AWESOME!
Grew my lashes and works amazing, I cannot wear mascara without this now. It really helps to not have mascara get really hard on your lashes and the mascara comes off easy, acts as a protecting layer. Lashes don't break when taking mascara off. Also enhances the mascara.

This product works pretty well, but it is a pain to use. If I can get a nice, even application, it adds lots of volume and makes my mascara last a long time. It also really helps curl hold well. But it dispenses in a way that makes lashes look funky and clumpy, and it leaves lashes very sticky once it is applied, so it makes mascara more challenging to apply. So, after curling I need to apply it, then comb out my lashes to un-clump them (which results in lots of wasted product stuck to my comb), then apply mascara *very carefully* so as to avoid re-clumping them, then wash my lash comb and wait for everything to dry out. This makes the product too much of a hassle for frequent use...I only turn to it on special occasions, and to me it isn't worth keeping around just for that.

Ok, but Estee Lauder is way better. The brush is cheap, but the product lasts a long time. If you do not put your mascara on as soon as it dries, it will ball/flake off. I really like the clear tube so I can see how much product is in the tube.

I recently discovered the magic of eyelash primers after purchasing a cheap drugstore mascara/primer combo (Jane) and falling in love with the primer. I never knew it could make my lashes so much thicker and fuller. It enhances any mascara significantly.
So after learning that primers are not sold at drug stores I ventured off to Ulta to find a brand that does. An associate was going to show me a Tarte primer, but unfortunately they were all out, so she mentioned Benefit but I saw this before we got to that section so I picked this up instead. I've also always wanted to try Smashbox but I never came across any product I really wanted/needed.
I will start with the pros&cons and go from there.
Pros:
-the packaging is clear so you can see how much product is in
-packaging is nice in general and reminds me of MAC products, it's also plastic so it won't break if dropped
-lengthens lashes a little bit
Cons:
-it's goopy and clumpy, so you have to really work with it and put time and effort into making sure lashes are separated
-it's pricey
-does not thicken as well as I had hoped
-it's wet and runny so it does NOT hold curl
-the wand is just awful... this needs to be redesigned stat. It is one of those spiral wands where the bristles are not distributed evenly. Whoever thought this was good for lashes is an idiot - it makes lashes stick together because they get between the gaps instead of being combed out evenly.
I am really disappointed with the wand and will try to replace it though I am not sure how easy it will be to find one that will screw on correctly. I also always curl my lashes prior to applying mascara because it looks sooo much better and makes my eyes look wider/more awake. This product straightens them almost completely :( which sucks because I expected it to hold curl based on previous reviews.
After comparing this primer ($17/ea) to my other Jane mascara/primer combo (about $4/ea) I am definitely baffled. The Jane primer is the one that inspired me to go out and buy a big tube of more expensive "better" stuff. Seeing that I can purchase 4 of the Jane primers for the price of one of these I think I will reconsider next time... or maybe I'll try a different brand.
If I could I would give this a 2.5 lippies.

This is not a good eyelash primer. The texture is too thin and takes a very long time to dry. Therefore it is also no weightless enough like I have experienced with other (drugstore) primers which means it will not hold a curl. It does not extend as well either. Volume wise its ok but there are some drugstore primers that exceed this one by far. Packaging is the only thing that is really cool about this one: it is clear so you can see how much product is left. Nevertheless, you need to toss it after 3 months anyway, just like regular mascara - so this does not make up for the overall bad texture of this product.

Don't bother. Made absolutely no impact on my lashes regardless of how I applied it. Just buy better mascara.

I really like this lash primer. I didn't think I needed one until I just bought it on a whim. I used it a few times a knew it made such a difference. I made my mascaras not as flakey. It held up my curl a lot better and it gave a bit more volume. I thought I was just making myself believe it but it was true. I put on my mascara one day without my primer (it was finals week and I was too lazy) and I noticed how my lashes weren't as thick and they were straight within a few hours. I've had it for a few months and I've used it almost every time I use mascara. Sometimes I add enough to get the product on and to see white on my lashes and sometimes I don't see product on my lashes but know its there because I can see a difference in my lashes. But either way, it has helped with my lashes and mascara to look thicker and fuller. Will definitely repurchase despite the price, maybe I'll buy again when there's a sale. Overall, I would recommend this. Lash primer makes a huge difference.

I love this lash primer. I didn't know about it until I got a sample one time & decided to try it. It really does make your lashes so much thicker & longer when you put on mascara right afterwards. I need all the help I can get with lashes & I will not put on mascara without lash primer.

I had a love and hate relationship with this primer depending on which mascara I combined it with. The one major thing I did love about this primer is how well it held up my curl! I am a huge drugstore mascara user due to the fact that I have to repurchase a new one every 3-4 months. I have some high end mascaras from kits as well, but my drugstore ones are better for my type of lashes. The main thing I noticed with this primer is it clumps... A LOT! It does not do so well with volumizing formulas and tends to clump my lashes together with the primer underneath. This primer does work best with fiber tube type technology mascaras on top. I used this primer for a month and decided to return it. I wanted a primer that would work well with all my different mascaras. I don't wear fiber tube type technology mascara that often as they tend to flake and it gets stuck in my contacts.
The tube is see through which is a plus and can see how much you have left. I don't like the wand stopper in the tube, it is very odd and leaves a ton of primer residue on the opening rim which wastes a lot of products.

Hallelujah, I've found myself a new HG lash primer!=) This one beats my old, discontinued Maybelline XXL so bad that I'm a bit sad I didn't try it sooner. I use it with my Smashbox focal point mascara and it's amazing. I didn't know that my lashes could look like that. lol.
I've got short and straight (ie: with no curl) lashes and need something that both lengthens and curls and this does that to an extreme. My lashes become long, curled and even more voluminous than what I consider already voluminous lashes. It really does look like I'm wearing falsies. Love it!

Basically my HG of all lash primers. It really works and gives my lashes good definition when paired with a good mascara. It glides on easily and lasts a long time. I love this product and I will keep repurchasing.

It works well. My mascara stays on (I do wear only waterproof mascara, though, so that might not be the primer) and my lashes are thicker due to this extra layer. However, it is slightly clumpy if you're not maticulous about how you apply it. I haven't tried any other primers to compare this to, but I do like it. The packaging is kind of blah but I don't really care about that.

I had been a user of Lancome primer, but picked up the Smashbox primer at Sephora upon the recommendation of a sales associate. It certainly is friendlier to the wallet than the Lancome primer, and I have been very happy with the results! I am terribly averse to primer and mascara creating the spider last lash look, and this product gives a long thick lashes look while also conditioning the lashes and making mascara removal a snap. I tend to let the primer dry, then put on my mascara, but I wear BE Buxom mascara, and maybe the relative success or lack thereof with this primer depends upon the mascara you're using and whether to let the primer dry or not. I don't know. All I do know is that I like the primer, and I'll keep using it.

this stuff is AMAZING! i really hold this as one of my best ever make up discoveries. I usually save this for nights out or special occasions, and ppl always ask me if i have false lashes on. it gives an amazing effect, i personally wouldn't use it for day wear as i prefer more natural lashes for daytime.
the key is to put a quick sweep of this product on and follow immediately with mascara. I've read on other blogs that ppl think that the cheaper mascara works better with it, i definitely agree... it works way better with my €5 mascara then Benefit Bad Gal... but still works good with the higher pricest products... I'd definitely recommend this product to every1!

I really love this product! It makes my lashes look full and thicker. I use it daily under Maybelline Full and Soft and the thick mascara brush really separates my lashes. When I'm going out I'll use this lash primer with a thicker formula mascara. I always apply mascara while the primer is still moist and I've never had a problem with clumping.

Does a wonderful job of lengthening and thickening lashes. Unless you are going for a special look, you shouldn't need false eyelashes after this. You do have to be careful about putting too much primer on , which can mess up the final result. I've had good success using under many different brands of mascara. A bit pricey but lasts and works well.

The trick is to swipe this on, and while it is still wet, apply mascara.
I get a clean application that looks wonderful. I use a light hand with makeup and mascara - only one coat - and when I use this, people ask me if I am wearing fake eyelashes, or they compliment my eyelashes.
I've used this with plenty of other brands of mascara, and it works wonderfully.
I adore that the tube is see-through, so you know how much product is left (unlike mascara tubes where you can never tell when they're empty).

Can I just say, EW? This stuff is god awful! I barely ever return makeup, but I knew this was going back the second it touched my lashes and made them stick straight spider legs. When topped with my HG mascara, which can usually do no wrong, my eyelashes were not even visible unless I looked at them from a horrendously awkward angle. I could FEEL the distinct clumpy heaviness of the primer monstrosity weighing down my eyelids. *shudder* NEVER again. I can't stress how much I hate this product. Such a waste of time. :/

After using this lash primer for a few weeks, I put my mascara on one day without it and realized that this does make a difference. It makes my lashes much longer and thicker too. It doesn't clump and my mascara stays on longer than it did without the primer. At the end of the day my makeup still looks good.
Eventually I hope to find a mascara that makes my eyelashes look this good without a primer, because that would save me time and money. But for now I will repurchase this.
