I'm surprised that this renewal moisturizer received so little spotlight as the last review was 6 years ago! I ordered this cream along with the antioxidant infusion from Astara and I adore both of them! While the infusion is light and refresh, the renewal intense moisturizer comes in heavier texture for hydration but not greasy at all. I'm in Southern California and I feel this cream can be a good year round product, even I'm a normal sometimes oily skin. I like the infusion for its refresh and soothing texture, but when it comes to hydration it's simply not enough. With the renewal cream as the last step of my nightly ritual I feel my face is well moisturized and renewed. The scent is also very herbal and soothing. Highly recommend Astara products!

While this product has done the most for my skin in the entire Astara line, I have one bone to pick...it contains the only chemical ingredients I've yet found in any of the formulations. It contains both Isopropyl Myristate and Dimethicone. I know Isopropyl Myristate can be highly comedogenic, although I haven't had a problem with it...it just irks me that it's there. The rest of the formulation is magic. It's Astara's anti-aging formula...and their description is... "Radiance Renewal stimulates cellular renewal, protects with potent antioxidants and intensely hydrates the skin's surface to result in a smooth, supple texture with a vibrant, youthful glow." I'd have to agree. My skin tends toward oily, and this hasn't bothered it a bit. I use it at night after the Antioxident Infusion, and my skin looks so calm and even in the morning. The price? Well...I've spent more and gotten less. If you can find a sample, go for it. UPDATE***Have found that the ingredients listed on the Astara website are only a partial list. These formulations contain artificial/chemical ingedients just like everything else. When a developer is not proud enough of their recipes, and tries to limit full disclosure of the product, it makes it look like they have something to hide. I'm pretty disgusted, and feel like they "got me" under false pretenses, but will not change the rating until I've used the system for at least six weeks.

I have incredibly sensitive skin, prone to irritated, red bumps and milia. It is a rare day when I find a moisturizer that does not lead to a break out or distressed, red skin. A clerk at Pharmica gave me a tiny sample of this cream when it came out last year and I was immediately (and surprisingly) pleased. It is extremely expensive for the amount you receive, but from my experience, you only need to use a very small amount to adequately moisturize your entire face (especially if you pat a little water on your skin first). I have had this small size jar ($45 US) for over a year and I think I can probably coax another two months out of it.
This is the only product I find worthy in the entire line, but I can honestly and whole heartedly recommend it.
***UPDATE*** This eventually began to sting my face. I have no idea why. I gave it up instead of trying to eliminate other product from my regime.

This is one of Astara's newest products and WOW is it expensive for what it is. It happens to be a terrific moisturizer and even could be a HG for some, but I find (as an aethetician and ingredient expert) that although it DOES contain wonderful antioxidants and essential oils, it is just too much money.

I love the stuff. I thought it would be way too heavy based on my experience with the Astara Rich moisturizer. However, this is very emollient without feeling like a coat of goo. It absorbs in quickly and is an amazing moisturizer. I love it on top of the infusion. I also like it around the eyes.
