunblock typical smell and in a convenient bottle.
Love this!

i wanted an oil-free sunblock and something which will not make my face shine. my beautician recommended this to me and i paid close to a hundred for this in singapore. very disappointing because most of derm's products are good. i have more than half a bottle left untouched. this product feels very uncomfortable on the skin esp after sweating. it is really sticky, makes your face unnaturally whiter and it is really oily. this breaks me out badly and clog my pores too.

Like someone else posted already, if you combine this with a moisturizer you are in fact cutting the SPF down. I wanted to add that it lowers to SPF 17. I know because I used to work for them and it's in their training. Maybe some people don't mind that it drops, but I wanted to get the word out anyways.

I have tried it on both as it is and mixed with my moisturizer (active moist). It works ok if you use only a very small amount, when I use more it gives a sticky feeling and my face looks white... It also clogs my pores, quite disappointing since I thought this product would be perfect for me.

I absolutely adore most of the Dermalogica line, which is why I was devastated that I broke out all over after using this. The first time it happened, I thought maybe it was just coincidence, but the second time round, there's no denying. This just doesn't suit my skin. Such a pity, I really love the formula! :((

I love this genius product. I love being able to by a moisturiser and not care about spf of not, as I have my little bottle of Solar Defence Booster. I mix a pea-sized click with my Skin Smoothing Cream, and feel safe not to sunburn, ever againg. It even makes the skin appear smoother and more even! I have not had any breakouts from it, and have not expirienced any clogging of my pores. The only downside, as whith all Dermalogica products, is the price tag. But still in all, I do recomend this product.

I got a sample that I used on a few sunny days. The texture was nice and creamy, and it absorbed thoroughly. But unfortunately it broke me out pretty badly :( My skin looked and feeled terrible after only a few days' use.

For a sunscreen that is only SPF30, this is simply way too greasy, especially when applied on its own. I usually mix it with moisturiser, but even then it just sits on my skin, and feels really heavy. It is also too pricey and I won't be repurchasing this.

I'm not somebody who likes to use a billion different products on my skin...which is why I love this. I can use one moisturizer for both day and night, use this as a "boost" daily, or as regular sunblock on a day at the beach.
This is also the only sunblock that hasn't caused my environmentally sensitized skin to break out -- which is what earned it all five lippies.
The packaging is also nice because the squirt bottle ensures that you don't distribute too much product. I've had my little bottle for 4 months now, using it every day and sometimes re-applying if I'm in the sun, and it's only about half way gone. Excellent product! Will buy again and again and again!

No greasy look, but I do get small bumps from it! After application I experience quite some stinging from the product!

I had almost given up on daily sunscreen prior to this. They were either too sticky, left whitish streaks on my face (i'm tanned), made my face looking really shiny, gave me allergies or smelt really bad. Previous products I had tried included ZA (too drying after long usage), Avene (smells really bad, and was sticky + made my face shiny), La Roche-Posay (smells really good, great light texture, but I was allergic to the fragrance)
So this Dermalogica one was really a relief,it smelt alright, and the smell doesn't linger. My face does start shining a bit after 1+ hours, but that's rather normal for me (usually 2). I also like the fact that i can mix it with my moisturizer, saves time of waiting for 1 layer to dry before applying the next.

I mix this 50/50 with my moisturizer and it feels great and smells fine - unlike other chemically sunblocks. It's just a really nice formula for my sensitive/prescription treated face when I don't need a full-on - day at the beach - coating of sunblock. Not greasy.

This is the one product that I almost never leave home without (unless it's one of those days when I'd forget a step to my skin regiments). Great consistency, no white streaks, and really just sinks into your skin. I'm always a bit paranoid of applying random sunblocks on my face, since I have really, really, sensitive skin. But this non-perfumed product is just amazing. Five lippies all the way!

i got this after being recommended by my beautician after i had laser hair removal and was going to India.........very expensive, but the best SPF ever.....i mix with my moisturiser and its amazing....i think it actually improves my skin....i use all the time now, as i recently broke out so badly and have been using PTR potent lightning lotion at night, and Neostrata AHA during the day, so this goes on after for the protection!!!
next time i will buy off ebay, as it is much cheaper.....i know there are other cheaper brands out there, but this doesnt give me that dipped in oil look the others do, and i love the fact u can mix it in.
amazing product, a little goes a long way...will buy again.

I think they changed the formulation recently. I used it years ago and remeber it being kinda too slick on the skin. Now it melts into my skin and makes my skin feel like silk. I use this for everyday now and my oily/over medicated skin loves it!!!!I use a higher defense from LRP for any significant legnth in the sun, but for the inbetween days and as a wonderful primer, It is perfect.

I got to the bottom of this and felt like i was doing my skin a nice, big favor. It is easy to mix it in with liquid foundation before applying to face. However, the booster does not mix in nicely with different liquid foundations and can appear seperated on skin.

i really like this sunscreen product, but only wish that it was cheaper. the bottle is so small, and cost so much that it's not worth it. i don't like the "sun screen" smell on most sun screen products, but this product has a nice "non-sun screen" scent and also easily absorbs into the skin... which is why i liked it. only drawback is the price.

I have never broken out from any product with a sunscreen before and this broke me out badly after using it once mixed in with the intensive moisture balance moisturiser.
I am continuing to use the moisturiser with no problems and am scared to try this again because of the reaction i had.
